Drove past dozens of times and didn't have a chance to stop in(work). Saw it was always a hoppin place whenever I went by though. Well one-a-da boys at work had a pie delivered today on-shift. It's a real piece of work. Grandma's pie, he called it. Delicious! However, he said they usually make it with fresh mozzarella, and he requests they used the shredded stuff, so be advised this might not be what you get if you order that pie. It's crispy and crunchy but still soft. The smell of the sauce is a downright pleasure compared to the warehouse full of middle aged men around me, and the cheese really is just right. The Sicilian pizza is the perfect crunch on the crust and gooey inside, the cheese and sauce and a great flavor. Great service- delivery right to our campsite and a few minutes earlier than projected. The eggplant parm sandwich was great. Fresh bread, lots of cheese, arrived nice and warm. The veal parm was a different story. Same good bread, good temp and plenty of cheese, but the meat was very tough. Even knife and fork eating was tough. My first visit to Penn Pizza Palace was sub-par at best. The crust was flavorless, there wasn't much cheese or sauce and shaker basil was used for the Margherita pizza. BUT... I gave them another chance, and had a completely different experience. The second time around it seemed that they paid close attention to detail. I also ordered the buffalo chicken pizza, which I highly recommend. The service and product here are great. However, they need to make sure they are more consistent (see attached pictures). I would definitely recommend this place if you're local and want great service and good pizza. read more

I would drive by this spot everytime i would go to Home Depot, and everytime i tell myself to stop in and see what they got going on. Well that day has came and i am writting this review now.. sorry been preoccupied with work and other things.. i have some more reviews i gotta bang out. Went in with the mind set on getting a cheesestaek... seeing its been a while since i had one, and when you get that craving for one .. yea you just gotta go and do one up. Ordered one with bacon on it, along with hot peppers. I was watching how this guy was preppeing it , he did a great job with it.. had the cheese melted in with the steak already chopped up, the onions were doing there thing in there, getting the mix on. also as he was cutting it up he threw on the bacon as he was cooking... Yeaaa thumbs up there. With the hot peppers on top and adding ketchup and a little mayo... this beast was good!! So right there you know they know how to make a good cheeseteak. Another added plus the guy behind the counter asked how i would like it to be made. Saw some of the pizzas' they had on display, they looked ok, saw their sicilian.. looked thick and good , i didn't order it but i will give them a shot in the pizza department... They have a menu which also looks good to pick at .. so on my list i want to try their pizza and wings... Something about a pizza shop and how they do up their wings... don't know what it is but i alway gotta give it a go. Prices are reasonable, friendly staff, plenty of seating.. the bathroom was clean along with the tables. I happened to be in the neighborhood, looking for the 401 bus stop. I also happened to be hungry. I looked around. Apart from being the only pedestrian in sight, I noticed this restaurant standing on the corner of the road. An hour remained until my bus would arrive, so I went in and got a cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was good, the space was clean, and the staff was very friendly. I also met the owner, who was very nice and personable. A lot of regulars seem to come into this place. This is not exactly around the corner from my house (in Philly), but if I find myself in the area again, I'll know where to go for a quick bite. read more

Good food! Everything is fresh and carefully prepared. Cold subs are made from good cold cuts on great bread. Hot Italian food options are also tasty. Eggplant, chicken and veal Parmesan have all been good when we've tried them. Cheesesteaks are as good as any you'd get In Philadelphia. The onion rings are the best I've had anywhere. I've tried a few different pizzas and have liked them all, especially the sausage and pepperoni. We usually get our order to go or have it delivered, since we live just down the street. Delivery has been fantastic: food arrives fast and is hot. Pickup works out great as well. We have eaten in only once and I liked that, too. The onion rings were even more delicious when delivered directly to our table (no lid creating condensation!). In short, I am very pleased with everything I've ever had from Penn Pizza Palace. Stopped on my drive through NJ yesterday. The staff was super friendly and the prices are good. We had pizza which was very good, nice thin crust with a good crunch on the bottom but still soft on outer crust. Also had a cheesesteak with cheese whiz- I ordered extra whiz but there really was a lack of it. The meat is not finely chopped and the cheese was just on the bottom of the roll not even on the steak. Overall cheesesteak was not very good. Had cheese fries with cheese whiz, fries came out in a basket with a side of Luke warm cheese, honestly doesn't even taste like real whiz. Staff is always friendly and polite, delivery is also available and definitely convenient. Location is a little hard to get in and out of since it's at the intersection of three busy streets. The food is always delivered hot, & usually quicker than they say. The owners & staff are extremely nice. When we do eat there the food is always fresh & brought quickly. The place is always very clean, & the prices are reasonable. The menu has a lot of good choices. I usually order a cheese hoagie, provolone only, but just half the amount of cheese. They're the only place that gets it perfect every time! Word of warning, if you order the spaghetti, be prepared. It includes a nice salad & bread, & you will have to take leftovers home. I don't trust these guys. They are the only delivery place I have ordered from that asks for the 3 digit code on your card when you pay with a credit card. They have your name, your address, your card and the expiration. By asking for the 3 digit code, any of their minimum wage employees can go on a spending spree and you would not notice until the bill comes in. They lost my business because of this. There are many other delivery places in the area that you can order from and it worry about someone ruining your credit. read more
