I stopped in to find out about getting some service done on my car as well as some new tires. I was also needing an emissions test since I needed to renew my tag. I figured I would ask first if they did emissions to figure if I needed to make another stop after I got my new tires. So I asked if they did that and the guy very rudely just said "Shell". That's all he said. He didn't say "I'm sorry, we don't, but the Shell station does". Instead just said "Shell". I'm not sure if they get that question a lot and get tired of answering it, but nevertheless, he could have said it much nicer. So I decided I would take my business elsewhere. Shame that he was so rude because I spent over $1,500 that day on service and new wheels. Maybe they will start treating new customers better. read more

This place is a disgrace I need a starter on my Lexus they quoted a price of 450 bucks but said they would match competitors offer so I found a competitor I would do it for $325 I paid 100 bucks to have my car towed over to Pep Boys they call me today later and see if we can fix your car then all the bolts are stripped out so I have my car towed over to another mechanic and another hundred dollars and they fixed it just fine for two hundred bucks so I think Pep Boysowes me $200 read more

Buyer Beware! These people will take advantage of you if you are not careful. My 19 year old son picked up a nail in one of his tires, and trying to be responsible, he took his car to Pep Boys in Dacula. He was also due for an oil change, so he figured he would take care of both items. The service writer told him he had to make an appointment, so he made one for 8am the next day. After waiting for two hours (despite his 8am appointment), they finally got around to him. He was told that to remove the nail in the tire, they would need to remove the tire from the rim and polish the rim so that the tire bead would seal again. Then they said it had to be balanced. These were new tires installed less than four months ago. They told him he needed new wiper blades for $30 bucks. They told him he needed a new air filter $26 bucks. They told him he needed "Healthy Air Mist" service (whatever the F_*K ) that is. Unicorn fart dust I suppose. $60 bucks. The oil change was $28 bucks, but they threw in a tire rotation. How sweet. All in...he paid $156.44. Expensive lesson for a young kid who's closest experience with a car engine probably involved a game on his play station. These guys smelled his inexperience a mile away and went all in with no lube. I hate Pep Boys. They do this kind of shit all the time. Thugs. read more

I ordered a hitch for my wife's van to be installed. I clicked on the "install in store" option. I called to verify the appointment and they told me that they don't install hitches at their store and I was to come pick up the hitch and take it to another Pep Boys. I told them that that is not honoring what the website said. They said that they would do it at their store. My wife went to get it installed at her scheduled appointment time and they said that they had taken in walk-ins and that it would be 2-3 hours. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! No wonder they are giving 20% off and a rebate for free installation. If it wasn't for that I could completely cancel my order. I will never use them again. read more

Went there to get oil changed and was told it would be up to an hour and half wait, and after that long of wait service writer came to me and said I needed front brakes. Brakes were OK on vehicle and oil was still not changed. They were trying to find something wrong to sell me, and the price of replacing front pads was going to be around $250.00 . read more

I recently went in to the Dacula, GA Pepboys. I have had maintenance performed at this location before. I had my radiator over heat, they replaced the thermostat and a couple of hoses and the repair was over $300 with a discount. Well about 3 weeks later, they exact same thing happend to the car. It started smoking from the engine and overheating. I opened my hood and the reservoir take for my radiator was boiling and fluid was poring onto the ground. I took it back to the same Pepboys, because I purchased the warranty on parts and labor. They called me later on to tell me that I needed a new radiator, fans, hoses, and fluids. They said that the repair would be $1000 and that they would do it for $800 with a veteran discount. I told the man that I would have my mechanic come and pick up the car, so he can diagnose it too. After 6 hours, my mechanic called me back and said that the radiator cap wasn't holding pressure and that to fix it with the part would be $75. This is not the first time that a Pepboys location has tried to screw me over like I'm an idiot. They were very nice, but very dishonest. This seems to be becoming a trend at the Pepboys company. I really want to write a complaint to the BBB, write bad reviews on Google.com, Yelp.com, and every other site or app that people use to warn them about being ripped off. It's not fair to honest people to be ripped off on things like car repair. I wouldn't have minded if it was like a $100 difference, but it was a $925 difference from the original quote! I really hope that you can do something about this. I'm tired of being screwed over by Pepboys. Moral of the story? Don't try to rip people off! 1 Star is giving this place a great score compared to what they should get. The manager got an attitude with me for saying that Autozone runs the engine codes for free. Don't go to this place if you're looking for friendly people to help you and not drain your wallet. There's a pepboys in Buford which has friendly staff unlike this place. read more

