Quick stop on our way thru to South Dakota. Friendly service and good food. Walking in you seat yourself it gives a Waffle House vibe & is a little off the highway.

Food was mediocre. Understaffing lead to poor service and insufficient cleaning done in restaurant (food on floor, dirty bathroom).

Nice old fashioned diner with old fashioned comfort food. Open early in the a.m. and fairly late at night.

The place needs a good cleaning. The food was just below what you would expect at Denny's.

The evening cook was touching food without gloves on. I had order a burger. Then got an attitude about it when I called him out about.

We waited 20 minutes to be seated and ordered within 10 minutes. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer (thank goodness we did) -- they were fine but the chips were kind of soggy and all the meat was at the bottom of the pile. It took a while for us to receive them. Definitely something I could've made better at home but good enough. We ordered our entrees at the same time we ordered the appetizers. It took over an hour before our waitress came and asked if we'd received our food yet, and she rarely checked on us before then. Tables that had been seated at least half an hour after us received their food before we did. She told us there was a weird glitch in the system which is why we hadn't received our food, but she wasn't apologetic and didn't do anything to try and make it right. Still charged us full price for everything, not even comping a fountain drink which I had to ask her to fill every time she came by rather than her seeing our drinks were low or empty and taking initiative (like a decent server should). When our food finally came out, it didn't come together. My dish (buffalo mac) came out first and we still waited another 5 minutes for my husband to get his wings. The food was okay. Like the nachos, I feel I could've made something better myself. Definitely not worth waiting an hour and a half for and not worth the $50 we spent. Don't get me wrong-- I understand when an establishment is short-staffed or if it's a busy night (I know a Saturday night will look different than a weeknight), but this was honestly ridiculous. Though it may have been busy, the staff didn't act it. It seems they are not well-trained. I'm also disappointed that our waitress made no effort to improve or redeem our experience. Like one of the other reviews said, it seems they have a good location with a lot of potential, but I would not waste another minute here.

First off my server, Crystal, was great. She was super helpful, very personable, not overbearing - just excellent. I ordered a 10 inch pepperoni and jalapeño pizza and a side of fries. The fries were crinkle cut fries. They don't come salted, which is fine because she told me they didn't and I just added salt myself. There was nothing special about them. They were just crinkle cut fries. The pizza was a hand tossed crust, clearly not frozen or a shell which is delightful. Cheese was good pepperoni was a little crispy, which I really like, but you don't really get a lot and the jalapeños were crispy and zippy. The overall taste was good. The sauce was a little nondescript, but on the whole I thought it was really good. I would definitely get it again if I'm in North Platte. As far as ambience goes, a casual dining spot with a bar. The menu is typical bar food: Sandwiches, hamburgers, fried appetizers, wings pizza.

I ordered the daily special and it was steak bites with sweet potato fries and coleslaw, as well as 2 dinner rolls. The rolls must have been heated in the microwave because they were tough. The salmon was good, but the white gravy on the mashed potatoes had a lot of pepper in them. Initially the waitress forgot to bring the mashed potatoes. The hash browns were also good. The steak bites were overdone and had a lot of pepper on them. They were tough to chew. The sweet potatoes were good, but the meal wasn't worth $21.00. We were not asked if we wanted dessert. She just gave us the bill. We felt very rushed. We won't be going to Capones anymore. It's not worth driving all the way out there for a mediocre experience. There are better places in town.

We got the Brussel Sprouts for an app. They had a delicious sauce and they were cooked to perfection. The French Dip was the real star of the show. The meat was so tender and was probably the best French dip I ever had. The sweet potato fries come with a marshmallow/cinnamon dipping sauce that is very good if you like your sweets. We polished off dinner with the salted caramel lava cake. It was delightful. It was so refreshing to be surprised by how wonderful this restaurant was and how nice the employees were. We walked in and there are two large rooms, one dining and one bar/dining area. There is a small bar at the far end that sits around 6 or seven people. We were sat near the window and our server was Penny who was excellent. Penny constantly checked in with us and we were never left wait for service. When it came to ordering wine/cocktails, we were immediately put off by the price of wine. The bottles have an approximate 75% mark up on retail. Way overpriced. You don't see these prices even in the most expensive of steakhouses in my opinion. A glass of wine was the price of a bottle at retail. We elected to go with cocktails. For appetizers, we ordered the Wild Mushroom Brie & Ciabatta. $19 Seared Brie Cheese, brandy glazed belle mushrooms, balsamic reduction, fig chutney; served with Ciabatta toast points. This was good. Cowboy Calamari. $19 Breaded Flat iron sirloin steak bites, fried; served with gravy. I was so looking forward to these but I couldn't even taste the meat.....at all! They were so overly breaded and the steak cut so thin that we felt we were just eating the breading. The gravy was tasty but we couldn't finish the steak bites as we just didn't taste any steak. We split a Cedar Room Wedge. $16 Iceberg, bacon bits, tomatoes, cucumbers, blue cheese crumbles; served with dressing of choice. They split it on two plates and basically did a deconstructed salad. It was fine. After not having a great experience with the food and prices of their wine, we elected to leave and skip the dinner. Although we loved our server Penny and it was a cute establishment, we probably would not return.
