I really wanted to give this place a fair shot, especially since I recently moved to the area and my boyfriend had gone here before, but both of my experiences were beyond frustrating. The first time, I made a 9 AM appointment online and showed up on time... only to wait TWO HOURS before anyone even got to my car. Then I was told my car had "no oil" and they refused to service it. I was given almost no explanation, and I literally had to drive my car off the rack myself, worried it was unsafe to even be on the road. If my car truly had no oil, why was it sitting there for two hours untouched? Out of convenience (and honestly desperation), I gave them another chance a few months later. Same situation. I waited about 40 minutes before they even looked at my car, only to be told again that it had "no oil" and they wouldn't service it. At that point, I left and took it to my longtime mechanic (about an hour away) who quickly diagnosed the real issue: a cracked gasket causing a leak. They fixed it without any confusion or runaround. So now I'm left wondering... why make appointments at all if they don't start on time? And why was the issue never properly identified or explained? Between the long waits, lack of clear communication, and repeated misdiagnosis, I can't recommend this location. It was a complete waste of time and added unnecessary stress. I'll be sticking with Armstrong Auto Care moving forward, they've consistently been reliable, thorough, anddddddd they just opened a sister shop 3 minutes from this pep boys!! read more

Service advisor Luis and his team should be cloned by Pep Boys and placed at every location!! I was driving a Hertz rental vehicle and the tire light came on. The two rear tires didn't pass the tread depth inspection and needed to be replaced. The Hertz maintenance team emailed me a repair order number and Luis and his team sprang into action. I drove into the service bay and was told it would take 90 minutes. One of the techs said no, 30 minutes. He then asked one of his teammates for assistance, and they raised the car on the lift and two techs went to work on it together. I've never seen an automobile repair shop work in this fashion, but it was fantastic. They put the customer first!!! I had the same issue recently at Pep Boys located at 240 E Copans Rd, Pompano Beach, FL 33064 and the two front tires had to be replaced. The car was there for seven hours. I'd either have someone from corporate go there and provide proper training or fire the service advisors, who appeared to be lazy AF. I was there yesterday for the same reason as today and was told it would take two to three hours. Luis and his team at the Ft. As I was on my way to work (almost there) my car started to feel like I had a flat tire. My coworker recommended I hit up Pep Boys because it was only a mile away. The customer service I received was top-notch and they were able to patch my tire, which is almost unheard of. They called to let me know it was ready before noon and I was able to pick it up during my lunch hour. It only cost me $31 out the door. I HIGHLY recommend this business! read more

I have been hearing a rattling noise coming from my car for the past 2 months....on and off.......so I made an appointment at this Pep Boys to have it checked out. I arrived and Kevin greeted me and directed me to wait in their customer waiting area, that has a TV screen, coffee and water, as well as a restroom. I got assigned a Tech and he drove my car....no noise was heard during this test drive. I had made a video of the noise which I showed them but they could not pinpoint the main issue. Since the issue was intermittent, the tech said it's probably nothing major nor serious. I was happy to hear that. I drove away and the car has not made noises again....Figures.....LOL.... read more

Horrible customer service. I had a confirmed appointment time (6pm) for tire repair. When I showed up, I showed the desk tech (Juan) a screen shot of my confirmation email. He said the repair would take an hour and I should wait in the waiting area. After 15 minutes he came and said "I can't do your repair because there are 3 cars ahead of you." I questioned how I could have a confirmed time and he said it would take an hour, but no explanation was given. He was completely unhelpful and didn't care. Wasted a trip and my time. 'Suggest you go elsewhere. UPDATE: After the frustrating debacle at Pep Boys, I went to Firestone Auto Service Center. No appointment. They got me immediately, identified the problem, and repaired the tire. In and out in 45 minutes. I'm sorry that I ever wasted my time with Pep Boys and will never make that mistake again. read more

They put the wrong mileage on my ticket when I purchased my tires and now they don't want to warranty the tires after tire defect.

Service was great. The wait time not so much --almost two hours to fix a simple nail in the tire. They do have a nice area to sit.

I'm extremely happy with the service I received when I brought my car in for a tire with a large leak. I had previously been told by another company that I needed all new tires, so I asked Chante to take a look. She didn't try to upsell me--instead, she tested the tires only after I asked, and clearly showed me why they needed to be replaced. The service was quick, efficient, and done right the first time. I'm very thankful to Chante and the entire team for their professionalism and the great experience I had at the store. read more

We asked them to check out the 'squeal' when starting our 2006 SUV. They called later and said need 2 new belts as well as new brakes (1500 miles on last set). We settled on the belts for almost $400! We realized later that the belts were changed also at 1500 miles and less than a year. There was nobody at the front counter...we had to go to the shop. This is a prime example of ripping off seniors! Stay away! read more

