Aaron has the ability to watch you walk and see exactly what you need to get rid of your pain. When I first came in many years ago, I had painful sciatica related to a back injury, and had been on disability for 4 years. After an initial 30 minute consultation, he recommended 20 sessions to fix my back. He had me lay on a table, and twisted and stretched me for about an hour. When I stood up, the sciatica was gone, and never came back. This was after many years of chiropractic, physical therapy, and a surgeon wanting to replace 3 disc in my lower back. More recently, I went to my doctor for severe knee pain. My doctor laughed and said that is just part of getting old, but referred me to a specialist. The specialist x-rayed my knees and said that my knees looked great and he would gladly trade with me. He injected cortisone into my knee and said if that didn't work, the only option was to inject gel. If your doctors think your pain is normal, they probably aren't going to be able to help you. I went back to see Aaron, and after an hour of stretching the knee pain was gone. I bought 10 sessions up front, so the next 9 were spent working on my back and shoulders, and fine tuning my posture. In addition to Aaron's unique talent correcting posture, he is an interesting person. His enthusiasm for music and knowledge of so many various topics make for enjoyable conversation during the sessions with him. I have recommended his services to many of my friends family, and co-workers, and they always thank me for recommending him. The downside: he does not work with insurance companies. If you are not familiar with him and his work, it may seem risky to pay out of pocket. His methods are not understood by the medical community, so don't expect your doctor to refer you. His results are so amazing, that it almost seems to good to be true. Don't let this scare you away. If you have any pain, give him a chance to show you what he can do for you. I was going to Aaron consistently 1/week for several months. During that time I was experiencing back cramps, especially under my shoulder blades, my left knee felt off and one leg was longer than the other. Aaron focused on upper body and massaged my arms so that I would stand upright and he also somehow adjusted my legs and hips which reduced the wonky knee. He showed me Floor exercises which are similar to yoga and Pilates so it was easy for me to include it into my daily stretches and before and after my walks. The facial Reposturing session is also amazing which helps train the muscles in your face, around the jaw and head and is my favorite treatment! Unbelievable. I've been getting a lot of Thai and deep tissue massages to try to ease tense shoulders. It turned out that it was my lower body that was causing the tension. After my first session here with Sean, I walked out tall and straight, with all the tension melted away. The session itself was a bit different from a physical therapy or chiropractic treatment, with a lot of focus on balance and alignment. I think to benefit from reposturing, it's helpful to have an open mind and be willing to try out seemingly ridiculous postures. I didn't know there are services geared towards posture alone until I met Aaron and his staff at the recent new life event. They are warm, caring, and quite knowledgeable, that I told Aaron he is my posture doctor. I had been suffering from shortness of breath for 3 weeks. Last week, after my 2nd session with Aaron, my shortness of breath stopped that evening. I could breathe easier and no longer felt stress from having to conscientiously gasp for more air. From our training sessions, he had opened up my chest/pecks or rib cage area, my muscle compression released its grip and I could breathe. I came to Aaron on the recommendation of two friends who'd experienced his work. I'm 40 years old and between my two knees have had five surgeries and don't want any more! I've been very active my whole life with dance, running, weight lifting, yoga, and pilates, and I've continually found myself with knee pain, swelling, and cartilage problems. I only wish I'd found Aaron sooner: his treatments are correcting the imbalances and misalignments that are the root cause of my issues, and that's something that surgery can never do. As others have mentioned, Aaron himself is the brightest of lights and one of the most sincere and masterful healer-practitioners I've ever encountered. He's generous with his time, knowledge, and caring; working with him is a joy. Things to know: yes, it's a financial investment. I have been seeing Sean for the past 3+ months and it's been such a great experience to both improve my posture and learn about my body along the way. When I first discovered them and signed up for an appointment, I don't think I fully realized how what a gem this place is and how lucky San Mateo is to have them right here in town. Aaron is literally THE posture genius and him and Sean are super knowledgeable practitioners with a passion for helping their clients restore functional movement and live a healthy life. I purchased one session from Groupon and tried one session with Aaron. Aaron is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun. He first did a general consultation. Then a treatment followed up. The method applied by Aaron was unique and out of the box. It was really a fun experience. But more information should really be given before the arrival. I was expecting a general information session, but not a hard physical therapy. During the session, it was a bit cold to change workout clothes many times. I would feel more comfortable to wear my own or some standard clinic clothes. During the treatment, certain moves are a bit odd. If more information was given in advance, I would not feel uncomfortable. After the first try, I decided not to do any follow-ups because they do not take insurance. I am happy to work with Aaron if needed in the future or take some lectures on reposturing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who has posturing problems. read more

Aaron is THE reposturing master. A couple years ago my jaw popped out of alignment- I couldn't chew or hear and was in extreme pain. Western doctors just gave me drugs and sent me on my merry way. Chiropractor was no help at all. In desperation I went to Aaron and he saved me. I started seeing Aaron Parnell after purchasing a Groupon. I've had issues with low back pain, terrible posture, mild scoliosis, sciatica, and plantar fasciitis caused by a combination of years of cycling and a desk job. I went to him to work on my poor posture. I should have taken the first signs of trouble and ran. He came into the room and sat with his legs over one chair rest and his arms over the other. How can he teach posture sitting like this. He proceeded to perform unorthodox manipulations which were basically forcing my body into a more neutral position. He hung me from a ceiling harness, etc. etc. If you feel intimidated by this, just ask to leave. Aaron claimed his methods didn't work on everybody and I'm proof of that. After my first session I was in a lot of pain and was very stiff and it got even worse after my second session. When I told him, Aaron didn't seem as concerned about the pain as he was in selling me more sessions. He told me his book was about to get published, after which he would raise his rates because he'd be in much higher demand. I still see Groupons and Yelp discounts so that hasn't happened. Aaron Parnell changed my life. I first went to see him in 2002 because he was recommended by a friend of mine. I had been a sloucher my entire life. To the point where I was having chronic back pain in my neck, shoulders and middle back. I was constantly tense in those areas and I also felt unattractive due to my head jutting forward to compensate for my balance and my rounded shoulders. I knew if I didn't do something soon, I would end up a hunched over middle aged lady. Through intense stretching of your muscular system, he makes your skeletal structure move back into alignment by moving your muscles back to where they should be. It's like the exact opposite of chiropractors where you have to go back over and over and over again because no matter how many times they put your bones back in alignment, your muscles will eventually pull them back to where the muscles are used to them being. This is why what Aaron does is so different and works SO MUCH BETTER than any chiropractic work. After my first set of intense sessions with Aaron, I was an inch taller and my shoulder bones were no longer resting on my rib cage. I have been back to him twice since then in 2005 and just this past week for "tune ups" but I have to say, his work lasts. I want to give 10 stars! I found Aaron years ago when I had a neck problem, not able to tip my head back without pain. I saw various chiropractors over the years which only gave me temporary relief. I thought it was something I would have to live with for the rest of my life. In three sessions Aaron stretched and repostured me (and taught me a lot about my posture!).
