The bakery selection at this café is genuinely impressive, and the interior is beautiful -- cozy, stylish, and inviting. However, the most important part of any coffee shop is the coffee itself, and unfortunately this is where they fall short. I'm not sure what beans they use now, but the taste of the coffee is simply awful. It's especially disappointing because their coffee used to be quite good, and something has clearly changed for the worse. This place is a hidden gem in the neighborhood and on the way to the Neck Road Train Station off of Gravesend. During my stay, I frequent this coffee shop once a week for their drinks or baked goods. I purchased several croissants for my family and tried their macaroons. I love their flavor rotations, always something new to try. They have donuts and savory pastries as well. My friend ordered one and said it was delicious. She ordered a coffee (which you can't go wrong) and I tried the Summer Rose Latte, which I highly recommend. They have milk substitutes, I asked for almond milk in mine. There was also a refrigerated section, which I didn't care much for especially since the fresh items look more appealing. They have several small tables for indoor seating and 2 tables for outdoor seating. It's a great place to meet up with a friend, but not so much for working or reading. The pistachio croissant has crushed pistachios on the outside and creamy filling flavor of pistachio on the inside. It tastes like heaven biting into the soft creamy croissant. I also order the croissant with meat. Croissant with meat consist of salami, cream cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Croissant with meat taste really good. I wouldn't expect cream cheese to blend with the flavors well but it did! The coffee here is freshly brewed. *they have almond milk if you ask for it* Try their chai latte. You won't regret it. Wow this place is really relaxing to study or to hang out. I read that the chai tea latte is a must which i totally agree!! The chai tea latte has just the right amount of sweetness and the flavors are different from a normal chai tea latte. Not sure if it is the milk or something but definitely a must!! Finally a quality artisanal local bakery + coffee shop next to the Q subway and my own home :) Their hot drinks like coffee, latte's and green-matcha lattes are always on point! The Russian baristas are always professional although they seem to cycle a lot without any one sticking around for a long time so you can't really get to know them and build a rapport. The place is tiny and has only two tables to sit now with all the Covid restrictions. I never tried their desserts but do love and buy their croissants. They have many varieties of croissants and they are all savory, sweet, and delicious. The prices are on the mid to high side, not cheap, but the quality is always there. Overall, a nice little sweets shop to appease your sweet tooth. P.S. - Please note, it has no public toilet so meeting there for a cup of Joe is undesirable, it's mostly a "to go" coffee shop. read more

I can't believe I didn't immediately review this place after coming here about a year ago for baked goods. A sweet tooth to satisfy was not only satisfied, but luxuriously, pleasingly, and quickly so. Its easy location just 1.5 blocks from the Neck Rd station's southeastern most corner is attractive for foot traffic inside an area with an intimate mix of residential flowing into a small but dense, quality, and well varied commercial enterprises, mostly Russian and Eastern European. The storefront's cute bench is very welcoming as are the large format windows and clean interior. The highly organized and clean style make a confidence-boosting impression putting this first impression well above most other nearby similar businesses. The layout is excellent with clear signs mounted high, a no clutter entryway path (for the morning crush perhaps). The seating quality is good with hardwood stools, metal tables, and matching chairs. Bar seating is about 14 spots including some along the window with 6 tables seating 4 each in the middle. The count may vary based on how guests re-arrange things. I forget what I ordered but likely it was a simple hot large tea and a pastry good both of which were top. Value was high as it's low prices in this area relative to the usual midtown Manhattan existence as well as nice quantity. The barista's attention to detail was very fine and deserves praise, he spoke of the tea, its heat caution, that hot water refill was available, and overall very courteous. Excellence in service is always appreciated. Their many baked products include Eastern European breads, pastries, American-style cookies, and a full tea and coffee menu. Eastern European-oriented NetCost owns Gourmanoff which operates this outpost thus the inclination. Thank you operators for operating such a fine business. read more

Amazing pastries is the best way to describe this quaint coffee shop. Located on the side corner of Net Cost Market, place is easily missed. The Spinach Feta cheese log crossiant was ol' so buttery, warm, with crispy outter edges. There's different fillings to each log crossiant that will surely fill an appetite. Also, bought their Pistachio Creme Opera Cake, which tasted clean and less sweet. It's a comfort to know a good pastry shop exists in this part of Brooklyn. Although the clerk behind the counter knows very little Engish, she tried her best to explain some of the goodies on display. It's on a pretty empty street street with not a lot of foot traffic. It was quiet and the girl behind the register was pretty nice. Their latte and cappuccino were okay, nothing special. I had a pistachio opera cake, this was definitely too sweet for my liking but it definitely wasn't bad. The raisin bun or raisin croissant was pretty solid, not too flaky or too sweet. This isn't the best pastry place I've had in Brooklyn, but they do have a large selection, and everything does look aesthetically pleasing. Chic clean upscale bakery. When I arrived there were mostly pastries and cakes with an above average presentation. Everything was pretty good but exceptionally liked the almond cherry croissant.
