This review is for the PepBoys on Gratiot Avenue in Eastpointe Michigan. I had a horrendous........ An extremely horrible experience. Look guy's, I am an engineer and know my stuff. At least enough . Look fella's, They tried to charge me $30 for an 18 inch long and 2 1/2 inch wide exhaust extension. A regular run of the mill cheapie. Not any fancy chrome plated pipe. A normal galvanized piece of pipe.....I SHOWED THE MANAGER an Autozone price on the web and that they sold it for $6.99 (Six dollars and ninety-nine over 100 cents lol) and the smaller black employee told me to get out when I said "Can't be" (very polite) because I showed him the normal pice and asked if he may have made a mistake... He then tried to intimate me. Yeah.... nah, that would never work but he did try it. When I said "Bud, you probably just typed it in wrong because the barcode was ripped and he just did whatever himself by searching and just picking any ol' piece that popped on his screen. He had to of (Lazy as all #$%*). I told him I would go and grab another one off the shelf (To eliminate his lazy a$$ from the equation lol) and he said "Try it and see what happens." what the heck? The pipe was in a regular Isle. Not behind the counter. I started getting angry but figured it best to just be super polite and just say it must be a mistake (I only needed the pipe.... Not a charge ). I was lifting the responsibility off of this unhinged individual.... Also, the MANAGER Steve told me "They can handle it" (referring to the tiny black guy and the other kinda cool white guy) as Steve sat oblivious and continued to play whatever game on his phone while actingannoyedfor being bothered. Maybehe lost a level or whatever ... . And guy's, I knew this manager. He sold me 5 tires for my Jeep 5 months prior.... what a loser now though. I am sending this to corporate. I went directly to Autozone on the way home and purchased the same exact exhaust extension for 6 bucks.... So.....there is my Thursday night rant . I need to go and get the welder fired up. I took my car to Pep Boys on Thursday and spoke to Chris the Customer Rep at the counter. He took all the info for my car, a wheel alignment and was adding on Shocks, After sitting for an hour and falling asleep waiting, Chris came back and apologized that he couldn't get me in as the mechanic was flooded with break jobs and suggested that I come back Thursday and offered to give me a free alignment since I had to wait with my 92 year old mom in the car. I went back Thursday and said , sorry, the mechanic had to leave as they had a family emergency, a relative was being taken off life support. He then asked if I could return Saturday as it would be a better day! 9-18-21 and he would honor the free alignment. Soo, I get there only to be TOLD AGAIN SORRY W'ERE BOOKED. I didn't see many cars in the lot nor inside the repair portion. I wasted 3 damn days just to get a damn run around and my car STILL NOT REPSIRED! Horrible experience with this store. Severely disappointed with the treatment I received from one of your employees. Get it right customer is always correct and when your oil changing monkey decides to talk to customers belligerently he needs to be fired. Under no circumstances should a Pep Boys employee treat a customer and (USA) war veteran in this manner. Pep Boys may not care about their customer base but I will personally never use Pep boys again. The young man that decided it's ok to talk to customers this way needs to be fired, immediately. His attitude and foul mouth is very bad for business. If not for the laws protecting him I would have personally pummeled his pathetic little ass. It would of been an embarrassment to get your ass whooped by an old man. Pathetic and corporate needs to be aware of how you treat the customers. Midas is 3 blocks away, professional, and cheaper. Wonderful experience. Particularly Brian (Manager) and Blaise (Mechanic) were a pleasure to deal with. They are trustworthy and won't try to scam you for extra cash. My wife slid into a curb at low speed on Christmas and another shop tried to ream us for $8K, when in reality we only had a broken tie rod. I also chose to get four new tires, brakes, and an oil change because Brian and Blaise were so nice to deal with and they hooked me up with a good price. It's hard to find honest mechanics these days, so if you're looking for one, then look no further. read more

I frequent that store at least once a month or more. No one ever offers to help me, I have to ask for help and the blonde-haired lady in the parts section is never in a good mood nor willing to help she really doesn't like her job and should find a new one. The men in the service department are friendly and helpful and the young girl that works the registers by the door is also quite pleasant. I check out pepboys, get no help or treated rudely and then go across the street to the friendly store, auto zone. read more

I have been bringing my familiy cars here for about 3 years for service. Anthony and his team are great and honest. They even told me that a certain repair would be better done at specialty repair shop and gave me the number to call!
