I was there for 8 hours on Sunday and had to come back again today and wait 7 hours. Trash in the waiting room was overflowing still (was full on Sunday) the whole coffee area was a mess and not stocked (not that anyone would want to have that) they were understaffed both days and overbooked. I also feel I got taken advantage of on cost and labor. Between both days I paid over $600! I had to miss work because someone didn't catch a leak in a hose attached to my coolant! This place is perpetually understaffed and severely slow. I've now been here twice and waited more than 7 hours total to get a leaking tire checked. The first time, I waited 3 hours and still my car didn't get checked. I left because I had to get back to work. Pep Boys seems to care only about charging you and making more money. Even when they told me my emergency brake just needed an adjustment to fix . They charged me almost 200.00 which didn't work at all. Called me and said well at least it is a little better. Not true. Wouldn't pass inspection. Also seemed to be looking for problems with car and overcharges. Spent over 1000 dollars there and never received my 100 credit for use at Pep boys when getting their credit card. Also had left my car there once to get AC looked at all day and said couldn't find the time to get it on lift. Very slow at doing work, making customers wait long time and do not seem very honest with repairs. In my opinion may have just had a bad experience but not impressed with customer support. The one guy working (not sure of his name, strong accent, older, see photo) is on the phone and waves to me. After waiting for him to finish the call, he hangs up and takes another call. Another 10 min conversation. Hangs up and then takes ANOTHER. I finally said something. He finally gets off his THIRD call and says "I hope you're not here for an appointment". Extremely poor management and customer service. The manager of the garage has a huge attitude problem, swearing at employees in front of customers. I dropped my car off for a 9am scheduled appointment to do a simple AC check and didn't hear from anyone until after 5pm - and this was after calling twice. Not only were they unable to diagnose the issue, they just told me to come back and make another appointment. Plus they left oil on the inside of my door sill and got grease on my newly detailed carpet. After asking them about it, the manager claimed they "didn't know how it got there" and assured me they put a mat down. I wouldn't come back here even if my car was on fire in front of their garage. Unfortunately I didn't know until they got around to looking at my car about 1.5 hours into my wait there on a weekday morning. Christian was wicked nice and let me know what size tire I needed, and they loaded the too big tires into my car. They even had my car up on the lift, and took it down and didn't charge me a dime for wasting their time. Second time around I came prepared for a 1.5-2 hr wait. The car was finished in a hour and 15, which was great. Overall, if you need your tires changed? Would recommend, with a little prep. I went there to get wheel alignment. When I got the car with the steering wheel straight, the car was veering off to the left. I went back and asked for paperwork to show the alignment and the print was broken. When I watched them aligning it. They didn't put any sensors on the tires. He crank some things under the steering, took it out for a drive pull it back in cranked a little more, took it out for a drive there's no way they aligned the tires. read more

Decided to get all 4 tires on my Jeep Renegade replaced here after getting a flat from hitting a huge pothole. Apparently AAA overtorqued the lug nuts on my spare tire and damaged them (have had this problem before with low quality aluminum caps on the jeep lugnuts, will only buy after market from now on). The guys at this pep boys location stayed overtime a full hour trying to pry them off so I could get my car home same day. Decided to get my four tires replaced at Pep Boys Dedham for the first time. When I went in, I told them I wanted to change all four tires and also mentioned that the TPMS sensor lights were on. They told me I had to pay $20 just to check the TPMS sensor lights. I told them that this service was included in the installation package. The installation package listed as "tire replacement and rebuilding TPMS sensor kit," so I knew they were going to tell me that my TPMS sensors were faulty eventually while servicing my vehicle. However, they preferred to charge me an extra $20 just to tell "oh your tpms sensor are not working". I already know that cause my tpms sensor light is on for a few months. After an argument I accepted the charge and they told me two of my TPMS sensors were faulty. They quoted me $80 per sensor for replacement (Town Fair Tire charges $37 per sensor). I had to accept it to avoid wasting time but it was a bad decision. A few days later, I noticed the right rear tire was leaking air and triggers my tpms sensor light. I took the car back. They serviced