At my first session, Shah quickly determined how my back was curving, and helped me in many ways: 1. Gave me exercises to strengthen weak areas to support the spine. He also recorded me doing the exercises with my phone's camera for later reference (Very helpful!) 2. Told me how to sit correctly, and also the best sleeping positions for my particular curve. He also told me which hand to carry groceries in while walking. 3. Does bodywork on my neck/shoulder area at every appointment. After a handful of sessions, my neck issues are 80% reduced, and I'm hopeful for further improvements. I've learned so much about what my body needs in just a few weeks. Shah is like the Bruce Lee of bodywork. Bruce Lee created his own martial art style (Jeet Kune Do) based on multiple martial arts disciplines. These guys are the REAL DEAL. After 2 years of ignoring slowly escalating elbow pain, my arms froze and I was suddenly on disability, as I could do nothing. The traditional therapies including PT had made no improvement in my condition even after 2 months. The pain levels remained excruciatingly high despite complete rest. After some desperation when I called my doctor, she suggested trying these guys as she herself had experienced some problems and had worked with them to get better. So I did, and slowly, the massage therapy released my muscles and started lowering my pain levels. After about 4 sessions with them, I slowly started resuming work. The healing of tendons is slow and painful, but often with chronic issues, they dont heal and stay stuck in a bad state. Going to JP got my healing process working. They are experts in understanding your tissues, muscles and the dynamics -- and they seriously want you to get better and not keep coming back to them. I have continued with the therapy with longer breaks between sessions and yes, I am definitely on a recovery path. I'm glad I did - Dr. Blenio was very precise in his treatment plan and gave realistic expectations. He guided every motion and explained each movement and how to continuously work on some lasting issues that I have.
