Went in for an oil change and brake pads. Dropped the car off at 11:45 am, they didn't even get to my car to give me an estimate until 3pm, 3.5 hours later! So I decided to go ahead and do the work and was told it would take an hour for the brake pads. An hour later, they pull up with my car telling me the cars ready to go. I ask the technician if the brakes sound good, and he looked at me like a deer in headlights because he never fixed the brake pads! They order the part and get started on work and finally the car is done at 630 pm. That's a full 7 hours later to do a job that a mechanic can easily do in 1 hour tops. Do not recommend! Only go in if the Asian mechanic or the GM is on site. read more

Two very friendly guys working there, and they worked together to get my oil changed fast while I waited. Didn't take more than 30 minutes. I took my car in about a year ago to get new brakes. The service was not great and the waiting area was filthy. So a year later my front brakes were completely worn. New brakes should last more than a year! I called customer service to see what they could do for me. The shop called me back and the new owner Dean took care of the problem right away. He knew of the previous owners reputation and is working hard to change things around. The new owner was very nice and helpful and the new repairs were completed fast. I cannot believe places still act this way and try to take advantage of consumers. These guys are just bad news. Went in to get my brakes done. $800 later I picked up the car and it was just not right. Went back and they said "oh yeah, you need a new master cylinder." Ok, the car has 178k miles. Replace it. Now we are at $1100. Get call later in the day "oh yeah, you need a new power booster." No I do not. Shysters these guys. I should have just taken the car to the dealership. Just stay away from these guys. If do go, make sure you get the old parts back. This way you can take the old parts to another place and then prove that they ripped you off. Not to recommend. I was there twice and both times not a good experience. The one job was quoted for an hour and I needed to wait for 3 hours. Very frustrating. The other job was also very late. In addition when I inspected their work at home I had to realize that on my rear tire one lock nut missing and a second one was loose. read more

This was my go-to place for repairs and oil changes primarily because the manager Mark offers stellar customer service. The problem these days is, he's rarely there. Instead, they have this guy at the front desk, Lynn. He's incompetent and a grouch! Every time I interact with him, he's got a scowl on his face with heaps of bad attitude. I brought my car in for a warranty brake pad replacement because the brakes were starting to squeak a couple months after they replaced the pads. Lynn accused me of riding the brakes (even though he has no idea how I drive). Later I brought the car in when it was happening again and got the mechanic Tyler to come ride in the car. He agreed it was bad and told me they would offer a free brake pad replacement - which they did. When I dropped the car back in, Lynn was there with his usual scowl and didn't seem too happy that I was dropping the car off for warranty work. After I dropped the car off, I didn't hear from the shop that entire day and next day afternoon when I called to check on it, Lynn said it was already ready (apparently it was already repaired the previous day but he didn't bother to call me and inform me). When I went to pick up the car, he gave me the wrong paperwork. When I asked him about the repairs, he said he didn't know anything about it and seemed peeved as usual. Super frustrating! I don't know why they let this guy work there - he's ignorant, incompetent, and doesn't know how to deal with customers. read more

I think I would have been a little bit more generous on the rating if the customer service was better. I got a groupon to get my brakes done and they tried to tell me how I should spend over $300 on all this other stuff. To start, the guy I talked to gave off this "I dont give a crap about anything" attitude which should have been my red flag. He wasn't mean though and I was getting a service at a discount so I dropped my car off. The next day he called explaining a bunch of things and how much extra it would be. He made it sound like my car would just stop working if I didnt have it done. The thing is I had JUST had my car inspected for it's 100,000 mile checkup and they told me the exact opposite of what this guy did. So I called my dad and a mechanic that's a friend of a friend and they both basically said they're trying to scam me and that I should get a second opinion first before spending the money. So I called back and said I want strictly what was covered under the groupon, and the guy STILL tried to upsell me. I said "no thank you please just do the brakes" and from that point forward the guy was so rude with short snide remarks. AND after they were done and I went in to pick the car up they LOST MY KEYS. I was so mad AND they charged me tax, which I feel should have been covered under the groupon, and he was an a-hole about that too. I wasn't even mean or obnoxious, but I think they deserve a bad rating. I have another groupon for my front brakes, but I will never be going here again. I'd rather take my car somewhere with nicer people, even if they are trying to squeeze money out of me. The worst shop ever. After having them fix my brakes I drove down the 4 lane and voila...no friggin' brakes. AND their fix was botched. It cost me hundreds to fix their mistake ...DON'T GO...IT'S not worth the few bucks you'll save. In fact it may cost you many many times that. read more

