It took me years but I finally found THE hairstylist. My mom introduced me to Trenette and now both her, I, and even my teenage brother and his friends go to her. I always leave her salon feeling like a million bucks. I am obsessed with the color she puts on my hair and have never been able to find anyone who can match it. It's a dark brown that almost looks black with a purple tint in the sunlight. Her cuts are spot on as well. She works quick but the quality is always top notch. It's a fun atmosphere since she shares the space with her sister who also is a hairdresser. It makes you feel more like going to a friends house than sitting in a stuffy high end salon. I went to her before I did my engagement pictures, before my wedding, and last night before our anniversary dinner. I'm so happy I did! I don't even live in Dallas anymore but each time I come to town I make it a priority to get an appointment. You really can't beat her price and friendly service. So lucky I found her! read more

The other reviews sound just like my experience. I mentioned I was trying to grow my medium length thin hair. I asked for a slight trim and a blunt cut because layers do not work on my hair. She took off about 3 inches and cut layers. I cried for days and finally was able to find someone 2 months later to fix the damage that was done with that horrible cut. Not sure what she did with the highlights either because my hair was fried. That was a first for me. I've been deep conditioning ever since. Besides the worst hair cut and color I've ever had, I had to sit and listen to them (sisters) talk about their familiy drama in a cramped, dirty, unprofessional room in a salon suite type of place. I cannot begin to explain how awful and unprofessional this salon is. My appointment ran an hour late and I was explained that even though I had prepaid for a cut/full highlights/and style, that I would only be getting a haircut. My hairstylist (Tiffany) was so rude that after I explained that I had paid for more than a haircut I was told I could leave. Worst hair experience of my life!!!!! Had to share! read more

I've been having Trenette do my hair for over 3 years and not only do I have great looking hair but I look forward to the time I spend in the salon. Trenette has taken me from a very short asymmetrical bob to growing out my hair to my shoulders now - highlights, low lights, bangs, purple extensions for a party, red, brown, blonde - we've done it all! It is true, Trenette and her sister, Tiffany, both work in the salon and are chatty - I'm chatty too and we are always laughing during my time with them. My Mom lives in CA and when she comes to visit, we always book her an appointment for a cut because she says she can't find anyone in CA who cuts her hair as well as Trenette. read more

I have naturally curly hair, so highlights have to look great both straight and curly for me. I saw the reviews and tried out the salon a little over a year ago. I love my highlights! Last week I took two daughters in to have 10 inches of hair cut for Locks for Love. One girl's hair was cut 14 inches. The older girl, 14 years old, had 15 inches cut. She was hysterical during the entire haircut. They had no right to take it upon themselves to cut so much extra hair. In addition, my eldest got the worst haircut that I have ever seen. It was so awful that she did not want to go to school today - for the first time in her life. Run, do not walk, to get away from this so called "Salon". If I could give minus stars I would.I had to give one star to have this posted. I hope they have the opportunity to be as miserable as they have made my daughter. read more

I had such a horrible experience and I didn't even end up going to the salon. Based on the reviews, it sounds like I'm glad I didn't. I was rescheduled TWICE after I had made an appointment (taken out time from my crazy busy schedule). I moved from California; when I lived in California, I always went to high end Salons. Since moving to the Dallas area, this salon was recommended to me by a co worker. I called to make my first appointment and was lucky enough to get in within 2 days. Anyone who has a great stylist knows how hard that is to come by. I am very daring with my hair and I found a wonderful stylist who is willing to take risks with me, I have never been disappointed! I have seen over the last year all the color that this salon provides, it all looks fabulous! I went from dark hair past the shoulders to lots of highlights to pixie short dark brown again and now I'm platinum growing it out. I have people who approach me all the time wanting to know who my stylist is and have referred this salon over and over. The referrals that have gone are now clients. The service is fantastic, the location is very convenient and the price you can't beat. I always look forward to getting my hair done. I'm so glad that I found Penny Lane!! read more

My experience was similar to the other reviewers. Not happy at all how the haircolor came out and the overall experence. The salon is inside a multi-salon location called Belleza salons on Preston road , next to Fadi's restaurant, who rents rooms to different stylists/salons. The sister stylists Trenette and Tiffany do no seem very professional. They pay more attention to their gossip and stories of their lives than paying attention to customer needs. I went with a Groupon and mentioned what I wanted to be done. Rather than providing any suggestion on color choices and cut, she gave a book to me and made me choose in a hurry a color that whould not suit me. Trenette was trying to color two ladies at the same time. Definitely the experience suffered as she was unattentive to her clients. While waiting to get service, their hairdryer blew out. The stylists shared one hairdryer. It is a hair salon and when you do not have another spare back up hair dryer that tells how unprofessional the stylists are. Will not be back. read more

I went as a new client to this salon for a keratin treatment --something I have had done many times over the years One of the requirements of this sort of treatment is you cant wash your hair or get it wet etc. for 2 days. That being said, It still should look good and not be stiff. The whole reason I get a keratin treatment is I have naturally curly/frizzy hair and this straightens my hair for 3-4 months and I don't have to flat iron it every day damaging my hair more etc. Regardless of the instructions not to wash/wet hair it should still look nice-- Two other stylists arrived about 10-15 minutes before she was done and apparently they all had plans to go somewhere --I would think that was the reason for the terrible job and maybe that's why she hurried at the end but it was an epic fail by that point anyway. When I left my hair reaked of the chemicals put in my hair and my hair was stiff as a board --to the point I couldn't even run my fingers thru. When I flat iron my hair I always have a difficult time getting the hair in back straight especially the layer underneath--I could still feel the layer of hair still curly underneath even before I left. I went home my hair still smelled like a perm being processed. Two days later I washed my hair and the odor wasn't quite so strong, but I still could not run my fingers thru my hair. Its A LITTLE less curly now but still have to flat iron it as if I never had this done. I was extremely disappointed by the service and the outcome especially since I tipped her $20.
