I always bring my cars to this shop for an oil change. I have found them to be courteous and professional. If I wait for the car, it never takes more than an hour. I was just going to make an appointment for my car that has synthetic oil and Tim told me that I don't need it yet because I only have 3,000 miles on the last change. I thought that after 8 months it should be changed and he said time is not a factor. What a nice guy! I will never go hear again even if it was all free. I brought my Mazda 3 to get a new set of tires and a oil change. I dropped my car off 11/18 at 3:00pm I was told it would be done at 8:00pm. but no. I paid for an uber to get my car to find out they need to keep it until tomorrow morning. But they didn't call me so now I'm down another $40.00 for an uber. tomorrow morning comes and by noon I called and my car hasn't even been touched. finally 24 hours later my car is done. I will have to return though because they didnt properly balance my car or return my key for my locking lugnuts. Very disappointed I will never go there again and I will be sure to spread the word on how bad this place really is. read more

Tried to get some tires installed I had shipped from Tire Rack. Called ahead and was told to come on in. After waiting 15min before someone even talked to me and was told a 2.5 hour wait. So I made an appointment for two days later. Arrived on time and was told it would be 2 hours. What a joke. read more

I took my truck in to Pep Boys and described the sound that my vehicle was making. And my husband and I both told him that we knew that the wheel bearing was bad (not so bad that it was a safety issue) but we specifically said we wanted to get that noise fixed. And we were working with the manager Chris Termini, whom at first I didn't think was bad. After about an hour they came back and said you were right the wheel bearing was bad and then they gave me a hundred other things that were bad which was going to cost me over $1500. I said well lets get this noise fixed and I will schedule a later appointment and slowly repair what you say needs repaired after I get a second and maybe a third opinion. They said ok your vehicle will be ready by 230....415 my vehicle was finished...I came up later that evening to pick up my vehicle. The guy checked me out and I went out to my vehicle, started my vehicle proceeded to pull off and the same noise was there. I stopped throroughly read my sales slip and it said still a slight noise in rear, suspect possible pinion bearing. I called instead of going back in because I was more than upset at this point that I paid to have the noise fixed that they didn't fix nor did they mention any of this to me. I called and spoke to Mike and he was very helpful and easy to work with and said they would look at my vehicle again for free. They did a few days later said yes the pinion bearing was loose and of course 2 other bearings back there. He said that he would credit the $400 I had just paid but it was still going to cost $600. By this time I very upset but I need my vehicle fixed. Found a place to do it for $500 but Pep Boys will not refund my money....they will fix it and only credit my account. Eventhough they didn't do their job from the get go. I called back today to tell them that yes I would have my vehicle in as planned originally. And Chris happened to be the one that I talked to, he had just got back from vacation and continued to argue and talk over me on the phone. He shut up once I said that I wouldn't be bringing my vehicle back in for the $1500 worth of work that it needs done on it. I explained to him that Mike and Carl are whom I was working with on the issue that you didn't fix the first time, he told me well we got to fix what's bad first. MY response was you need to fix what I bring my vehicle in for and what I ask you to do. He also said that they could not credit my account....let's just see how well this goes tomorrow. My wife and i have been dealing with this Pep Boys location for over 10 years now and we have always gotten exceptional service when dealing with them for our services needs. From Chris the manager to all the employees we have always been treated with respect and been told exactly what needs to be done and what will need to be taken care of in the future. We have always been given the best price possible and we have yet to find anyone to give us a better price or service. Took my car yesterday at 10am for high milage oil change. First, I made an appointment online around 8am - which I know is only 2 hours prior but still, the option was there so I made it. When I got there the man said we're not showing an appointment for you. I told him I just made one that morning. he laughed and said that's not an appointment. no need to be rude, if it doesnt count as an appointment, the option should not be available to make one. but anyway he said they could do it, and I said I was dropping off but needed it back that day. He said okay, so we're good as long as its back today. I said yes. A woman called me around 12:30 saying there was an oil leak, which I knew about, and said for 35 dollars they could put some kind of dye in the oil and use a black light when I came back in after 100 miles to see where the leak was coming from. I agreed. Next phone call from her was at 4:27 saying they ended up finding the leak and needed to replace a gasket and that my new total would be 237 dollars. I agreed - although I found it weird that they found the leak and can fix it now, after charging me for a dye they ended up not needing, only to find the leak later. but whatever. Final phone call was at 4:50 saying she forgot to ask me if I wanted an alignment done. I declined as I'm already paying a much higher bill than originally anticipated [60 for oil change]. She said okay, and that was it. I knew you closed at 8pm so I called at 7:22 to get an update on the car and see if it was finished so I could pick it up since no one was bothering to tell me. The phone rang and rang and the message started over and rang some more so eventually I gave up since no one answered. Tried calling again at 7:46 to find the phones were already off with the message saying you're closed, even though they should've still be on for 14 more minutes. Since more things than planned were being done to the car, i'm well aware and understanding that more time would be needed to complete the job, but the fact of the matter is that when I agreed to get the gasket changed I was not told they did not have the part in the store, that it would have to be ordered, and finished the next morning. I got NO update at all or a phone call saying I could not get my car until the next day, and my attempt to find out was unanswered. So I spent my night stressing out about when I would get my car back since I do have to work today. I called at 8:03 this morning to find out the status of my car, and a man told me they had to order the part, it didnt come until late, and they could do it now. i said that would've been nice to know yesterday. he said do you need it by a certain time? i said yes i have to work today. i was told it would be done yesterday and no one called to tell me otherwise, or answered my call, and he INTERRUPTED me and hurriedly said sorry we'll start on it and call you when its done. It is just extremely poor customer service and I wanted you to be aware that your employees are not telling customers vital information, and apparently are shutting down early before closing time. i went in for a high pressure power steering hose replacement 5 months ago dont ever take your car to pep boys in florence ky not only did they mess up the clock sensor in my car while replacing the hose that day for which they did fix. i was there 5 months ago but they unhooked the clips from the wiring harness and tore up the plastic cover that protect the wires and now im having issues that may be related to that but now they wont fix the issues they may have caused except for the cover that protects the wires if it had not ran out of power steering fluid because they did not put the cap back on right i wouldn't have noticed they screwed up wiring harness they act like im supposed to check there work when there done working on my car but if theirs nothing wrong i dont look under the hood. who checks under the hood of there car once a month just to see if the motors still there did not want to put a rating on this but its the only way it would post they fixed my car yesterday and made things like they were when i bought the car so im changing my rating read more

