This is honestly some of the best service I've experienced. I was desperate for a passport and Joey helped me out and walked me through the whole process. Even when I came in for my appointment I was met by really nice and helpful people. OMG, I am an old lady with no computer skills on my way to china. Little did I know what a hassle getting this visa is! I have used the San Jose office before and rather than drive to San Francisco to try and figure it out...I let them help me instead. If they never allow me in the office again, I will understand. This is where I go when I need an entry visa to travel to foreign countries. Peninsula Visa is the company approved vendor, and they provide an adequate service for those who need their services. Many foreign consulates only accept cash or money order, and Peninsula Visa can provide that (for a fee). They also do passport pictures and applications, and even have expedited service for those who need to travel quick. Their fees are a bit steep, but it buys you time and convenience if you're short on both of those. Sometimes I'll take the drive to the consulates in San Francisco, but knowing I have an alternative gives me good peace of mind. read more

I can say enough good things about Peninsula Visa and Passport, I was in a difficult situation with the replacement passport and an upcoming trip. I worked with Dave, who was exceptional. He took the time to walk through my scenario and define my options, the process the State Dept (who are buried in passport requests. He was thorough, professional, concerned, courteous and definitely knew the ins-and-outs of getting new, renewal, and/or replacement passports. The only thing I would do different, is I would make an appt with Peninsula Visa & Passport prior to starting the renewal process on my own. I have done my visa for China twice now and I'm very happy with their service and how meticulous they are when reviewing your forms to make sure there are no surprises. One of the copies of my itinerary was cut off so they have computers and a printer so you can access your email and print them again. I even got my visa before the scheduled date. These guys saved my ass from a long and costly day at the SF Passport Agency. I planned an overseas trip 6 months ago, but forgot to check my passport until 2 weeks before my trip. It was expired and too late to get express passport processing at the post office (which can take 2-3 weeks). Just gathered all paperwork stated on their website, they took a new picture, then 4 business days later, I got my new passport for a $180 service fee + $10 photo fee. A reasonable fee to avoid waking up at 5am, driving up 55 miles, paying for parking, waiting all day at the SF Agency, driving another 55 miles down during rush hour, and missing a day of business and pay from work. I avoided the $35 overnight charge by picking up my passport here instead of shipping. read more

I would not recommend these people. First, they have very limited hours of operation and a small staff which makes it difficult to get a hold of them. Second, the owner of the company has poor manners and thinks he is doing you a favor by processing the requests you are paying for. Finally, they not very thorough when it comes to checking for requirements. I had two separate instances where they "needed" some change to a document. With a thorough fact-check by professional they could have discovered any problems and made all requests at the same time. There are much better companies out there for the money. read more

While initially very responsive when I contacted them about processing visas, when I decided to cancel my order, the manager became extremely rude and unprofessional. I found another company that could process the visas I needed faster which is why I decided to cancel my order with Peninsula. When I asked for this cancellation, I was transferred to the manager who immediately began shouting at me on the phone and being very sarcastic and rude. You'd think if a company wanted to keep customers, they'd know NOT to start shouting at them. Verdict? If you're absolutely sure you're not going to make any changes to your visa needs, go with Peninsula. If you're willing to put up with a cranky manager if your plans do change, go with Peninsula. read more

It would be difficult for me to overstate how happy I am with these folks. They are extremely professional, prompt, and (don't tell them this) cheap. I needed a China visa and was not at all looking forward to the 40-mile trip up from San Jose to San Francisco (twice -- once to drop off, once to pick up). A search of the web yielded lots of visa service companies, but most of them were national and use the embassy in Washington, D.C. I wanted something local, processed through the consulate in SF. Ultimately I stumbled across Peninsula Visa. Frankly, their web site (www.peninsulavisa.com) leaves a lot to be desired, but a quick call to their office was all that was needed to get a price quote. The agent was very specific about what I needed as well (enough pages in the passport, right version of the application, etc.). The price was $150 -- $100 in consulate fees (i.e., the fee for the visa itself), and a $50 service charge. Considering it would have cost me nearly that much in gas and parking, not to mention my time and untold headaches, I thought it was a steal. I dropped my passport off at their offices (they have pick-up service for businesses) without a hitch. The passport was ready when they said it would be and they did actually call to let me know it was done, just as they'd promised. All in all, it was a completely painless experience. And I really appreciated the lack of attitude -- dare I say, courtesy? -- which one almost invariably gets in the South Bay. Would have liked to give five stars, but the junior-high web site really needs to be fixed. read more

