Its a great place for a date, or to go with someone you want to spend time hanging out with thats not the movies. We got the 2 rounds for the price of one coupon and were able to do both courses. It is true that the obstacles are mostly just bumps and bends on a plain blue course--but the theme is ocean life (for kids) and Hawaii/surfing (for a challenge), so it works! My hub dubs and I love Hawaii, so it was fun to relive our trip while playing golf. Mini golf is all about who you go with and this place is one we really enjoyed! read more

This is a great miniature golf course I never realized was here. It's across the street from the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Jimmy Durante BLVD. It also has a nice driving range and Putting greens! It has a nice Hamburger stand and golf pro shop! Very clean well maintained property. read more

This is such a cute little date night spot. My boyfriend somehow found out about this place and I'm not exactly sure how, but I'm glad he did. We came here on a Saturday night around 8 and we were pretty much the only ones there. And I was glad. We got to really take our time and enjoy ourselves. There are two courses that each include 18 different holes. The place looks so small, but it's huge! I have to say though that they could make their courses a little cooler and put more stuff in them that makes it harder, but it was still really fun. We really got our competitive sides out. I will never be going to Boomers again. Pelly's completely blows it out of the water! 2 courses, both adorable and very well maintained. We only played the ocean course, but they both seemed to be similar in their difficulty and overall experience. This place is reasonable (about $20 for my boyfriend and I for one course) and offers a discount on the second course. While we were playing, there were not too many other people on the course and we didn't have to wait more than a few times to play a hole. I hope that it stays this way, or we didn't just come at an off time. The course just feels relaxing and is surprisingly scenic. They have a pond with sea creatures that squirt water, music, and trashcans conveniently located throughout. We came around 5:30 so the sun was out, wasn't too warm, and took us about an hour to finish one course. The place is easy to find, plenty of parking, and friendly people. We'll definitely be back here to try the other course soon! read more

Sea animal statuary flanked many of the paths between holes and fountains bubbled calmly, creating the perfect atmosphere for focus. The green was well-maintained, a rarity these days. A great place for mini golf with fun, creative ocean themes. A lot of mini golf places look run down, but the operators of this place clearly take care of the courses and keep everything looking good. The ocean and surf themes are great and they keep it fresh throughout the eighteen holes of each theme. For example, there's a cool green where the hole is inside of a shark diving cage. It's a great family environment and you get a discount on the second 18 holes. The course is not the most challenging one if you're looking for a competitive game, but it is a fun course for all levels (whether it's just for fun or keeping score). Plenty of chances for a hole in one. The one recommendation I would make to management is better directional signage from the main road into the parking lot. It's tricky to find the right place if you've never been there before. It's tucked away. It's quiet on a weeknight with just a handful there so you're not rushed. read more

Tried to go here to stay away from congestion at Tiki Town and Boomers, but were a bit disappointed. Pretty straightforward putt putt place with 2 courses (ocean and surf) but holes are really basic, seems like it's pretty old and while mostly fine, it's definitely showing age in places. Couple other issues... 1) there are spots with no barrier so it's really easy for your ball to skip out of the course. 2) There are some holes that are so hard that you take a 10 and move on (the volcano, the big slope, etc). 3) the 18th is a lame target practice thing that nobody gets... Overall, this place is a relatively old, faded place that can still deliver some fun but needs work. I think they're more focused on the driving range here. Would probably try one of the others next time. read more

I don't know what everyone's so excited about with this place. It's a VERY average, if not below-average, mini golf course. There are two courses, but don't bother asking the staff which is better, because they're entirely unhelpful. We chose the "Sufin Safari" course arbitrarily. Obstacles are pretty much non-existent. A rock here or there, but nothing cool or even remotely difficult. We might as well have gone over to the putting green at the driving range next door. The big paint-chipped blue wave was a nice gesture, but the overgrown algae on the clearly neglected pond was disgusting. And $9.00 a person? With the course they're offering, that seems excessive. It was a beautiful day in Del Mar and Eddie and I are in the habit of making anything fun, so of course we enjoyed ourselves. But next time we get the urge to go mini golfing, we'll definitely be searching elsewhere. read more

Cleanest miniature golf I've ever played at! This spot has a resort like feel to it with a driving range and pumpkin patch next door. The staff was friendly and prices are good. Our only negative experience was a birthday party that was taking place and the parents and kids kept walking and standing in our way as we played! They weren't playing, they were just running around screaming and throwing the golf balls around. I understand your hosting your birthday party here but we payed to play... for the kids to do it was one thing but when the adults walk across the course and stand in the way of us when are about to hit, while they stand and talk and drink their beer! I was close to going back and asking for a refund but I didn't want to spoil our sons birthday so we hopped over to the other course and started over. We will be back in the future. read more

