After some online searching, I found out Yo Mama has cakes! I've enjoyed ice cream cakes in the past, and I've enjoyed Yo Mama's frozen yogurt in the past, so I decided to give it a try! At the time of writing (3/2024), their frozen yogurt cakes are $25, and it came out to $27.88 with tax. You can pick two flavors to be layers on the cake. The flavor options they had available were taro, cake batter, vanilla, chocolate, coconut, mango, pineapple, and strawberry. They also told me I could pick either brownie pieces or pound cake for the middle of the cake and pirouline crumbs, sprinkles, Oreo crumbs, and mochi for the top of the cake. I opted for a mango and taro cake (I love both of those flavors), and told them they can choose what they think is best for the rest of the cake. Looking back, I kinda wish I requested for taro for the top layer because I love the color purple, but it's all good! It was absolutely delicious, and my family very much enjoyed it as well! When I messaged them this morning, I didn't realize that they closed at two on weekdays, so I asked about picking up pagash around 4:15 after work, and the wonderful person I messaged said no worries, that he'd coordinate with the manager of the Little Caesar's beside them and I could pick it up from them instead. We ordered one waffle cone, one Snowstorm, and one milkshake. Total: $30.50. Thirty dollars and fifty cents for ice cream. At that price I expected at least one topping to be sprinkled with gold dust or blessed by a dairy priest. I paid with tap to pay after the cashier specifically asked if I wanted to tap. Cool. Fine. No receipt given. We step aside waiting for our order when I notice the giant sign saying if you don't receive a receipt at the time of order, your order is free. Well well well. The plot thickens. So I politely go back and explain I never got a receipt. Cashier suddenly develops selective amnesia and says she'll just print one now. That's not how this works, babe. Then enters Margie, shift manager and defender of the treasury. Margie immediately starts throwing excuses around like confetti at a parade. First she claims the cashier asked if I wanted a receipt and I said no. False. Then she says they can't refund me because I paid with a card. I told her cash works just fine for me, I'm flexible. At this point Margie actually pulls the cash from the register, but instead of handing it over she disappears into the back to hold what I can only assume was an emergency Supreme Court hearing with the cashier. Eventually Margie gives the refund, but instead of handing me the money like a normal human being, she tosses it onto the counter like she was paying off a poker debt in a smoky back room casino.