the problematic tire. I asked whats been done they said they resealed the tire and rim. Afterwards they tried to charge me for it. I explained the situation and told them this should be under your store warranty because i purchased tire and installation one week ago at this store. After a small arguement they didn't charge me, but they acted unfriendly AGAIN as usual at Pepboys. because they couldn't get the money from me for that service. The next day, I checked the tire again and found the same tire was leaking air again. I had enough and went to Town Fair Tire. They said the valve was leaking air and fixed it for $13. Pepboys is one of the worst tire store I have ever been. No experience, worst management, poor service. They have a terrible manager, someone who shouldn't be running even a small shop. Doesn't know what customer means. If your time is valuable, don't waste it at Pep Boys Dedham. read more

I was very disappointed in their service. Pep boys had a Black Friday sale which I wanted to take advantage of. it was buy two tires and get two free. I purchased the tires online and made the appointment. Due to a snow storm, I had to reschedule. it is very difficult to reschedule online. I did but when I called to confirm Pep boys said it wasn't on their schedule. I told them to please reschedule and use the Black Friday special since I was rescheduling within the time frame. Whoever answered the phone ignored my request and when I went to have my tires installed, Pep Boys refused to honor the special. Even though I had the confirmation and order form showing my purchase. This is the worst place you can go for tires as far as locations go. I've been left twice now waiting for phone calls in regards to setting up appointments and availability of tires. What they display online is different than what they actually have in stock. In addition you can make online appointments at the same time people are calling in for appointments which overlap and cause back logs of work. They say they mentioned it to corporate but obviously nobody cares because it's still going on. The situation I lost a day of work because I took the time off to have the tires done early. They told me the tires would be delivered on the day of my appointment and nobody ever called me. Any communication I've had with pep boys in Dedham was because I called. They take your name and number down for nothing. Service is nonexistent and I hope people stop doing business there. I see nothing but frustrated customers whenever I do go in there. My wife was also lied to when we got her tires. They said come down and pick the car up and they weren't even done w the car yet. She's a nurse working from home at times and this was one of those days. She doesn't have time to waste while trying to pick up her car that wasn't even ready. This place has the worst system if you can call it that. The attitudes of the employees is so nonchalant as if you can take your car elsewhere. They are right. They said they would not repair, pushed selling her 4 tires and lied to her telling her the nail was too close to the wall and tires were to worn. I'm legitimately unsure what the point of making an appointment was. So I wait for almost three hours, and was told at ~11:40am that they couldn't get the sensor to re set and I was told I might have to take it to a dealer. I had been there almost three hours by that point, so I told them to just take it down off the lift and let me go. So I went to the Firestone up the street to actually get my car fixed and the computer at Firestone showed no sensor at all. Also Pep Boys doesn't realign your tire when they put it back on. So the Firestone up the street squeezed me in and fixed my sensor in like half the time. Pep Boys is cheaper, but that's all it is. Save your sanity and your car and go somewhere else. read more

Its exactly the same with this shop's work and employees. You can get a simple oil change or brake work, but they'll keep you in waiting for hours, usually pushing you to go home and wait for a phone call-which rarely comes. They don't touch anything more expensive than a Buick, and if you have a problem, they will play guessing games and tell you they won't work on your car again-and that's just the manager. The only thing worse than getting automotive work done here is having to work there-it's a Sears or Midas going invisibly into a future arts and crafts or designer shoe warehouse outlet...if you can see it as a positive experience, consider yourself lucky. read more

