Had not been to Pellets c I'd in many years, but decided to meet up with ten others for New Year's Eve. Reservation's at 7:00. When we got seated after moving from one table to another, we could see they were absolutely packed. To sum it up the service was so absolutely bad, it became comical. After 35 minutes we were able to get four drinks for ten people. The drinks were served in any type of glass ware they seemed to have available. I politely went up front to explain out situation and immediately I was told this delay was totally unacceptable and it would be remedied with a new waiter. Ten to fifteen minutes went by and finally the same waiter appeared with two more drinks. The service went downhill from there. I finally asked please can we order and he obliged but he could only take appetizers not entrees. It was now approaching 9:00 and a few appetizers appeared. Tables around us that were seated at the same time as us were prepared to exit and we still had not ordered our entrees. Without further details, the remaining dinner was total confusion. In actuality the food was reasonably good but the service was so disjointed that the meal became a comical farce. Everyone was in a happy mood and we made the best of it. The moral here was we should have made a reservation an hour earlier or two hours later, but we will think twice about Pellicci's in the future. We could have made a big issue at the front desk but it was a festive evening and our waiter was totally overwhelmed, the management appeared to be oblivious , so chalk it up to a good story for laughs. read more

We were staying in Stamford for one night and wanted to find an Italian place. We went here and the service was really good and they always filled our waters. Both our plates were around $17 which after doing some research was a little cheaper than some Italian places around there. The portions were really good and super filling. I got the lasagna and my wife got the tortellini Alfredo. Overall we had a good experience but it was so amazing that I am rushing to go back, hence the 4 stars. Also, they only have valet parking which for me is annoying because it's one extra thing you have to pay for but it's in a city so they always try and get you for parking. read more

Great Italian restaurant with family feel. Excellent food and very reasonably priced. Chicken Scarpiello is one of my favorites.

Went to Pellicci's for a team outing with coworkers and we had a great time! The food was delicious. We had salad, bread and olive oil, pasta, steak, chicken, potatoes, broccoli, cannolis, and lots of beer and wine! The food is delicious! I like how they have areas for large groups to sit. At the same time, there is more intimate seating for smaller parties. The one thing that was a little odd was that they seated a group for an engagement party right next to us, which was a bit uncomfortable. The service was good, especially considering the size of our group. They were on top of things service-wise from the moment we arrived. My favorite dishes were the steak and the penne alla vodka! Awesome place. I had a 30 person Sunday dinner party last week. Food was excellent. Service excellent. Room was lovely. My family comments were "closest thing to having Sunday dinner at the house only more space and no work for the hostess." Highly recommend. Our menu was calamari appetizer, chicken scarp and steak topped with mushroom and onions - all delicious. We chose to have serving family style. There was generous amount of food. Being from Brooklyn and going to great neighborhood Italian restaurants in Bensonhurst and other places in the '70s and '80s, my feelings about places I stumble on, like Pellicci's are really more emotional than just based on the food quality. The food quality needs to meet a certain standard in order to like the place but once you get past that it's the aura, the people, the atmosphere, the layout, that make a place special, and Pellicci's checked all the boxes today. The layout is great with an active bar and a bar-room dining area semi-attached and then a separate dining room and finally a room which is probably used primarily for private parties (not just a box, it was a nice room). There were a lot of 'regulars' there - real characters - which adds soul to a place like this. The service at the bar was excellent (thanks to J.C.). The food was very very good but I could see it being one of those places where there are really great items and not perfect items. We really loved the place as first-timers and will DEFINITELY return! read more

Really wanted to love it here. Valet parking only, but plenty of seating inside. Service was great, salad was decent, but I was dissatisfied with my chicken parmesan. It came out at room temperature or colder and there was very little cheese or sauce on top. I would have definitely told my waitress but she didn't come back for a considerable amount of time until I was nearly finished. For $21 an entree, I would hope they would be a little bit more liberal with the cheese, sauce and heat. That said, I did not give them a lower rating because the atmosphere was cool in addition to the history. Wish I got the pizza instead. read more

