Our party had about 7 ppl, I want to say it took NO LESS than 20 minutes to serve some darn cookies. It took forever, the girl was the absolute slowest, at a snail's pace is still too fast for her. Anyways, I ordered the cinnamon dolce cookie and it had a little filling in the middle. That cookie was amazing! I would go TO A DIFFERENT location but order it again. Because the line was so long, we had a chance to join the rewards and got a free basic cookie. Because of course the cookie I wanted wasn't ready and the wait was 15 mins, I opted for the snickerdoodle which was just OK. The cinnamon dulce is on the money. But, this location was so slow that literally half of the line got frustrated and left. Ordered from this place last night through Uber eats, the delivery is done by employees at the company and not only were half of my cookies undercooked and deformed, I paid $5 for a Coca Cola and they didn't give it to me. I reached out to Uber Eats to get my money back for the soda And they said I couldn't get it back. They said me not getting my soda doesn't qualify for a refund. I reached out to the store and they said I have to go through Uber Eats. My son orders all the time so I decided to give them a try. I ordered the super 6 - 5 classic cookies and one deluxe. I ordered m&m, double chocolate chunk, white chocolate macadamia, snickerdoodle, sugar, and deluxe was confetti. Ordered arrived the m&m was replaced with double chocolate chunk and the confetti was replaced with oatmeal chocolate chip walnut. I understand replacements can happen but the decision to replace with a nut cookie was a poor decision. I've heard so much hype about these cookies! I think their strategy is to find locations close to college campuses. This location is located near ODU and campus housing. I was nearby so I decided to make a quick stop. Upon entering, I was greeted, but the staff member seemed super stressed and flustered. It turned out that their payment system was down, and their cashless, so the only way I could purchase some cookies is if I placed an order online and paid through the online transaction. No biggie, so I did just that and as soon as I completed the transaction, the ticket immediately popped up in the kitchen. Super quick. It just took me some time to navigate their online menu. I can understand that they must do cashless for security reasons, but when technology fails, cash is still king and it can be a hassle for non tech savvy folks. They have several types of cookies in 2 sizes, classic and deluxe. Since this was my first visit, I opted for half a dozen of classic cookies (the smaller kind). I got the chocolate chip, red velvet, double chocolate, peanut butter, and snickerdoodle. The cookies are kept in an oven/warmer so when you purchase, the cookies are served warm. I wish I would have tried it when I first got them, but I was in a rush to get back home at the time. I can see people love the cookies. The warmth elevates the taste. They are pretty decent, with a chewier texture. Half a dozen was $13.50 plus taxes. Tips - Place your order online. If you're looking to fill your sweet tooth and a spot that's open late this should be your go to! The cookies are cooked to perfection, not too hard or too mushy it just melts in your mouth. The ice cream is so GOOD, idk if it's homemade but baby it sure tastes like it is! I ordered a pint of the salted caramel and it almost didn't make it home, clearly didn't make it to the picture section for this review. If you order the combo you get two cookies and some milk. This might be a bit extra but they don't offer any other milk except 2%, whole or chocolate so no there isn't almond, cashew or anything special. Other than that I enjoyed my milk and cookie combo, it was so perfect. One thing I didn't like is the fact that the location is by ODU and it seems like they may have hired some college students that don't have the best attitudes. Empty store staffed with 2 employees, 1 seated in plain sight silently staring at me, the other hidden but eventually creeps to the counter to reluctantly dispense my order from a secret warming drawer. I tried engaging but he wasn't having it. Granted, habitually dealing with indecisive and/or drunk patrons until 3am probably isn't fulfilling. But, attentive service in an EMPTY store isn't unreasonable when (sober) customers 'dough' out $1.75+tax per cookie plus the cost of parking. I think this is where Cookie Monster would go if he needed his late night/early am cookie fix. I've only been here twice, but this most recent visit left me and a friend laughing at my captain obvious comment, "wow, I didn't realize they were open until 3am!" The cookies are warm, delicious but chocked full of sugar and I LOVE sugar. If you're not feeling like cookies, you can opt for just ice cream like my other friend did. There's not much seating. Just about 8 bar stools I believe and our crew happened to take residence on 90% of the seating. They have way more room that can easily seat more people. A lot of it is wasted space. Go here to get cookies for the family and they were out of most of the cookies the family wanted. So for a baseline this place only makes like 14ish cookie variations max. They had 4 people on staff at this time and one looked like he was sleeping on the back table while 2 were serving customers and 1 actually cooking. A bunch of us came here on a whim on a late Thursday evening. The smell will have you salivating by the time you get to order. I didn't know what to expect with this place. With all due respect, it's just a cookie/ice cream shop opened until 3am. It was the Valentine's season and so they had large heart shaped cookies available (within 45 minutes). They're available in 6,12,18 and 24 packs. They also have brownies and fresh milk. The staff was nice enough. The line though short, took us a long time to get to order, not sure why. I'm okay to admit cookies are like my kryptonite - I'm no superman, but I am a Cookie Monster; cookies get me weak, so I was beyond excited when I walked past Insomnia Cookies. Lunch time struck and I was ready for something sweet. So I walked in, took a glance at the menu, looked at the cookies and ice cream displayed in front of me (winking at me,) and waited. And waited. 5 minutes later - nada. No sign of anyone in the shop which I thought was rather odd. At first I thought they could be putting trash out the back so I'll give them a few seconds and dance like a child to the tunes playing loudly; but really, that wasn't the case. I mean come on, I'm absolutely dying to taste these babies in front of me! '...Hello?' No response. I waited a few more seconds; a lot louder this time, 'Helloooo, is anyone there!?' Inside is spotless, it doesn't look dirty, it's large enough to seat about 10+ folk with sweet teeth along a breakfast bar running along the wall and window, but there's plenty of waiting space and menus big enough to read from the other side of the room. I digress; lo and behold, a figure appeared from the shadows, out of nowhere, "I am so sorry, I had the music on a bit too loud, how can I help?" That's ok, it happens. But I have to feed the sugar addiction ASAP rocky so let's get this order going. I think I panicked. Decisions were made... ones I'd live to regret later. I paid up and walked out of Insomnia with a spring in my step. I chose the Deluxe S'mores cookie, a Traditional Double Chocolate Mint and a Traditional White Chocolate Macadamia cookie. I cleansed my palette with some water, tucked the corner of a napkin under my collar and I got involved. The White Choc was good, tasty, but nothing to break dance in the street about, but it did get inhaled in an instant. It was a tad greasy and too doughy for my personal taste, but it was warm and ready. Not too bad for a first try. Alright S'mores Deluxe, whatcha got for me!? Being British, S'mores is just not a thing back at home - so this was my moment of "crack cookaine". It was warm in my hands, the chocolate was melting everywhere and I thought 'this is it!' And so I bit into it - but - after chewing and swallowing what tasted like disappointment, I just wasn't impressed. I could taste dough, grease and chocolate and only a smidgen of marshmallows. I ate a third and left it. Uh oh. Double Chocolate Mint, DO NOT let me down. This is my fail safe, my comfort cookie. Chocolate and mint together make me feel like I'm walking on sunshine or riding on a unicorn... eh, you get the idea. I bit into the cookie with hesitation, doubt, and uncertainty - okay, not bad. I mean I can taste the mint in this mouthful! But same over-doughy texture, overly greasy and only one green mint chip in there - a bit Scroogelike there! I was overcome by sadness and again, left two thirds of a cookie.. Alas, I'm gutted as my first experience wasn't the greatest. I really trusted my fellow Yelpers on this one as there is a lot of love for I.C on here - but I will come back. I wont let this be the end of my love affair with cookies!