I was told it would take a couple of hours on arrival as they were short-staffed. After registering the car, I received a text stating everything would be ready by 1 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. they began the job and it's now 3 f--king Pm and they still haven't finished the job. My experience with pep boy cannot be explained in the review it was a horror show I went in there for one thing they want to add about $3,000 more stuff on to it and what I went in there for it was partially fixed and they had my car on a Monday and after screaming on Wednesday and Thursday I finally got it back Friday and it's not the work is not completely done so I'm out $1,500 because there's no way in hell I will go back there I called corporate twice they didn't respond to me so it's just filters down I guess because never would they call me I always had to call them I would never suggest well I wouldn't suggest my enemy to go there. They charged me two working hours when the mechanic tightened a few screws for five minutes then was nowhere to be seen until they told me my car was done two hours later. There's a window into the vehicle bay and I watched the whole time. My car was touched for FIVE MINUTES and my heat shield wasn't even fixed. They're taking advantage of people. Also they told me my serpentine bent was bad but asked me to come back the next day. Not only did that take THREE hours but they put it on wrong. On 5/29/23 As soon as the location opened at 8am I called and spoke with a man named Jeff who stated there was no concern with me bringing my vehicle in to repair two flats. When I arrived I also met Jeff in person and after seeing the price quoted I asked how long this may take due to having my four year old son with me he stated that it would take approximately 2-3 hours due to have only one employee at the last bay and that he was waiting for the next employee to arrive. After waiting the 2-3 hours we called in and I spoke with the assistant manager Christian who stated that the car had not been worked on or brought in due to others having appointments before me. I politely told Christian that I had no knowledge of others having appointments that I was only told the time frame the work would take as well as Jeff expressing that he was waiting for another employee. Christian apologized and stated he was unsure of why Jeff would state that because there were people with appointments. Christian then stated it would be another 2 hours. We dropped the car off at 9:30 at this moment it was around noon. No one touched the car and no one brought the vehicle in. After hanging up with Christian moments later I receive a call to my phone from Jeff stating "I am not obligated to tell you that there are appointments before or ahead of you" I politely asked him if I could speak where he continued to interrupt me. Beyond rude that I actually just hung up the phone. How unprofessional to give a customer a call, be rude, not allow them to speak, and it not have anything to do with their vehicle. DISGUSTING ! At this point I had my husband call back moments later to check on the vehicle where he was told that the vehicle was about to be brought in by Christian and that it would be another hour and half. So me and my family waited again. After the two hours we headed to the locates where the vehicle at 2:30 pm still had not been brought in or worked on. I asked my husband if he can speak to the manager while I watched my son. After the conversation they proceeded to bring the car in and said provided 10% off and an additional discount for the inconvenience caused. As I am standing by the car YVES comes and approaches me stating "we had other appointments before you" I asked him why are you approaching me as a man and I had not said anything to you and I don't know who you are. At this moment I was extremely uncomfortable because why are the men at this location so comfortable with disrespect a woman who has a child with her. My husband at the time was still in the location. YVES takes the car in and in as little as 30 minutes the car was done. Once he pulls the car out due to his strong accent all I could make out was that their was a light on the dashboard. I politely told him " I am unsure of what you said but if the light doesn't go away I will just bring the vehicle back" which is protocol anyway when receiving work on a vehicle. He immediately was upset and stated that I came for trouble and I said how did I come for trouble. I had to flats and been here way longer then I needed to be with my four year old son. Yamille then came out who I had never met or had any interaction with and said "if it was me I'd just say fuck it, so wassup" I was completely thrown off that a man had just threatened me in front of my child and that my husband had to immediately come to my defense. Yamille was then held back by another employee who works in the back on cars and Jeff proceeded to intervene. I called my dad who told me to call Dedham police. When the police arrived Christian the assistant manager admitted that they should have never approached us and that his team was out of line. I made an appointment online the day before but still called the store to make sure they could service my car which was switching out my factory wheels with aftermarket ones. We waited 4 hours for them to put on 4 new tires that not only ended up being deflated but they didn't even tighten the bolts on one of the tires. EVERY single bolt was loose on the back left one. if we hadn't noticed when we did the tire could've came off on the highway on my moms way to work.