I obtained a visa for Vietnam through this agency. The turn around time was fast and they got me exactly what I needed when they said they would. I will use them again if needed and I do recommend their services. Bottom line: They will get you what you need but don't be thrown by the customer service. These guys are tops. They pretty much know the answer to any questions you might have. I recently used their services to get my Chinese Visa. Dan at the front desk was very helpful and knew the procedure very well. When I wasn't sure if I had all the necessary documents (since the Chinese consulate tightened their visa approval process), Dan kept me in the loop and notified me as soon as he found out that I needed further documentation. Because of the prompt notification, I was able to get my visa on time for my trip. Big props to them. I think they charge around $50 bucks for normal service and more for rushing, but hey, with gas prices these days, I'd rather not drive up to SF, wait a whole day and drive down. read more

I, like many during the COVID shutdown, had to reschedule travel and, shockingly, allowed my passport to expire! US passport agencies are woefully understaffed and barely ramping up; they are currently unable to process emergency passport renewals in a timely manner. Dave was very responsive over several phone calls and email exchanges; he was honest, pragmatic and forthright; he helped me remain calm and hopeful during what was a very stressful couple of weeks. Unlike other agencies I spoke to, PV&P did not make promises they couldn't keep. But they did help me devise a strategy to secure an appointment at a passport agency; advised on all the necessary documentation; and coached me on best practices to work efficiently and respectfully within the system we currently have to deal with. I told them I needed a paper visa. They submitted an application for an e-visa, which I did not qualify for. When it was rejected, I told them they had ignored my request, and they simply said, "well you asked us to expedite this." And of course, I had to say, yes -- please do this as fast as possible. Please expedite me getting a visa, not submitting the wrong application because it's faster. I had to go to the embassy and go through the whole process myself, and they refused to refund my money. After trying a service in person with no luck, I found this service on Yelp and decided I'd lay them a phone call prior to dropping by in person. Having confusion earlier in the day with another company in regards to completing my passport renewal, I had wanted to see how this service differed or likened. On their website there was little information and the Yelp page wasn't much help either, so I directly phoned them while parked in my car. The first interaction was professional and pleasant, and of course I paid the same respect to the man on the other line. I had questioned if they offered walk-ins and instantly he drops the kindness act and says "for what" in a dead tone. I explained I needed a passport renewal, and I had last had a passport when I was under the age of 18. He then cuts me off and sounds frustrated explaining to me that I'd need to go to a service to complete my passport. But aren't they a service? It was definitely one of the most confusing conversations and I had asked him if they could offer me that or if I'd have better luck at a Post Office. He continues to repeat the same line at me - exasperated in tone and frustrated showing little compassion for a question I had asked. Mind you, I was only inquiring and was polite the whole way through despite his awful tone. He told me I'd need to go to a Post Office after neglecting the question a third time. I appreciated his knowledge, however I didn't appreciate his tone. They are a company that expedites passports and that is all. I'm in need of an expedited service since I'll be leaving within a month, but I surely will seek my business elsewhere. What an unpleasant interaction. read more

Based on what I shared with Rosalie who works there, she told me that I really should go straight to the passport office in San Francisco. She then went on and gave me ALL the information for the passport office which included the specific weblinks to get applications and appointments done quickly. She happily spent about 15 minutes on the phone with me giving me some excellent advice on how to navigate the process. While I didn't use the actual services of the company. He still managed to track me down and get it to me ahead of time. I had a visa processed for China and requested the 2 day service. I called first to ensure I would arrive with all I needed. The gent at the desk meticulously went over my application and had me make quite a few corrections. He had to go to lunch and Brittany took over. She gave me the ok and then called the next day leaving me a voice mail that she overlooked unchecked fields with an apology and request to make the changes. I made the corrections and emailed the office. They then processed the visa and charged me $450 for the two day service. I asked if they could come down a bit since the overall return time was three days from me submitting it. Evan, the boss came out and argued that there was nothing done wrong on their part. Evan also told me he was the final authority and was no way showing any incentive for me to return. I was looking for some principles on their part and their arrogant conduct prompted me to leave this review. Unfortunately there are not many choices. Update here: Evan reached out to me directly and refunded me $100 after reading the yelp review. I will keep giving them my business. Changing one star to three. read more

I was tasked with getting two employees China visas - China is notoriously hard to get into. Peninsula Visa has a fabulous service of a free 24-hour checking of documents. This helps alleviate any stress when you finally submit the docs for a visa, hopefully, all the missing data is flagged beforehand. Peninsula Visa counter service was awesome, phone service was awesome. The only reason it is not five stars is because accounting tasks had a few "bugs". All issues were taken care of in a timely fashion, though. I would highly recommend Peninsula Visa to procure international travel visas. read more