Believe it or not I had my first pizza at Pellicci's Restaurant in Stamford CT in 1958 when i wqs twelve. in fact I had several. It was just a plain pizza with mozzarella cheese, thin crust, etc, but it made me a pizza connoisseur for life and became the standard on which all other pizza was judged. Fast forward sixty four years. I was driving from NYC to Boston bringing home a car I bought online and descided to stop in Stamford CT to get something to eat. I always remembered Pellicci's and did a search on my iPhone. Lo and behold there they were just off the highway. I explained my mission to the lady at the desk who told me that her husband was the owner back in 1958 and their daughter would make the pizza for me. I ordered a medium with just cheese and asked them to cut it in sixteen pieces so it would be easy to eat while I continued my journey. it was delicious, crust nice and crisp with plenty of cheese just as i remembered. What a wonderful memory. Was it the best pizza ever? No, but it was great. nowadays I make my own pizzas in a maple wood-burning Ooni oven with plenty of cheese, linguiça, mushrooms, black olives and of course, anchovies. Wonderful Italian in the old neighborhood. Go here if you want the relaxed, old-school type of service. "Red sauce" stuff abounds, but I prefer the red sauce on pasta. So veal piccata is where it's at. It's all traditional. The ingredients are what makes this place. Sauce is at times bitter. But their provisions (and the Salumi on the antipasto) are first-rate. Get any version of chicken they make (on the bone) it's an old-school style that reminds me of Rao's in Manhattan. Don't bother with the refrigerator-cold desserts. Cannolis, if they're fresh, are okay but too heavy after a Neapolitan-style meal like this. Just have a good cup of coffee - they'll have fed you well enough. Thirty-five years ago, I made my first visit here. There was an old woman nearly in the foyer, peeling garlic. The guy who took me there (RIP Al Albonizio) spoke quietly "that's Anna - two of her sons ended up in Long Ridge with bullet holes" - that's history! read more

The Service was terrible, Ask what the specials were he had to go back out and look and then come back and tell us. After we received our dinner we never saw anybody again. Looking to get more drinks and bread and no one was to be found. When asked the hostess where did our waiter go, She said they needed him to do deliveries. Wow that's how you treat your seated guess. Great food, and our wait staff were very nice, but between the awful parking situation and the rude, nasty front of house, it was awful. We had a reservation for a private room. We were coming from my cousin's wake (they knew what the occasion was ahead of time). First the parking attendants turned us away, instead of letting us get in line. Then, when we finally got in, the hostess was nasty, she tried to say we didn't have the room reserved (my little cousin called that morning to reconfirm) and then they shoved us in a back corner without enough seats. Attended a family event at Pellicci which was held in their buffet room (decent size- their regular dining area though is "tight" no so friendly if someone is disabled.) We were severed "THE TRADITIONAL FAMILY STYLE DINNER". The food was pretty good but not as good as it was years ago. In the early 90s the food here was out of this world now it is just average. Dined here on a Thursday evening for a stop along a roadtrip. We've stopped in Stamford before and honestly had low expectations, but this place was wonderful. We sat down for drinks and Fernando was an amazing server. He was attentive and accommodating, and knew the menu well. We were tired after hours on the road so we took our dinner back to our hotel and he wrapped it up perfectly for us. I had the lobster ravioli and my husband had the NY strip. We find it to be very good family style Italian food with generous portions, good quality, friendly service and reasonable pricing. Has all the good trappings of a family run business and long-standing neighborhood institution. Unfortunately, the local neighborhood is a little rundown, but the answer is their valet parking with polite service. The dining areas offer ample space, and are warm, comfy, and homey. I ordered delivery from Pellicci's while visiting the area. The woman who took my order was very kind and polite. Delivery was very quick and my order was at the front desk of the hotel waiting for me. The chicken parm was absolutely amazing and the portion is HUGE. It could easily feed 2 adults or more if they are small eaters. It came with a generous side of pasta. The sauce was absolutely perfect. The breading was nice and thin and did not overwhelm the chicken. It was absolutely delicious and easily the best chicken parmigiana that I have ever had. I 100% recommend Pellicci's and if I ever return to the area, I will bring my family for dinner. read more

This review DOES NOT reflect Pellicci's itself BUT the Valet service that they employ. I have NEVER been so angry in my life as the way I was just treated in their parking lot. Since buying a new car, I do not have to carry an actual key instead the car works off an app from my phone. Upon pulling in, I asked if I can just park myself since I was not giving my phone to the valet guys-at that point they started yelling at me and shouting out profanities. I went in and told the resturant and it did not phase them at all!!! This upset me even more, since this is a resturant that I enjoy eating at.
