I wanted to like these guys. Friendly courteous. Granted I've got a Japanese car and very few mechanics who don't specialize in Japanese cars do well in this market. Unfortunately I got a diagnosis of a bad driveshaft($600 part) and the actual problem is worn engine mounts. The engine mounts weren't mentioned though they were severely worn. I'm guessing you're fine with American cars and trucks here. They had a lot of trucks on the property. It did take all day to diagnose my car. read more

For real after being majorly, deliberately scammed at Bob Summeral on 42 (boo) I was gun shy to even walk into another auto shop without my husband, but Steve made me feel so welcomed and at ease with my baby. He was so honest and informative, and was considerate of my time. We just got our car back and all issues were fixed at the price they quoted me, and in the time they said. I towed my vehicle from Richmond, KY to Florence, KY to this repair shop because #1 it is close to where I live and #2 It had great reviews. My experience was phenomenal, Greg promised to "take care of me", and that's exactly what he did. My car was repaired in no time, and he explained to me what was wrong with it and why the parts needed replaced. It was Fast, Friendly, and Affordable. One thing I found unique is that he CARES about his customers, that is evidenced by his unique way of keeping track of his visitors. He has a map of all 7 continents and he asks where you are from and allows you to stick a pin on the map :) and write you name in a book and where you come from. I was visiting from out of town for 2 burial services. The a/c in my van wasn't working as it should. Stopped by here late in the afternoon. Owner took me right in even though they close at 5:30. They also gave me a ride back to my hotel & came and picked me up when they were done. A/C was low on charge. They did the service at a fair price. Were extremely friendly also. DO NOT GO HERE. Greg is a really nice guy, but I'm not paying for nice. I took my 2006 chevy hhr here to get the alternator and battery replaced. When I got it back it would not shift out of 1st gear. My dash panel was not working (spedometer,gas, temp gauge). When I asked how this could happen he said "it seems like the battery was jumped backwards frying the system" I said "okay not to place blame but your staff is the only people to jump the car" he then very quickly said "well maybe a mouse got in?" He had no idea how to fix the problem he created. I had to take it to a dealer only for them to tell me it would cost over $3000.00 to fix all the modules and transmission problems. If you aren't wanting to pay a dealership price for repairs I would reccomend Saylors Automotive 859-282-1424 they have amazing reviews and he is fair and affordable! read more

I couldn't be any happier with Grout automotive. One issue I find with many reviews Is that People often expect perfection. So if a product or business performs perfectly they rate accordingly. I think it should be more complex than that. Obviously we want good service. We want fair pricing. We want courtesy. We want timeliness. But what I also look for is what happens when things go wrong. Grout has always delivered excellent service in the above mentioned categories. But what sets them apart for me is what happened when something went wrong. I picked up my daughters car after it was serviced and found that they failed to repair one of the items on the checklist. Often businesses may become defensive, make excuses or even try to do the right thing without offering you much in return for your trouble. Grout was INCREDIBLE. Not only did I get a sincere apology with no excuses, I was given a complimentary rental car as I had to leave my daughters car with them overnight. AND the extra repair was done for FREE as it was their error. I was shocked and delighted all at the same time. I was already a faithful customer but now they have earned a customer for life. Honesty is so hard to come by these days. Greg is always honest, upfront and fair. He will work with your budget and will honor whatever price he has quoted you. I was skeptical that an auto shop could have a five star rating because, frankly, cars just break down from time to time-not everyone can be happy with the service, can they? Please visit!!!!!!!!!!!! My truck had to get jump started 2x last night. I went to him at 8:00am this morning, told him I have an 8:30 appointment in Cincinnati and to please figure out what was going on with my SUV. Literally before I could sit down in the chair in the lobby, his mechanic was pulling my truck in to do the diagnostic test. Within a few minutes I was told it was a bad battery. The battery came with a 2 year warranty that he would personally honor even if I no longer reside in the Florence area. The battery was cheaper than what was quoted to me at Auto Zone and it took no time to replace so I could make it to my 8:30 appointment. I've finally found a mechanic I can trust since relocating to the Florence area. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!!!!! I called to see if I could get a used car looked at I was interested in buying. I know nothing much about mechanics and needed someone to take a good look and tell me honestly. You know really take the time to check it out. Well this they did. I called them up they told me to stop by. The owner of the shop took the time to to put the car on the lift and check it out then also took the time to test drive with me. He pointed out the things he noticed from top to bottom and btw this was very nice because it showed detail in the quality of work! Some minor but some not so much, but he was honest! What he told me little or big was enough information along with my own research to make a informed decision, and that I appreciated so...so..much!!
