Stopped in after a quick trip to NC and thought that it would be nice to grab a snowball. Things that I love about Penguin's Snowball is that it is a locally owned establishment to grab a fun summer time treat and it is in a great location. Also, if memory serves me correctly it is owned by a veteran. I come here several times throughout the summer months and I love the different options, my favorite being the Piccadilly. Today I watched as the young lady, who appeared to be working alone, made snowballs with one glove on her right hand and no glove on her left hand. I stood and watched as she made two snowballs and then realized that she needed more snow. She adds more snow to both cups and proceeds to push the snow with both the gloved and ungloved hand. I had to walk away. Thank you but no thank you. Just doesn't seem sanitary to me. Again, I love Penguin's but this was a hard pass for me.

The actual outdoor seating area is plagued by bees or yellow jackets of some sort making it really quite unusable for sitting and enjoying. Probably will not go back.

It was refreshing and pretty tasty! They also offer vegan options, including vegan ice cream, which is a great choice for anyone looking for a dairy-free treat. One thing to be aware of, though, is the pricing on the add-ons. It appears the prices may have increased, but the price board has not been updated. The board lists add-ons at 50¢, but we were charged 75¢ for each add-on. Because of this, the final total was higher than we expected. Hopefully they will update the price board to reflect the current pricing so customers know what to expect when ordering. Overall, we would recommend this place for a cool and refreshing dessert, especially for those looking for vegan or dairy-free options. Just be sure to double-check the add-on prices!

A must stop if you have company visiting. They have a great flavor offering and you can also build your own ice if you'd like. I've been a few times, but recently I took my nieces and they both decided to get the Mug flavor which is not a fruity flavor. It leans towards cinnamon, root beer and coffee flavors and it was surprisingly soooo good. I cannot wait to get that the next time I go. I also recommend their Pitaya in Paradise which has dragonfruit and lime as well.. Honestly, you can't go wrong as long as you pick typical flavors you like. Check them out the next time you have a free day to vibe out. The staff is super sweet and friendly and are willing to answer any questions. They're really patient.

And in some cases, folks would eat in their vehicle. That was the case when I went here for the 1st time. Fast forward to now, I happened to run into The SnoBall Shop when I picked up food from a food truck nearby. Let's see how everything went. After leaving a food truck right across the street, I headed here to order a snoball which I haven't had over a year. Just like the 1st time, you head to the front to place your order. Beforehand, I took a look at all the flavors available and chose white chocolate. I also chose marshmallow fluff for the topping. Overall, the snoball was good. The white chocolate flavor was present throughout and having the marshmallow fluff as a topping and in the middle helped with each serving. The snoball did melt due to the weather outside, but it was totally fine. Once again, the SnoBall Shop came through for yours truly. I'll definitely stop by the next time I'm in the area. Till next time :)

I opted for the kiddie size snowball which was a good portion. It includes 2 flavors, but I chose add-ons - whip cream and tajin and added vanilla ice cream at additional cost. I'm glad he informed me that due to the kiddie size, adding ice cream would increase the height and most likely have the snoball spill over. He offered to place the ice cream on the side to avoid spillage which I greatly appreciated. They have a large variety of flavors and the reason for the 3.5 stars was due to the taste. I had the passion fruit and tiger's blood. I think the tiger's blood is a sugar free flavor with splenda, so that may have been the reason why I wasn't loving it. I did finish the entire thing though. Haha.. I've just had better tasting at other local businesses. It's located in Primrose shopping center near the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. There's plenty of parking available and they have 3 vibrantly colored tables for seating. I'm sure their presence brings a lively, fun vibe to the shopping center that's in dire need of an update.

It's a $2 upcharge if you want it stuffed. The ice cream was good, but the actual snow cone was dry and didn't taste good. My friends was the opposite, she had watermelon and margarita flavors, and they put so much syrup there was barely any snow cone. Hers was a certified cup of sweet juice. Lol. We tried to sit outside, there at the tables, but the ants were marching one by one with their ant families out there. So we got up quickly when we realized the ambush!! Lol. I'm gonna say this has to just be a off day because I usually love snow cones, so I'll come back and stick to my regular flavors . There's so many flavor combinations you could try. I definitely recommend looking online before coming so you'll know what you want already. You can do the drive thru or walk up to the window. Check them out!!

Pretty presentation, but not the snowball experience I was hoping for…read more A friend of mine has been raving about Pelican's Snowballs, so I finally gave in and decided to give it a try. She met me there and was excited for me to taste what she's been loving--but unfortunately, it just didn't hit for me. I ordered the Watermelon Margarita--a combo of two flavors in one snowball. Right off the bat, it had way too much syrup and not enough ice. It felt more like a slushy than a snowball, and the texture just didn't give me that classic soft, fluffy shave ice vibe I was expecting. On the flip side, my friend ordered a flavor that had ice cream in the center, and she felt hers didn't have enough syrup--so it ended up being kind of dry. Between the two of us, the experience felt really inconsistent. One was too wet, one was too dry. Just not balanced. I really wanted to love this place--especially since the menu is fun and nostalgic--but for me, the flavor-to-ice ratio was off. I probably wouldn't return unless they made some adjustments. That said, staff was friendly and the colors were cute--so points for that. Just not a repeat for me

Let's see how the afternoon turned out. After having lunch elsewhere, we drove here for some much needed snoballs. Outside, it was pretty warm so we stayed in the car. Since our last visit, they updated the location. There are more benches and have umbrellas to cover them in case of shade and rain. Also, you order in the front and pick up on the side when it's ready. For my order, I selected the Coconut flavor in the kiddie's size. The flavor was just exactly a Coconut flavor and delivered. As usual, the ice tended to melt a little quick just as I mixed the ice around, but no change to the taste at all. Sophia enjoyed her selection too (forgot what she chose). Thank you again Pelican's for having the both of us satisfied. We'll definitely be back. Till next time :)
