It is unfortunate because it is clear that the owners put money into the property and the location was fantastic. However, the upkeep is horrible. There were ants everywhere. In the kitchen, beds, cabinets, even the SHOWER. So disgusting! They would crawl over the tooth brushes and be on your towels. Not to mention ALL FOOD had to be in the fridge otherwise it was infested within minutes. I spent so much time washing clothes, boiling tooth brushes and vacuuming. It was not a vacation, I have never been so happy to be home. At $400 a night, the rental agency should be mortified. We called twice and the first time they gave us spray and a $50 gift card and then sent exterminator out the next day...which just made the ants move from the kitchen and bedrooms to the family room and bathrooms. They never called to follow up and they knew we had young children (2 and 10) Besides the ANTS, the pictures are not at all reflective of the property. There is no shuffleboard table as advertised in the pictures, furniture is different, bed spreads are not what is shown, stained chairs and old replacements are what is there. The upstairs that shows ping pong etc...is nothing more than an empty room (no light, shuffleboard, desk or rug), no bench in main room. The shower was broken as was the Jacuzzi in the master. The freezer had a broken ice maker, so you will need to provide your own ice...speaking of ice-buy your own salt too if going in the winter-as this is not provided either and the walkway was a total hazard. All in all, save your money and book at the Woodstock Inn or go camping and save yourself a lot of work and time. Definitely don't book their properties! It was really sad that we weren't able to experience the vacation we had planned due to the time spent to upkeep this home that cost $400 a night.

My husband and I relocated to the…read moreUpper Valley in late 2013, and my new company referred me to Matt McIntyre at Housing Solutions to help with finding a place to rent short term while we familiarized ourselves with the area prior to buying a house. We had a difficult set of needs to fulfill, since we have pets, and we did not want to sign a year-long lease. Even though Housing Solutions does not manage rentals directly, Matt put me in touch with several other landlords and property managers who fit our needs. Fast forward a few months. We decided to start seriously looking for houses to buy. I sent Matt a list of must-haves, nice-to-haves, and shoot-for-the-moons. At the end of the email, I told him our ultimate dream was to live on a lake in the mountains, but we didn't expect that to happen with our first house. Matt immediately responded, letting me know he knew of a house that had just been taken off the market for the winter, but was due to go back on in the Spring. It had lake views, lake access, all of our must-haves, and most of our nice-to-haves... all in our budget! He arranged a showing for us, and we both immediately fell in love with the house (although admittedly, my husband was being a bit more cautiously optimistic than I was, as I immediately began referring to it as "our house," haha). Since this was literally the first house we had ever looked at, and since we had the luxury of time because the house wasn't an active listing, we asked Matt to show us some other houses all around the Upper Valley to get a feel for what else we could get in our budget. Matt knew we weren't going to find anything more fitting of our needs than that first house, yet he patiently met with us several more times to show us another 10 houses or so. Throughout the entire process, he was very candid, honest, and helpful. Since this was our first time buying a house, he patiently explained how everything worked, and answered all of our dumb questions. I also took comfort in knowing that Housing Solutions is a buyer's only agency, and so we wouldn't run into any conflicts of interest like you sometimes can if you go through an agency that may also be representing the seller. Ultimately, we ended up putting in an offer for the first house. Matt helped us through the offer, counter-offer, inspections, and closing process. He referred us to just about everyone we used throughout the buying process, and everything was smooth and painless under his guidance. Thank you a million times over to Housing Solutions for finding us our perfect home!

The maintenance team is very responsive and helpful. The dog park is a great feature along with the club house and gym. The gym could be a bit bigger but overall is a great space. We've grown our family and moved from a one bedroom to a two bedroom in our time at Timberwood Commons. I was pregnant at the time so they even offered to help us move which saved us so much time and money. They've gone above and beyond to make our experience here the best that there is with apartment living. When heating rates doubled, I talked to them about how our Nest Thermostat (smart thermostat that can be controlled with your phone) had been saving us money- what did they do? They installed one for everyone in the complex. Amazing. My advice to anyone living here or moving in is that you go to them with any issue or request because they've been exceedingly flexible and helpful to us at every turn. The apartment itself is beautiful, new looking (even the one we moved into that had been lived in before us). We had a baby and kids living above us and rarely heard the softest of a baby cry if you were listening carefully and, having our own infant, my mom ears probably only heard it because of that. We sleep trained our baby when he was older and our next door neighbor said he never heard a thing (as we were sure to make sure this didn't disturb him). When I was pregnant and couldn't walk up stairs because of complications they modified our ground level apartment so we could walk out of the porch (by installing a door) so I could get to my car without stairs right to my car- 10 feet away. Made it possible for me to leave the house on my own which was a lifesaver (and a job saver). The property management has always been incredibly friendly and helpful with every question, request and transition in our life. As my husband graduates his fellowship soon, we will be moving soon but will be sad to leave as finding another apartment with this kind of service is likely impossible. I'd also add we share the electrical line with the hospital and even through storms where most of town has lost power, we never have- not even during the hurricane. So that's a huge plus too!

So after a few tries, I left a message asking that they contact either myself or my tenants. It took three weeks to get a call back. When I finally did get called back, I asked that they contact my tenants so they could go to the house, see what needed to be done, and give me a firm estimate. As of this date, three weeks later, they have contacted neither myself nor my tenants. What a bunch of unprofessional jerks.

The entire project went very smoothly and we were consulted every step of the way. The work to our home has been stunning. We had a major renovation completed - added front and back dormers to our cape, and a new mudroom/entry built - and we lived on the first floor the entire time the project was going on. They never disturbed our living space throughout the project and kept their work site extremely clean - they even took special care to ensure our cat was well cared for throughout the entire project. One of, if not the worst, agents selling Quechee VT real estate. If you list with him he will tell you your asking price is too high. If you purchase with him, he will tell you that the seller's house is listed too high. He is interested in one and only one thing... His commission. Find yourself another agent or agency. Dealing with him is an exercise in futility!!
