I had just gotten my brake pads replaced at the Honda dealership up the road, and within a couple weeks a terrible scraping noise started happening on the passenger side. Mavis was open on Sunday, so I dropped by. I didn't have an appointment, but they took a look at my car very quickly and discovered that the dealership had forgotten to take the protective covers off the new brake pads before installing them. I went un fo an oil change and some other issues had come up. Being self employed, this time of year isn't too good so something extra wasn't in the books. However, Landon, helped me out and got it taken care of. Honestly Landon is the main reason I come back to Mavis. He was at a location near my house and a year or so ago I was disappointed that je was no lo ger there. So I was happy to hear him answer at another location when I calle a today. I was having a bad day and he put a ray of sunshine back into it. Great service. I was stuck with a flat from traveling here from out of state. I always use Mavis and new my tires were under warranty. It was 3:30 on a Sunday and stopped in knowing the closed at 5. Mr. Frantzi greeted me warmly and I told him my dilemma. He informed me the only had 2 techs, there were a minimum of 4 cars to be serviced and I could wait but it would be a while. I guess he saw my face and he said he could give my tire air and I could come back the next morning. I said that would be great. I have to say the energy and interactions of Mr. Frantzi with all the waiting customers was fantastic. He engaged us all in a group conversation and 10 mins later he got a tech (Mr. Ian) to pull my car in the bay. Again, another great employee and this duo made me laugh and promised to have me on my way. 20 minutes later Mr. Ian pulls my car up and give me the screw that was in my tire. 30 minutes in total I was there, but I would have waited 3 hours because they were fun and the place was spotless. Also, I heard Mr. Frantzi explaining tire tread wear and cracks to another female customer. He did a great job of not "MANsplaining" and respecting her intelligence. Well done, Gentlemen. read more

Within a course of a week on three separate occasions I was told that my tire was fixed only to show up and it not be done. Then when acquiring about a refund I was hung up on by Kristin. I had to make an account just to review this spot, because I have never before wanted to throw a business under the bus -- sometimes people have bad days, sometimes there are transitions but no, this place was just actually the worst. Here's my experience: So, I got a flat on Monday. I called Mavis, and was told to come in the next morning (Tuesday) and they would replace my tire for a good price in 2 hours. Over 4.5 hours later, after no call-back, I come into the store -- they tell me that they never ordered the tire (apparently, they forgot?), that they don't have it and if they ordered it then, it wouldn't come in until Thursday. I live an hour and a half north, and was trying to get home for work, so I was displeased. But I decide to go ahead and order the tires (I needed two, they convinced me) and I stayed with a friend until Thursday. On Thursday, they said bring the car in in the morning, and they would change the tires FIRST THING, within the hour - two tires, and an alignment. I called TWICE that day to confirm the two tires and alignment, just to be 100% sure because I could not miss another day of work, and I did not truly trust these folks after the first misstep. I get a call FIVE HOURS LATER saying that they had changed ONE tire, and the car was ready for pickup. ... Because of how late it had gotten that day (they were about to close), they had to call a mechanic that didn't even work at Mavis to change my second tire and redo the alignment. Here's the kicker: next time I drove on the highway, my tire pressure light came on. I took the car to my actual, trusted mechanic at home and he said my tires were supposed to be at 40 pounds of compression -- these guys at Mavis pumped them up to over 60 pounds. My tires could have popped on the road, and I could have been seriously injured. It seems that most of their equipment was broken, including the computer for alignments, tire pump reader, and their inventory management system. It's downright irresponsible that they would continue to operate under these circumstances. Try ANY other place -- Mavis is a MESS, made me loose days of work and put me in danger because of their incompetence. Apparently, most of their staff had quit the last week due to bad management -- I wonder why. One star. Not worth it. read more

