My main complaints include the following: 1. One of the trainers approached me at the gym (an Italian woman with large glasses) and demanded that I put my phone away when I was changing a playlist on Spotify. I was neither talking nor texting. I brought this up with the membership director and I requested a follow-up after the trainer had been spoken to. I never received a follow-up. 2. The steam room is hazardous--the only way to turn it off is manually through the outside button. I brought this up as a huge hazard with the staff and they shrugged and said it 3. The towel drop is located inconveniently outside of the lockerroom because "there is no male staff available." There is also a sign that states that we are not allowed to put dirty towels on the ground. So basically, if one were to go to the steam room and use a towel, it's expected to get dressed again just to put the towel outside and then undress and go back to the shower and get a new towel. 4. The restaurant is only open a few hours a day. Most athletic clubs I've been to will usually have a cafe or some part of the restaurant open for gym-goers.

It was a perfect size for the kids to share and still have room for ice cream (think gas station freezer stocked with ice cream bars and popsicles). Hubby had the Ruben sandwich. Griddled sourdough (he opted for that instead of rye) topped with pastrami, Swiss, sauerkraut, and of course thousand island dressing made for a delicious sandwich. I had the turkey and Swiss sandwich. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Griddled sourdough, lots of turkey, Swiss cheese, butter lettuce, tomato slices, a little bit of mayo, and raspberry jam. Think Thanksgiving sandwich! The course was in really great shape, greens rolled smooth/true. The rough was very thick and if you get off the rough into the desert areas, good luck to ya. Several of our players lost balls in the rough. Customer service was FANTASTIC! We were playing 36 holes and had 4 tee times in the morning at 8am and had a good break in between the final 4 some finishing the first round before the 1st group had to tee off in the 2nd round. The groups in front of our times were very slow to the tune of a 5.5 hour round for our first group. They were on that group several times getting them to speed up to no avail. This caused us to miss our tee times for the afternoon round. Luckily it was pretty open and they let us play but said we had to have carts back by 6pm. Talked to the Manager (think here name was Laurie) and she said she would stay and allow us to play to finish our rounds up. We got the carts stowed for them and showed some appreciation to the manager and departed. Black Mesa is a gem of a course. It is a bit of a hike but very much worth every penny paid. The customer service was awesome, the fairways/greens were top notch and the views were incredible. If you are in the Santa Fe or even the Albuquerque area, do yourself a favor and go play it. You will really enjoy it.

They get quite a few golfers here, even on weekdays, but I am reviewing the restaurant, the Links Bar and Grill. The hours are Monday through Thursday, from 7 am until 3 pm. Friday through Sunday from 7 am until 5 pm. They seem to do a robust business from nearby workers at animal control, the dump and New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. I stopped here with a co-worker for lunch. He offered to buy my lunch, so I obliged. They were empty as it was after 2 pm. I ordered a shredded beef burrito ($12) smothered in Christmas chile (red and green). Burrito came out fast, less than 5 minutes. Large and filling, but just average taste wise. Red and green chile had no bite. Would have liked it stuffed with a bit more beef. Service was good, large portion would have liked a bit hotter chile.

(Not to mention the 2 drink minimum. ) So we were quite late getting to 10. (Enter the aforementioned Marshalls) No drink cart on this beautiful sunny, crowded day. Guess those expensive green fee aren't spent on staffing. Really nice course. Not a great feel. Definitely not recommended for beginners or high handicappers. Will stick with Taos CC, I think.

They have a restaurant but no one working, but have 4 staff members in the pro shop socializing. Need some leadership there as well.
