There's long "conference" table with chairs in the center of the room, soft sofa with coffee tables, and stool seating along the front window. They also offer free wifi access too. The drink menu is straightforward offering hot & iced drinks including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, machiatos, lattes, tea (cup or pot to stay), iced tea and cold brew (coming soon at the time of posting). They also have a few baked goods for sale to go with your drink. I stopped by Black Cat Coffee recently for coffee. I got a Medium 12 oz Hot Coffee ($3 plus tax) which was very very hot and definitely needed a cardboard hot drink sleeve from the creamer & sweetener station. The service here was prompt. The coffee was brewed just right and no bitter taste, even drinking it black. I took advantage of the free wifi to catch up on news while enjoying my hot breakfast food I picked up from another cafe with my hot coffee.

Outside the door was a woman giving samples of a local alcohol, and while it was delicious we didn't want to buy any because we would have had to check in and pick it up later after our cruise ended. The inside of the place was very small and bustling with other people and workers. You can see directly into the room where they were making the cakes fresh. It smelled so good in there. A worker told us to try all the different samples and we did! Our favorite was the original rum cake and the coffee one. We decided to buy six and they told us we would get a FREE shot at their outdoor bar if we show them the receipt. The rum cakes are delicious and dangerous because you can finish one on your own within moments because they are so sweet, rum forward and small (in a good way). We even had the worker helping us box our cakes pick her favorite couple to put in our box. Prices are reasonable and if you can't make it here, they also over shipping on their website! Everyone needs to try their amazing rum cakes at least once in their life! I demand it!

It's fragrant, a little more forward in the spices, an all around I can see why it's a customer favorite. Thankfully it was on the way, allowing us to both shave off a bit of our drive and try a new spot we'd been eying for a while. Thanks to some pictures on Google, I saw that there were at least a few outdoor tables, which was important because we had our dog with us. You need to order inside but they'll bring it out to your when it's ready. Though we only spent all of five minutes indoors, I immediately loved the vibe and could picture myself hanging, reading, working here for a while. All the tables were full at this hour, but it did not seem overly packed. The coffee here is delicious, though I can only speak to the cold brew. That said, a friend of ours speaks highly of the lattes/other espresso drinks, for what it's worth. While waiting for my coffee, I perused the selection of prepared foods -- curated with a precision I've come to expect of most businesses in this area. As some have mentioned, the food at Morningbird (and the neighboring Aviary) is Asian-inspired, as are the items for sale. Expect gourmet condiments and seasoning, alongside plenty of coffee/tea and coffee/tea-related products. It's a marvel that I didn't walk out of there with five jars of chili crisp (potentially my all-time favorite condiment). Food-wise, I got the Iceberg Wedge w/ fried shiitakes, blistered sungolds, salted cashews, vegan thai green goddess dressing and my partner got the Fried Omelette and Kale over rice w/ garlic fried rice, roasted kale, crispy shallot. Every ingredient of both dishes was fresh and delicious and flavorful, and the preparations were familiar with a bit of whimsy. The prices are extremely reasonable for both items, but it's possible that it's because they're both on the smaller side as far as entrees go. Not a complaint, just worth mentioning in case you are very hungry. Service was super fast, almost impossibly so. An enjoyable experience start to finish, making Morningbird a spot we'll certainly be returning to.

Being a small town, there weren't many options still open, so we called to see if they were still serving dinner. The sweetest lady answered and told us their kitchen closed at 8:00 PM, but they would still be happy to take us. We're SO glad we called! The moment we walked in, we loved the place. It was beautifully decorated, with fresh wildflowers they had picked themselves, the tables were set so nicely, and everything had such a warm, cozy, welcoming feel. We were seated immediately and had ice water at the table right away. The service from beginning to end was seriously top-notch. Then the wonderful lady helping us, and I'm so sorry we didn't get her name, brought out freshly baked mini blueberry muffins. OH. MY. GOODNESS. They were DELICIOUS. That was the moment we looked at each other and knew dinner was going to be good. And it absolutely was! Our daughter ordered an omelette, my wife had the steak frites, and I ordered the chicken piccata. Every single dish was delicious. My wife also ordered a blueberry cosmo, which she loved! At this point we were completely stuffed, but there was no way we were leaving without trying dessert. We ordered the red velvet cake AND the chocolate croissant bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. It could've been whisked/blended a bit better (separated a bit), but I was happy with it overall. Regarding the catering, I was a big fan of the avocado toast (super fresh and creamy and nice flavor) and tasty muffins (I enjoyed the blueberry muffin.) It takes a bit to make drinks / food, so be sure to allocate some time--this isn't one of the factory-like cafes that churn out drinks / whip out ready-made food. The interior is cute and has assorted offerings of general foods/supplies that were fun to peruse.
