Great outdoor dining setup but the wait time on weekends can be long. Food is standard fare. Great for people watching. Kid and family friendly.

Solid spot for lunch with a cute outdoor patio! My friends and I came here for a late lunch/early dinner. I had the Moscow mule to drink and it was good! We also shared the edamame and hummus plate to start. Both were good, but the edamame really hit the spot. For my main entree, I had the Buffalo chicken wrap that comes with house made chips. I really enjoyed it! It had great flavor and the chicken was super crispy. I love me some homemade chips, so they really hit the spot! All in all, this is a great no frills spot. I enjoyed sitting outside and catching up with my friends!

Friendly neighborhood tavern on restaurant row, State Street, Doylestown, PA., with above average draft list and decent kitchen. It was crowded for a late lunchtime on a state holiday, but we grabbed two stools at the bottom of the bar and settled in for afternoon dejeune and conversation. Noisy room as might be expected, but not so much that we couldn't hear each other. Our luck that my old friend knew the owner and we received a lot of attention. I ordered their pierogi tapas, a half dozen dough pockets of mashed potato and cheese with sautéed onion on top. My buddy went with a large green salad with chicken. We managed to consume everything between extended chats with a neighboring bar person who wanted to join our talk about nursing and law, and the owner who was big into skiing as was my companion's family. The pierogi were described as homemade, but were pretty much average. Thicker skinned, they were a bit chewier than necessary, but still a decent snack. My friend said nothing about his salad, but ate all of it. Overall, a pleasant winter afternoon diversion in a hometown bar in the cozy part of Doylestown Borough. PRO TIP - Parking is a challenge. Be on the lookout before you reach your destination.

Excellent craft brew selection and friendly service. I ordered the veggie burger which was just a Dr. Praeger burger on a decent bun with garlic aioli, lettuce, onion, tomato and white American cheese. They gave me the top of a tomato (see picture) that's usually discarded. The fries were just frozen fries. There were not many vegetarian options on the menu and the food was just your average pub grub. Beers were pricy at $9 for a 12oz. Nothing special about this place.

Stopped in and it was decent, had a burger and fries. Two drafts. Prices seemed okay, food was alright too. Nice little spot on the main stretch.

My husband and I love Doylestown and were looking to try a new place for lunch. Spontaneously came across this gem! From the hostess to the waiter, we had an absolutely great experience. We sat outside. It felt like we were back in Europe not PA! We loved the atmosphere and decor inside and outdoors. We had chicken quesadillas, fish and chips and somehow I only captured a photo of the Truffle burger. Such a delightful place and a must try. P.S, those potatoes are life!

Great outdoor seating area. Pretty good beer selection. Food is bland and flavorless. Come here for the ambiance and drinks. Skip the food.

Went here for a date. The wings were FANTASTIC, the wine was a good pour, and we were able to sit outside with my pooch.

The building is very historic with a small and lively bar and a narrow winding staircase to get to the quaint second floor area where we dined. Most of the tables had a sofa seating option and some eclectic groupings of chairs. Our server was friendly and efficient. We planned to begin our meal with the grilled octopus (that had an interesting preparation including broccoli rabe and raisins) but they were out of the octopus. We pivoted to the fennel salad which included shaved cheese, celery, pine nuts and a zesty lemon dressing. We'll try the octopus next time but we were very pleased with the salad. For our entrees we enjoyed the grilled scallops and the sea bass. Both were delicious. Highly recommend The Salt House.

String beans, not my favorite vegetable, were delicious -- crisp and very garlicky. The menu says 'almondine' but I don't think they were. The beet puree is a nice aesthetic touch, albeit lacking distinct flavor. T went with the restaurant's spin on pot pie. The filling (roast chicken, carrots, onions, peas, celery and potatoes) was excellent. The pastry topping, somewhat brittle. We chose the Hattery because I had one thing in mind: al fresco dining. There are maybe five tables on the patio out front. The restaurant was formerly a hat factory (no surprise), cigar shop, shoe store and speakeasy during prohibition. It's located on the first floor of the historic Doylestown Inn, which is still in operation. (Note my photo of the lobby.) The Hattery's menu isn't extensive, but I think they cover most bases. It's worth a look if you happen to be downtown. But don't order a margarita if it's some kind of fruit concoction. We both gave it thumbs down.