This was a clown show. I had a hole in my brand new tire and brought it to Pep Boys for repair. I waited over two hours for them to tell me that it could not be fixed. I told them to just put it back on and I would have to buy a new tire. It was still holding air and I could still drive on it. I went to a REAL tire repair place with my damaged tire and a new one to replace it. Not only did the REAL tire place put my tire on with almost no wait, they also told me that the damaged tire COULD HAVE been repaired! I was going to use the tire as a spare, but was told that it now could not be patched because Pep Boys scraped the damaged area down to the wires. Amateur hour! Called earlier in the week to confirm availability for my car's mechanical service and took time off work to bring my car in Friday first thing in the morning only to be told by Juan there was a 2h+ wait. The employee then reassured me if I brought it in the very next day early am it would get serviced. So I came back the next day (Saturday) to the SAME individual only to be told there was no availability until MONDAY. What a joke. read more

Have been going to this Sunrise Blvd location for at least 5 years now, and up until yesterday, have always had a great experience. I went in for a scheduled maintenance but decided to purchase tires as well. When I went to pick up the car, the manager Vish told me that one center wheel cap had broken and they'd replace it for me. What Vish DIDN'T TELL ME was that 3 out of 4 were broken, but he failed to mention the other two. Vish actually said to me "If I didn't tell you, you wouldn't even have noticed it", which I thought odd and inappropriate. Yes, they replaced the one, but why was I not told about the other two? They broke 3 out of 4, so now I'm out even more money to replace the center caps they failed to tell me about. I just find that sneaky and underhanded. I just wish they could have been honest about it. Now I'm out the extra money to pay for the replacement of the other broken center caps. Not cool. read more

I came here to get my skid plate removed. I called a day ahead and scheduled an appointment for 10am. When I walked into the area not one person spoke to me and I just stood there like an idiot until someone finally said "how can I help you". An hour and a half later I asked how much longer it would take to simply unscrew the skid plate and their response was "there's one more car ahead of you before we get to yours". I again asked how much longer and the person again didn't give me an answer. TWO AND A HALF HOURS later and they have yet to start on my car. Why schedule an appointment if you're just going to work on the car whenever you want to start?? Overall the wait time here is ridiculous. Expect to wait at least 2 hours even with an appointment. We live in a brand new neighborhood and EVERYONE is picking up nails and screws in their tires. So that is what led me to Pep Boys on Sunrise Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. I found a screw in my front tire (tire was losing air fast) and a nail in the rear tire, tire was not leaking. Of course it was Sunday so a lot of places are not open here, Thankfully Pep Boys was and I got there about 1:00pm, I did not have an appointment. O'Neill helped me at the counter and he was very nice and got me checked in quickly and told me they would get to me as soon as they could. I waited about 2 hours before they got me in, however, they have recently remodeled this location so they have a brand new, very nice waiting area. Free Water and Keurig Coffee, WIFI, very nice. They got my car in and thankfully the rear tire was not punctured. The front tire was fixable and they plugged it, balanced it and checked the air in all the tires and made sure they were all even. They even did a quick check on the oil, wipers etc. I was extremely satisfied with their service and their professionalism. Its a really nice store read more

Booked an appointment with them on the phone for the next day, I went to the auto shop the next day at the appt time and the worker looks at me and says "Yeah that's not gonna happen today." No apology, just matter of fact like that. Then he goes "I only have one mechanic working today. Do you know any mechanics that would want to work here?" Sir, if I knew a mechanic I would not waste time going to your shop. He then tells me to go online to book another appt with him later. No thanks, you could've called me instead of making me drive my fucked up car all the way to your shop. I had a flat tire , came here stopping on my way to work. They offered the cheapest tires (he said so) for $97 plus service and tax $139.60. I asked him twice how long it would take cause I had to go to work, he said 20-25 min, but 45' later I was already complaining about the time. He played with words telling me you saw they already working on it why are you asking me, 25' or more it's ok, I didn't lie if you wanna take that way it's you. Resume, I got the cheapest tire ever for 97$ when I could have got this one for possibly $45 elsewhere I guarantee you all (pics), and service lied to me, but attitude was the worse. read more

Pep Boys always takes my money and are a bit on the pricey side of car mechanics but they are most convenient for my oil changes. I always get a twenty dollar coupon online so my synthetic brand oil change drops from $80 to $60, not bad. In the dealer it is close to $100. Also I schedule my appointments online and their store ours are pretty flexible. There are days that it is packed and waiting for a car service can seem forever but that is pretty across the board with most mechanic shops. read more

I usually do my services at this Pep Boys locations but no longer. I went in recently to get my radiator replaced. They called me later to say it will be about $750 I kindly declined picked up my car and left. I took it to another mechanic who opened the hood and noticed the radiator cap sitting on the side not returned to its place. This is not the first time this happened to me at this Pep Boys but let it go the first time as an honest mistake. But this time, i was not pleased as this could have ruined my engine! The negligence at this location has cost them a costumer. I will not be returning at all for the protection of my vehicles which they do not hold in high regard. read more