What a JOKE! Joey and David have the worst customer skills I've ever experienced. Rude to one customer after another. Had my tires balanced and had to go back 2 days later because they were worse than before. They hate their jobs and its quite evident. 1 star is much too high. I will start of by saying do not go to this location, especially if you don't know about cars, they will try and up-sell anything, and are not trustworthy. I have gone to this location a few times and the service each time was worst than the last, I will not use this location again. This was the third strike. This past time was for something really hard, balancing all four tires on my Audi q5 and was quoted 36 bucks. First of all this location is notorious for not being on time and very slow. Was told they would get to the vehicle in a few minutes after I had made an 1 pm appt. When they got the car into the bay to balance the tires I was told that two of the tires are at or near the wear indicator on the tires, it would be a waste of my money to try and balance them because it would not fix any vibration or bouncing, but if I wanted to continue it was up to me. I said it was fine to continue,and advised that I always balance them at milage not when there is an issue. When tech came back in I was told the mechanic wasn't going to waste my money on this service and that I needed new tires instead. He then proceeded to look up tires (around 450 bucks) and I told him I don't want new tires, I just want a balance. I was denied service and turned away a little after 2pm. Furious with this experience I called to complain. The store "manager" called me and the conversation was less than impressive. I ended up defending my position to him and then was asked if I thought the workers were trying to steal from me, which had nothing to do with my experience. It was as if the jobs of the workers depended on me or something. I was then advised that it was store policy that no tires con be rotated if the tread depth is 4/32" or lower. I replied why wasn't I told that in the first place instead of given a choice. This location is terrible and I will never go back. Each time I have brought in my cars it was always something different. The time before this I tried to get a balance on my other car (mustang) I was told they don't balance 20" rims. However after being quoted that price another man told me "no it's higher than that." I was re-quoted a price of $141!!! Went to get an oil change and tire rotation. I marked my tire beforehand so I would know it was done. When I picked up my car I was told both the oil change and tire rotation were completed and it was reflected on my receipt, but when I checked my tires, the tire I marked was in the same spot. DO NOT GO HERE! I went here by myself (late 20's female) and was told I needed over $700 worth of work down to my car. They wouldn't even bother filling my tire up with air and claimed my tire sensor was bad and it only looked flat because my wheel was about to fall off. I took the car to another mechanic. There was a nail in my tire and the only thing wrong with the car was my control arm just needed to be tightened not replaced. The other mechanic (Gwinnett Tire and Auto on N Clayton) checked the vehicle over, tightened the bolts, patched my tire and sent me on my way for free. I went to Pep Boys to get a flat tire repair, I dropped my car off before 2:00pm and they told me that it would will be ready around 3:00pm and I came back after 3:00pm and found out that they didn't touch my car and it wasn't even assigned to any technician. I asked one lady there , if I needed to take my car somewhere else she responded you can take your car somewhere else. Had my vehicle nearly two days for a tire rotation and to check brakes. Did not call me EVER to let me know that the car would not be ready by the end of a 10 hour workday( had to call TWICE). Got to the store and was informed my car was just about to get worked on (at 445 pm after dropping it off at 8am) ok , ok , left it with them overnight. Next day still never received a call so I called the store (TWICE again because no answer the first time). Was informed the car was ready at 10 am (this was at 1pm). Once I got the car back the emergency brake which was supposed to be adjusted was still sticking, in fact worse than when I brought the car in. So in summary I was charged $130.00 for this "shop" with terribly dismissive staff to keep my car for nearly two workdays. Then had the pleasure of getting under my car halfway home to manually release the E brake assembly because it was still sticking terribly bad. Called the store and was just told to bring it back in because " I must have done something, it was working perfectly when we backed it out of the shop". This place is an absolute joke with some of the most condescending employees I have ever dealt with. If you have no need for a car most the time, don't care about customer service and would like to set your money on fire AND get to fix the car yourself after it is here I suggest this business. I could've easily done what they did in my driveway but I figured naw...this national chain of stores can't possibly mess up an E-brake adjustment.....To be fair younger guy with a beard is friendly and so is Janice I think her name is. Lewis (I'm pretty sure, 40-50 year old guy, glasses, goatee) is a complete POS, that guy needs to find another job. I've brought fleet vehicles in here and LITERALLY every interaction I've had with him as been beyond negative and is just flat out unacceptable. The service started out well but when my mother did me a favor and took my son up there to pick up his car they realized that one of the hub caps was broken during the tire change. They brought it to the attention of the manager who turned angry and rude towards my elderly mother. Joe is a bully and an apparent tyrant manager. Worst Pep Boys around. I love the Snellvile Pep Boys but the Dacula location could care less. I waiting over 5 hours in the waiting area. I was told it would take 2 hours at the most. I went and got lunch and when I got back, they said they tried to call because they found multiple problems. They dialed the number wrong once and didn't try the number again. This mistake delayed my truck another 30 minutes. Worst service around. We will never be back!!! read more

I asked for a oil change they told me it would be a few hours before they even looked at it I then left my car and seen a employee driving it around test driving it about 15 minutes later, the employees were unprofessional they quoted me over $1000 that needed to be done to my car when I only took it in for an oil change then I went to pick it up and my glove department was totally taken apart it took two employees to try to put it back together they should have put it together before I picked it up but instead they drove it to the pick up area and left it like that. Went there with my two children today because I had a flat tire, (and they couldn't fit my husband in yesterday)... waited for two hours for ONE tire to be changed! Tech changed wrong tire so they had to pull it back again... and I waited longer. When I asked "manager" for a discount he refused and became very belligerent, yelling at me to the point where I had to call the police! The other employee just stood there and did nothing. When I asked manager for his last name he told me all I needed to know was Joe. They sent me and my two children home on my spare tire crying, cop said they couldn't make him provide me with services. Corporate WILL be hearing about this, as will everyone I know in Dacula.