Worst Customer Service with unexperienced mechanics. Ordered tires online and got a different price when i was at the shop. Agent was rude, yelling and swearing at me (hopefully cameras are reviewed ). Agent was trying to tell me why I'm being Cheap, when it's Mavis Discounted tires shop. Agent was trying to argue with me why I'm wrong and he is right. I forgot for a second that I was the customer that was about to pay over $1,000. Lol. Very unprofessional, did not get an apology either from the agent or corporate. Alignment was off after installing all 4 new tires. Attempted a second time alignment and was STILL off. Will need to find someone that is actually interested in working and getting the job right. It just seemed like they did not know what they are doing. I was informed the wheel wasn't put on properly and that's why the alignment was off the first time. Does this mean I was good to take my vehicle on a drive with a wheel that wasn't put on properly? I'm a retired aircraft mechanic. I've done a lot of automotive work. My back left brake was making a grinding noise. I started to do my brakes myself. I saw the back pads and discs were worn and it seemed like one of the calipers was frozen so at that point I decided to take it to a shop where they'd have everything they needed to do the job. I decided to find one nearby that specialized on just tires and brakes and Mavis was just about the only one I found. I didn't see any reviews for this location but I decided to try them. They replaced my back pads rotors and one frozen caliper for less than just the parts that a dealer quoted me would have cost. Considering how everything is going up in price and being a mechanic, I know I got a good deal. They were also very friendly and had me in and out of there a lot quicker than I expected. AVOID THESE PEOPLE!! was told all I need was rear pads and rotors and quoted $420. scheduled an appointment for 8:00 am the next day they open at 8:00. the tech then recommended front caliphers( said not a lot of money. an hour later recommended rear shocks for $249. three and a half hours later I ran out! Way late for everything now! Only ONE OTHER VEHICLE In the garage! End bill was $1800. The calipers were $400 each! Snuck another $100 charge to bleed the brakes ( not included in the installation?). My husband had to wait 5 & 1/2 hours for a brake job the other day, rotors, pads & calipers. He got home and realized that they disconnected his e-brake & went back down. While fixing that, they realized that they gave him the wrong calipers. Would not recommend going there at all. read more

I have never seen such UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE business! They lied on so many fronts and LITERALLY (and I mean LITERALLY) handed me the keys and pointed to the car signaling me to go away! I went there recently for a flat tire repair/replacement. A manager convinces me to replace all 4 tires and gives me a quote for their own MAVIS tire for $100 per tire or so and also for the name brand Kumho tires for about $139. I chose to go with Kumho tires. After the work is done (at 4:30 p.m. though I had an appointment at 11:30 a.m. and kept on waiting till 4:30 p.m.), I notice there were MAVIS tires on my car! I spoke to another manager because the person who initially gave me the quote had left. This manager tells me that they don't even stock Kumho tires and couldn't speak to why the previous person told me that they would be installing Kumho tires. I moved on beyond this as I was too tired. While I was driving home I noticed my car started shaking at high speeds. I called them back and the manager said it must be due to wheel balancing issue and asked me to bring my car back (they were supposed to balance and align the wheels as I paid for it as part of the new tires installation). I drove back and after looking at it they said that my rear wheels were slightly bent due to which car was shaking so bad. I asked them why it wasn't shaking so bad before and the manager told me something like my old tires getting "used to" the bent rim and now the new tires are not matching that shape. The manager said the front wheels were okay and recommended to buy two new rear wheels and told me to save money and try to buy from a junkyard. Since I didn't want to buy used wheels, I bought brand new rear wheels, got them balanced at a reputed national chain but the steering wheel was still shaking like before. I called MAVIS again and left my car there. For three days the manager kept on telling me he would look at the issue. I got tired of waiting and asked him to at least give me some ETA. He got agitated and told me to take my car back. I went to the shop and told me that a) I paid for new tires, alignment and wheel balancing so at the very minimum he should look at them to make sure and b) the steering wheel wasn't shaking so bad before I came in for a flat tire issue. He got agitated and blatantly LIED that I originally came in for a steering wheel shaking issue so the issue was there before! I tried to remind him that I came in with a flat tire and to replace it! He wouldn't listen and then told me the steering wheel was shaking because the two rear wheels were newer and different from the front wheels so it was my fault! I tried to remind him that HE RECOMMENDED to get the two new rear wheels! Besides, he made two completely contradictory statements: that the steering wheel was shaking even before I came to them (which was before they replaced the tires and before I bought the rear wheels per THEIR ADVICE!) and that the steering wheel was shaking because the two rear wheels were newer (which was AFTER they replaced the tires and I bought the rear wheels per THEIR ADVICE!). I tried to talk to the manager and reason with him to explain the sequence of events but he was very rude, kept cutting me off and finally handed me the keys and pointed to the car signaling to go away (I am not exaggerating)! Please do yourself a favor and NEVER go this  MAVIS tires in Dedham. read more

