Today's date is 8/31/25 and the time is 1:45pm. I've made it a point to state the date and time so that Penguin's Snowball can correct this situation with that specific employee. Stopped in after a quick trip to NC and thought that it would be nice to grab a snowball. Things that I love about Penguin's Snowball is that it is a locally owned establishment to grab a fun summer time treat and it is in a great location. Also, if memory serves me correctly it is owned by a veteran. I come here several times throughout the summer months and I love the different options, my favorite being the Piccadilly. Today I watched as the young lady, who appeared to be working alone, made snowballs with one glove on her right hand and no glove on her left hand. I stood and watched as she made two snowballs and then realized that she needed more snow. She adds more snow to both cups and proceeds to push the snow with both the gloved and ungloved hand. I had to walk away. Thank you but no thank you. Just doesn't seem sanitary to me. Again, I love Penguin's but this was a hard pass for me. read more

The SnoBalls are delicious - and relatively quick to come out after ordering - but they are pricey at $4.00 for a kid's size and only go up from there when you add in any toppings, and of course, they ask for a tip. The actual outdoor seating area is plagued by bees or yellow jackets of some sort making it really quite unusable for sitting and enjoying. Probably will not go back. read more

Excellent selection of snowballs! Everything from classic blue razberry to a cheesecake one with a FULL slice of cheesecake! Never had anything like the selection here! Wonderfully creative and refreshing. Quite a sketchy area to go through in order to get to this location as an out-of-town visitor. Not too sweet like other shaved ice places can get. The outdoor seating with umbrellas was a nice touch on a scorching 95 degree day. This was a nice break from the standard ice cream place. read more

Shaved ice on a hot summer day! I love this little stand. I love how it always stays so busy but the line goes quick! There are so many flavors to choose from... but I always get the same thing. My favorite is pina colada with condensed milk-it's so good and sweet. Of course when I take my kids, they get all the adventurous flavors and then I get to sample theirs. LOL! The kiddie size that I usually get is pretty satisfying but of course they offer larger sizes as well. For $3 a cup, its less than a drink from Starbucks so I'm ok with that. I like that it's right on the main street but the parking lot is tiny. I'll still stop by. read more

They accept credit cards and Apple Pay. Large selection of flavors; can choose multiple flavors on 1 snowball for no added cost, number depends on size option. Alas, $16 for 4 kiddie (12oz, $3 ea) snow cones (2 "stuffed" with soft serve, +$2 ea) is a bit pricey. Kids' flavor faves: cola, cherry, blue raspberry. Not so bueno flaves: pineapple and cookies n cream. No restrooms but lots of parking in shared lot. Several places to sit but most in full sun, very little shade. Painted spots on the ground help enforce social distancing while ordering. Be prepared to wait if you have a decent sized order and/or other customers are present. read more

I work down the street from this place & my husband and I decided to stop by here yesterday because it was so hot. They have a lot of flavor selections and even specialty selections I ended up getting the mangonada. The service was welcoming ! Loved the girl in the front she was so sweet!!. My husband got the Airborne snocone, I got a second one it was strawberry shortcake with condensed milk & I got my niece the fairy snocone. Everything was fluffy and tasted delicious! My wife and I visited this spot yesterday and come to find out that my shipmate for over 20 years who happens to be a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer and his wife Tanya are the owners. WOW! We really love the setup and cleanliness of this establishment and highly recommend everyone that lives near or just visiting love ones to stop by and get you a snowball to cool you off. Snow cones were amazing and they have all the topping you could think of wanting on a snow cone and more. They were nice and friendly, but be prepared to wait for your cone especially if there is a line. If you have to wait though there is nice benches to sit on. Always drive by this place out on Little Creek so I decided to give them a try. I ordered a Maui Wowie, Cream Soda and Pina Colada with whipped cream. When I was served I realized that there was another flavor in place for my Pina Colada. I would of been less annoyed if they told me that they made a mistake or was out of that flavor and ask if it was okay to put another in it's place. The snow cone was alright, I'm not used to a pool of gooey syrup at the bottom of my cup. My husband and I can agree that it was entirely too sweet, and this may be more suitable for people who indulge in sweets more than we do. The staff was pleasant when it came to taking our orders. There's plenty of parking and plenty of seating arrangements to sit and eat your snow cone. Great place for kids, I would come back but not for me, for my nieces. read more

Who doesn't love a snowball, especially on a warm day? My kids couldn't wait for this place to open for the season. Once it does we are always there. The team that work at this location is awesome and friendly. I really wish they put one on Oceanview, right by the water would be awesome. I really love the different options of toppings. A wonderful place during the summer. I go here all the time after a day at the beach or just a workout. My favorite flavor is strawberry lemonade with snow creme. The whole snow cone is all the same throughout , not as my other snow cones I've had have the bottom white with no flavor!! The staff are all very friendly, so are the costumers. The price is not bad and they do have kid flavors that come with a gummy . Snow cream is a condensed milk based liquid that soaks into the top and is sweet and has a vanilla flavor. I come here literally all of the time. The lady behind the counter, Tammy, is super friendly and very sweet. They have a wide variety of flavors and even let you taste flavors before you buy them. They even have gummies for children and smaller cup sizes for them too, and condensed milk toppings and sour flavoring.
