I got to try the Kashmiri chai, dhaba daal (chana daal), and the chicken kebab roll. The chicken kebab was really good. The paratha was flakey and just perfect, not too oily and just a tad crispy. The chicken was also well cooked and well seasoned, and the white sauce was pretty nice as well. Nice portion for the price. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of the chana, but it was just average. Not bad by any means, but nothing to make note of. I will say, most restaurants serve this with rice, and for some reason rice was not included in my takeout. Finally, the Kashmiri chai was very nice. What a pleasant pink color. Nice balance of the spices and milk. Very wholesome, somewhat floral flavor to it.

Although not Ukrainian, this restaurant has very similar flavors. The inside was incredibly charming and very cozy. The restaurant is inside of a small house. We were taken into a side room that did not have any windows, but was uniquely decorated. We shared the fruit compote drink, which was very good. We also had a Kachapuri bread with mashed potatoes and cheese and their signature dish which was meat and rice. Everything was very good in the service was great. I believe that the food was likely Halal, although I can't be for certain. They did observe the Muslim call to prayer while we were there and offered prayer mat to guests who wanted to pray. We felt very welcome here and I would recommend this restaurant to others.

I discovered this place when trying to find something to eat after a performance at the PMT theater…read morebasically across the street. It is unassuming from the outside and seems tiny when you enter, but don't let that fool you! First, they have an entire extra room of seating in a space next door (that seems to have been recently remodeled). The menu has a nice variety of options listing hot and cold appetizers, main entrees, sides and desserts. They specialize in Uzbek Cuisine which is quite different in some areas, but also similar to other cuisines with certain dishes. There are a variety of dumpling entrees and also fried dough/fried pocket items. One of the favorites among my family is the fried pelmeni which are small, beef filled dried delights. Perfectly fried, bite sized and packed with flavor. They are served with sour cream and a sweet chili sauce, but you don't really need any dipping sauce because they are so good on their own. Another appetizer we love is the cheburek, a beef filled fried pastry similar to something like an empanada. For entrees, I've had the Uzbek plov several times. Rice with carrots raisins and lamb. The lamb is tender and perfectly seasoned. It is one of those dishes that I am stuffed but can't stop eating because it is so delicious. The pelmeni soup is another highlight. Perfect for a cold day or to give you an ultimate comfort food meal. Service is usually pretty attentive (although if you end up in the extra room it will be on the slower side but still good). There is street parking right in front of the restaurant, but if there isn't space, there is also a municipal lot about a block away. The one down side is that if they are busy, it can take quite awhile to get food. But the wait is worth it! If you are looking to try something new and different, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed!

Lots of nice places nearby to sit outside on a warm day. Based on a customer I overheard on a recent visit, they also offer order-ahead if you're in a hurry. Their shawarma wraps are just the right size for lunch (and also under $10). They offer several sides; I've tried the hummus (not too salty, like many hummuses, but a touch bland) and grape leaf wraps (large portion). One time I upgraded my wrap to a platter with rice and pita and it was way too much food (a mountain of rice). I've seen their platters with fries instead of rice and they are also ginormous due to the mountain of fries.
