Above all, I recommend him because of the beneficial results I've experienced after his massages. I've been dealing with lack of mobility issues and often severe back pain due to an injury to my lower back that occurred about seven weeks ago. It has been a long, slow recovery, even though I was in great shape just prior to the incident and I have tried to do all I can do to recover from this condition as quickly as possible. Several weeks ago, I sought out a good, local massage therapist to help with my recovery. Daniel was recommended to me at that time through Baysix, though I usually prefer a female to work on me. First, we thoroughly discussed my situation. He listened intently and I believed that he understood my somewhat fragile condition and that he would respect my concerns. I was initially worried that having the wrong deep massage would worsen my condition but I also wanted a reasonably deep massage to encourage angry muscles to loosen up and to awaken inactive supporting muscles and generally speed up recovery. He worked diligently on the mess of misfiring nerves and uncoordinated muscles in my back and neck for an hour. The massage felt great but the real proof of his capability was just how good my back and neck felt the following 2 days. I felt better than I'd felt since before the injury! Much better. Up to that point, my recovery had been very slow, though the PT was beginning to stabilize my lower back. I couldn't believe that I could feel, and actually be, so much better so quickly after a single massage. Daniel has worked on my back, shoulders and stiff neck several more times since then and I can say that the first time was not a one-off. His philosophy and practice of how to give deep tissue massage without the usual resultant pain afterwards has worked for me and has truly helped me further my recovery at a much faster pace. Daniel is easy to work with and seems like just a genuine, nice guy, as well. And, he's very knowledgeable. If you want, he will help you understand what's going on with your condition so that you can help yourself heal beyond the sessions.

After the first 3 months, I was to start physical therapy, which I did. Unfortunately, contrary to my good experience with the surgery, the physical therapist who started my rehabilitation was extremely incompetent. Thus, instead of finding relief, the treatments left me in extreme pain.  After I tolerated and suffered through intense pain for three sleepless nights, I remembered that a while back someone had spoken very highly of their experience with Anthony Gilbert. I pulled out the business card that I was given and called Anthony at 7 a.m., and left him a message while crying. In complete desperation, I asked Anthony Gilbert to please give me an appointment and help me with my pain.  In no time, I received a call and an appointment to meet with him!  I arrived at the address located in a residential neighborhood.  I walked into an office decorated beautifully and peacefully.  I was impressed after I met Anthony. His friendly face helped put my mind at ease and after a careful evaluation, he immediately got to work. I believe it's a combination of James taking the time to understand the needs and the acupuncture technique. During my initial visit, I filled out a form to provide context on my pain points. Rather than skimming through and jumping right into a session, he took the time to thoroughly review each item and asked clarifying questions. He has a very friendly demeanor and that made it easier for me to communicate in detail where I needed the most support. I did acupuncture for the ball of foot/arch as I had been experience symptoms of pain over the past months. I'm a part time fitness instructor and did not want to worsen it. He set clear expectations that the foot may be a slightly more sensitive area and took extra caution to ensure I was not in discomfort. I felt soreness shortly after, but it went away the next day and I was able to teach without cramping in my feet for the first time in awhile!!! These guys are the REAL DEAL. After 2 years of ignoring slowly escalating elbow pain, my arms froze and I was suddenly on disability, as I could do nothing. The traditional therapies including PT had made no improvement in my condition even after 2 months. The pain levels remained excruciatingly high despite complete rest. After some desperation when I called my doctor, she suggested trying these guys as she herself had experienced some problems and had worked with them to get better. So I did, and slowly, the massage therapy released my muscles and started lowering my pain levels. After about 4 sessions with them, I slowly started resuming work. The healing of tendons is slow and painful, but often with chronic issues, they dont heal and stay stuck in a bad state. Going to JP got my healing process working. They are experts in understanding your tissues, muscles and the dynamics -- and they seriously want you to get better and not keep coming back to them. I have continued with the therapy with longer breaks between sessions and yes, I am definitely on a recovery path. I was also finally diagnosed with having posture issues that have led to long term problems like these. They run the gravity 101 studio and their foundation training classes have helped me understand correction! Its not a coincidence that they run it. They understand where a lot of chronic problems emanate from and how to correct them. They are giving me the tools to heal myself. The real test? During lockdown, almost 2 months after my last therapy session, my elbows are stable and have not gone back to their bad state.