They ripped me off! Had an appointment at 11 am for a free tire rotation, oil change (coupon 9.99), and a wheel alignment. Told them my Ford emblem on my steering column was not completely centered as I drove thus I knew my car was not aligned. I had to wait 2 hours past my appointment time for them to start fixing my car and then it took 2 hours before they were finished. A free rotation, $9.99 oil change, and an alignment with -20% off cost $214.00 and took 4 hrs to do. The thing is my car was not aligned and my Ford emblem was exactly as it was before they supposedly aligned it. The next day my check engine light came on and when I called them the mechanic that answered the phone immediately said "it was nothing we did" and told me I needed another appointment for them to look at it. I was on my way to Tennennesse and needed it looked at that day but the mechanic insisted they were too busy and it "had' to be something unrelated to my oil change I had got less than 24 hours earlier. The soonest they could look at it was 5 days away and I as a 64-year-old woman needing my car to pick up my grandchild and bring her up to my house for a visit that day could not wait. I took it to a local garage down the street and they put it on the computer and found there wasn't enough oxygen mixed in my gasoline. The trouble was linked to the fact that when getting my oil changed a hose had fallen off from the air breather. I was so relieved to find that yes it was a very common thing that can happen during an oil change and it was nothing to fix. I had been so worried about another large repair bill the $212 Pep Boys had charged me the day before was a lot more than I expected to pay and as a senior on Social Security very dime is precious and important to me. While I was there the local garage graciously aligned my car (it was not aligned) and only charged me $50. Pep Boys apparently did not align the wheels but charged me $200 anyway. According to my new mechanic, an alignment cost $100 at most places for all four wheels. read more

I went to get my car taken care of and was verbally harassed. The associates name was Chris and he went off on me; this occurred after I called him out on part of the quote that wasn't there when I discussed with him later. The associate proceeded to raise his voice after me after I told him I would not be returning to the store in the future. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention there were children I. The waiting room and his manager was standing behind him. His manager eventually pulled him to the side in the back of the store. However, I never raised my voice to the gentlemen and yet he treated me like I was crap. Upon checkout the customer service manager apologized for Chris's very poor judgment but it was already to late for me. I would not recommend anyone to go to this store unless they deal with an associate other than Chris. Even better advise get there quote in writing before they pull your car to the shop. Or else you may be verbally harassed by someone with no customer service ability when there is a disagreement. If I miss heard him by mistake like he states then that's fine you are entitled to your opinion just don't yell at customers when your representing a bigger cooperation. read more

I can beat all of you. I paid $22 for them to break off two of my lug nuts. They then informed me that it was going to cost $500 just to fix that. I examined my car the night before and the lugs were there. I purposely stopped driving my car five minutes after I heard the initial noise that I researched and beloved to be a worn tire rod or sway link on my drivers side front shock system. I drove my car less than ten minutes and they are saying I broke the lugs. Also when I asked for video to see what exactly had been done to my car, I waited twenty minutes for their customer service manager (why he would be I charge of video surveillance is beyond me). He played the "tape" (digital recording) at fast forward for seven hours on the day my car was dropped off. I dropped it off at 10am and spoke to the store twice between noon and 1pm. They played phone tag among managers who could not even tell me if I could come pick up my car. All they said was that it was undeliverable and that it would cost me $500 to repair. Also that they had not taken my tire off... For a front inspection? To add insult to injury, I noticed four minutes around the time I arrived and dropped my car off was mysteriously missing from the hours of video I watched.when I pointed out the "lost four minutes"...they told me I was delusional and that the cameras were motion sensors. Would you not conclude that a garage full of cars would be in full motion? They lied to my face and attempted to deceive me. Then after allow that, they tried to convince me that they showed me the incorrect day. I spoke with corporate for an official claim. I still had the pay the $22 even after all the crap. I dropped my car off at pep boys on 7-12 for service to solve engine running problems - I agreed to their computer diagnostic service, engine tuneup, etc. Since that time they have run the diagnostic, replace several expensive parts (sensors, other parts) thinking this would solve running problems (no), then the engine computer, which required sending to dealer to be "flashed" . Car went to dealer on 7-15, sat their because they were backed up until 7-18 (I have no problem with dealer), contacted pep boys on 7-19 and were told that they were finally able to "flash" car successfully at dealer, but problem still existed and would possibly be solved by either replacing engine wiring harness ($6000?) or maybe by a search and find project through wiring ($600). At this point I told pep boys just to return me my car, that I was not going to spend any more money on it. It is now 7-22, my car is still sitting at the dealer. I have been stuck without transportation for two weeks now, I am now leaving to get a car at used car dealer without being able to trade in my current car costing me additional money beyond what pep boys will end up charging me for parts/services the need for which is questionable at best. At this point I am done calling/contacting pep boys concerning my car, if and when they decide to get my car from dealer they can contact me. Note - I have dealt with other pep boys locations and not had these types of problems, just this one read more