Yeah, when you drop your car at 8 am and get thousands of dollars of work done... don't be quite so unpleasant when the customer comes to collect the vehicle that was asked for at 4pm. Because, she said, we have other customers. Oh really Christine? No kidding, could have just said I don't care that you're here. It will be ready when it's ready. F your time and money. I pick my car up from Mavis on June 29th I made it to BJ's and had it towed back . It was doing the exact same thing that I had it sent there for $1,3 00 later initially I thought the car was vandalized so I had my insurance company involved but they said it wasn't of course so that's why I paid the 1300 dollars I was told it would be put in the bay after the holiday I started moving July 5th so on July 15th a new insurance adjuster was assigned to the case for my initial thought vandalism the end of July once I get somewhat settled in my apartment I asked my insurance company was going on they say they're waiting for m Mavis to tell them what's wrong .I call the regional manager Jefferson conversation didn't go well he got smart with me and I end up seeing some bad words to him sometime later I get a call from Dedham police telling me to pick up my car I didn't want to pay for additional repairs or something I kind of blanked I explained to him the conversation that I had with the general manager and how my car had been sitting there and no I wasn't up thereout when Dedham police called so I made arrangements to pick the car up the following day the tow truck go es in they don't have the key Mavis States that the tow truck driver didn't give them the key to my truck so how could I be refusing to pay for repairs if you say you never have the key. I did call Dedham police and tell them about the key situation Okay so I wait a good week and see what's going on nobody calls so you mean to tell me that car was towed and sat on your lot from June 29th 2021 and on August 5th 2021 when I call complain all of a sudden you didn't have the you don't have the key my insurance agents adjuster whatever called because again initial thought was vandalism you didn't tell the insurance agent you did have the key on July 30th you allow a car to sit on your lot not only that I can't recall the date I went but early July to get the back plate to put on a piece of s*** that I thought but I desperately need it it was tough nothing was mentioned about them not having a key the manager himself put the back plate on my car so in story to this no key call insurance call corporate office again of Mavis again week of August 16th 2021 in the end result I was told I had abandoned vehicle on the property I had two days to get it. they would have it towed off ABANDONED so there is my baby no key same condition plus a flat and a back as I initially sent it in with in the earlier part of the year read more

DONT GO HERE!!! If there was an opportunity to give a zero star I would. Was trying to surprise my mom with new tires for her Birthday made an appointment 2weeks ago. Left the car at 1 pm for the 1 pm appointment I get a call at 6 pm that the car is not ready they did not have a chance to install the tires. They we're running behind...are they kidding me! So we say that's unacceptable and these need to be done today and all of a sudden we needed another piece to get the tires done so we say ok just do it and then we get "no we are short a mechanic" and closed an hour ago. I'm so disappointed! My mom is leaving with no tires and I will never ever go back or recommend anyone to this place. UPDATE:I called the number provided was curious to what they would do to help and it was a joke they offered me a $10 discount are they serious then after I laughed the final offer was $30 off again I'm spending over $400 and that's the best you can do. HORRIBLE service!!!!! I am so upset by the "service" (or lack thereof!) that I received today from Mavis Tire in Dedham. This is a long review, but please read if you are even considering going there. I had previously used the Mavis located in the NTB in Plainville but it has since closed, so I decided to drive all the way to Dedham to go to the Mavis there. When I initially bought my tires, I purchased the free rotation and balancing for the life of the tires so that's why driving the distance to Dedham seemed worth it to me instead of paying $90 to get it done somewhere else closer to home. BIG mistake!! When I called to make my appointment, I was told Sunday was "wide open" and I could have any appointment I wanted. I was quoted one hour for my oil change/tire rotation/balance. I had an appointment with my kids in the next town over at 1:00, so I booked my car service for 11:00 to give 1.45 hours for the car service in case there were any unforeseen delays. I arrived at 10:50 and was assured my car would be done by 12:00. I left the car and walked around Legacy Place. I started walking back to Mavis at 12:15 and called to make sure my car was done. The manager said he had my keys in his hand and was heading to the back to personally START my oil change himself. What?!? My car has been there for over an hour and it hasn't even been looked at yet?! And why is the front desk guy working on my car and not the mechanic?? I said I had an appointment and needed it done. He said it would be done in a half hour. I arrived at 12:45 to find my car up on the lift. I went up to the garage and said I needed my car. The front desk guy was working on it and said he was adding oil and then it will be done. I asked if my tires were rotated and balanced and he replied, "They're all set." I went back to the waiting area and sat down, realizing that "all set" is not "yes, they were rotated." I waited another 15 minutes and went back out to the garage. The front desk guy was now sitting in my car in the parking lot. I told him I was now extremely late for my appointment and needed to go and wanted to check out. When he was checking me out, I asked again if my tires were rotated. He told me the mechanic inspected them and said they didn't need to be rotated. Oh, reeeeally?!?? I informed him that three months ago I drove back and forth to Florida and have driven thousands of miles since then. He still tried to give me some bull about the mechanic checking the treads and not needing to be rotated. I told him I wanted to pay so I can get to my appointment before I missed the entire appointment. He was banging around on his computer for a couple of minutes, so I told him forget the receipt; I'll pay cash, even though I said he shouldn't even be charging me. He made some comment about he's just the front desk guy that shouldn't even have to get dirty but was "helping" me out by doing my oil change. Seriously?? I'm supposed to be happy that a front desk guy and NOT the mechanic is working on my car and that only one of the three things I came there for was actually done after waiting 2.5 hours (1.5 hours longer than the quoted time!!) Seriously, the nerve! Then I finally get in my car .... and the check engine light is on. Ugh!!! I had to go back in and tell him the light is on, and he replied, "Well, that's because you didn't want to wait for it to get turned off." Again, seriously?!? I told him I wanted it off. He goes into the garage, and I see him on his cell phone. From the parking lot, I start looking through the bay doors to see if I can find the mechanic myself. Just then a car pulled into the parking lot. I was going to tell the person to leave while they could, but lo and behold, driving the car was the mechanic! He got out of the car and I asked him to turn the check engine light off. He moseyed over through the garage to get the computer to turn off the light. While he was doing it, I asked him about his opinion about rotating my tires. He said, "I'm not sure if they need rotating. I never looked at or worked on your car." So surprise, surprise, the front desk guy lied to me. I knew they needed rotating, so I shouldn't have been surprised. But just hearing the mechanic tell me he never even looked at them is concerning and dangerous. I previously told him I am taking a trip with my children to New Hampshire, so he was going to let me drive away from his shop knowing he just lied to my face and could potentially put me and my kids at risk. So sad this is the level of service you can expect at this shop. And one more thing, when I turned my car on later in the day, the check engine light came back on Now I have to spend more time and money getting an oil change (can't trust it was done right there), tire rotation and balance. PLEASE stay far away from this tire/brake shop!!! read more