Almost every hole was a straight shot or close to it, with the occasional small bump or small obstacle. My boyfriend and his family grew up playing endless games of mini golf in Ocean City, MD, so his standards (and mine by trade) are quite high when it comes to mini golf courses. Pelly's was open on July 4th, from 9AM-9PM! We were able to navigate to their private parking lot, which was separate from the fair parking. HALLELUJIAH! We played the Surfin Safari course, which was touted as the more difficult of the two courses - YES, they have two, for double the fun! The course was fun, scenic, and complex. Overall an excellent experience and a superb location! We will try the 'Ocean Adventure' course next time, and at a replay cost of $4.50 per adult, it won't break the bank. The greens on the Ocean Adventure course appeared to be refurbished compared to the dated Surfin' Safari course we played. Thanks Pelly's! This place is super hidden. It's across from the Del Mar Racetrack, next to the driving range. Once you get here, you pay $9.50 a person--I thought this was pretty reasonable but the course is 18 tiny holes, so it ends up really not taking that long (maybe half an hour and we had a group of 4). That being said, I feel like I'd pay it again but it seems sort of pricy considering the fact that the park is kind of janky and could use some sprucing up, you only need a golf ball and a putting club, and they really kind of charge a lot for that. Sigh. This is kind of one of the only mini golf places though, besides Boomer's which is the worst if my child brain recalls correctly. SO, take my $9.50. There are two courses--Surfing Adventure and Animal something. They both seem quite easy but still fun. I did the animal one with some friends and we definitely enjoyed it! AND I GOT A HOLE IN ONE! I am amazing. It's possible, people. All in all, come when it's not a million degrees outside because this place has no shade. It is well lit enough at night EXCEPT at hole 2 which is SO dark!!! what the heck! All this being said, this is a fun place to be. The attendant at the desk seemed like he hated his life, but let's hope that was just a bad night and I hope he loves his life. Friendly staff to greet you. Well kept facility. The greens rolled true with good speed, shout-out greens staff (in this case the greens were blue). My issues are with the architectural design of the ocean adventures course. Very plain and uninspiring layout. Very straight forward and lacking any whimsical pluck. Would have liked to have seen some more adventurous design with the holes. If you want to hit straight putts with little obstructions then this would be great for you. Maybe the owner was in the architects ear too much. This does not stack up with the greats in mini golf architecture. On another note, pace of play was great even without a marshal. read more

Pelly's Mini Golf is really fun! So here's the info: it's located right off the 5 so it's easy to access. It's in a bit of a weird spot - next to an RV park, tennis courts, a volleyball court, and a driving range. So the parking lot is lively but I had no trouble finding a spot. When you walk in, you can follow the signs to the mini golf check in desk. When you check in, the desk staff is very friendly. They ask if you'd like to do two courses or just one. I just did one of them, but I could see the other course and they look relatively the same. I went on a Saturday morning and it was packed with families. I learned from the staff that they do many kids birthday parties, which keeps the courses busy on the weekends. While it was busy, all the players did move at a courteous speed but it's not regulated so it's really just on the customers to regulate their speed of play. The holes are all fun and made well. The decor is weathered but cute. I had a really positive experience at Pelly's so if you're looking for family fun, fun with friends, or a cute date idea, head to mini golf! read more

Super great small hidden gem in Del Mar right off the freeway. Located near the Del Mar Racetrack, this place is just the right spot for locals to come during a quick break to get out of the house. Pelly's is a fun, decent sized and challenging miniature golf course for the entire family. The area is split into two 18-hole courses- sea life and surfing/hawaiian themed course. The place is extremely clean. There was hardly any trash out. The sea course even has little messages on the importance of recycling. My family and I visited Pelly's on a Sunday afternoon and it was perfect. It was not busy at all. There was one other family right ahead of us and another one further into the course. We never bumped into each other. Both my kids did not want to leave the course... which is a good sign that we wil definitely be coming back. read more

3.5 stars! It was a fun course it has two sets of 18 holes! Nothing extravagant... it's very simple and fairly big compaired to some other places we've played. There are two different courses with 18 holes, we accidently choose the easy one... the Sea themed one is evidently the easiest one for kids it has some bendy curves and a few bumps/hills. The Surfing themed course is supposed to be more of a challenge! Which we are fine with we are going to come back and play the other one soon! There's no hiding from the sun there it was a hot day so I found myself trying to duck into any shade I could find. We took a break half way through in an adorable little pirate ship with a bench.