This place is BEYONDDDDDDDDD ridiculous. I went to have one tire put on because I had recently got three of them changed by Mavis a week prior and Jim informed me that they needed to ship it to them...okay fine. I originally had the 3 tires changed out on a Wednesday, Jim stated the remaining tire should arrive Saturday. I waited until Monday before I called to get a status, he stated he would have to check to see if it were here and he would call me back. Tuesday passed, Wednesday I called him again and he stated he wants to "physically touch it" to ensure it is here (smh) and he would call me back. Thursday passed, Friday passed...no call, so I called him Saturday, he said to bring the car on Sunday. I got there on Sunday at 9am and he said he only had one guy there so far, I said fine I will come back before you close (which is 5pm). I got there about 4:20 and my car was sitting in the same exact spot, parked the same exact way and wasn't even touched. At this point I'm fuming because it does not take a long time to change out one tire and at this point this man made me waste my time because I KNOW that he does not have the tire (that has to be the only explanation), but it my irritation is the fact that you LIEDDDDDDDDDDDDD over and over again and then had the audacity to literally bring my car up there for an entire day knowing that the tire would not be changed. And then when I asked for my money back he's going to tell me that I have to wait until Tuesday before that can happen because Monday is holiday and that he normally doesn't do refund the money over the phone but he will do that for me...ummm sir please don't do me any favors I will certainly take the drive because YOU WILL refund me my money. They have absolutely no staff so expect to have your car sitting at this place for an entire day, just unprofessional and absolutely sucks. I would not recommend anyone to this place, save your money, time, and very much so getting a headache and go elsewhere. If I could give them -5 stars I would. read more

I went to this place for an oil change. When my car left, it ran noticeably rougher and I knew something was not right. I went back a second time, and they told me it was because I had my cruise control on. They turned it off, and my car continued to run tougher than ever. I went back a third time, they changed the oil completely. Then the finally ran smoothly. I have to say, they were completely polite when I came back and eventually got my car to work. But the fact that someone put improper oil and I had to waste so much time going back made me upset. 5 star customer service from Heather the front desk lady, but 1 star service from the actual car technician. I got new tires in September. Ten days later had a leak in one. Brought the car back. Waited for another 3.5 hours to be told I had a leaky valve stem. Replaced. A week later still losing air. Long story short brought car back four times. Waited in excess of probably 20 hours for the car. Wound up getting brand new tires assuming it was an issue with the tires. A week later tires all losing air. Finally had to bring the car to the dealership to have all four tires fixed. Clearly the staff is not competent. I have wasted a lot of time, money, and patience dealing with this business. Absolutely DO NOT recommend. read more