This shop was great! I went to Brakes Plus to get an estimate on my brakes thinking I only needed new pads and it would cost a couple hundred dollars. They quoted me $630 and said i needed new front rotors as well. I talked to a co-worker who told me about Just Brakes and that i should go there to get a second opinion. He was right. Just brakes told me that my rotors could be machined and I didn't need new ones...huge cost savings. I talked to Sean and Bert who were both friendly and helpful. The mechanic who was there, whose name I didn't get was busting his butt trying to get my car ready for me at 5p.m. as promised, which he did. Bert had a few customers come in while I was waiting who he helped with the same care that he had helped me. He seemed to genuinely care about the service he was giving and the customers he was helping. I was overall impressed with the customer service and the work of the guys here. I saw several of the posts here and I wanted to give readers the perspective I have had with this business. I first took a '99 Forester in for what I thought might be a 4 wheel brake job. They inspected it and brought me back and showed me that I had at least 40% left on the fronts. The back shoes were almost to metal. About a month later I took a '11 Outback in for what I was sure was going to be a 4 wheel brake job. Again, they took me back to show me that I had at least 50% remaining on all 4 wheels. They put my tires back on (rotated) and sent me on my way....no charge. The Subaru dealership had previously indicated that both of these vehicles badly needed brake jobs. The dealership was only correct on the '99 Forester rear brakes. Both times I was at Just Brakes, the staff was courteous and very professional. They could have easily taken me to the cleaners on both vehicles (especially the '11 Outback), but they did not do anything that was not needed. I will go back to them. I have had several mechanics over the years (and do some things myself, arthritis willing) and these folks have earned my trust. read more

First of all i want to say the employees in the back of the store are great and that is why i give this 2 instead of 1 stars. But the managements is Dishonest and caught in the act. If the management was upfront i would write a great review and even would have paid the same overcharge if she explained it took more time to work on my car than she planned. but instead she charged me more through dishonesty. I came in with a coupon for brake flush. I made an appointment and was quoted on the phone $69 and the $20 off coupon makes it 49.99 plus tax. The store was really dead empty so i was one of the only cars being serviced. The bleeder screws on the rear drums were worn so they had to be replaced. Since it is an old car the exact bleeders were not in the computer at parts store the young mechanic employee from the shop went to the parts store down the block to find the exact right match with the old bleeder in his hand. That was really good service as he wanted to make sure it was right. Long story short they got the part and did the job right but they charged me way more than quoted and lied about the price of the bleeder they got from oreilies. The manager charged me 35.99 for the bleeder and $10 for break fluid, and $10 for extra labor. I could not believe the bleeders cost $35 and she said "that's what we paid for them, and it took longer to go to the store that is why i was charged extra for labor. But when I tried the car at first the petal went to the floor and they had to adjust the bleeders again, because they were still leaking. So while haning out with them in the shop when doing this final adjustment I asked the young mechanic who made the store run how much it cost at Oreilys and he said it cost 11.99 for the entire set. I told him the manager said the part cost $35, I already felt a friendship with him and he honestly gave me a look like (dude i know they are dishonest and there is nothing i can do) So I know he has no power in the goings on of the MGMT. So the manager flat out lied. secondly I was quoted $69 for a break fluid flush. then to charge $10 for brake fluid . That s a rip of. Break fluid flush required break fluid to do the flush. i did not notice this $10 until i got home and she did not tell me that when she went over the final price. So I paid $110 for a job that should have been $49 with the coupon, i would have been more willing to pay $40 more for the decent job the employees did and the extra 1/2 hour it took to run to the store, if it was explained to me in that way, but the manager instead of being honest and saying I want to charge you more for labor, instead charged me in an underhanded way. At that point I left I did not want to pick a fight for I know the manager is struggling with the business, but any business should know that being honest and serving costumers well is what brings good business. I warn all people to not go to this shop or trust this place. I do not appreciated being lied to right to my face. from small talking with her (the manager) who is a single mom and says she has been in this business a long time, I figure she is working too hard. She said she did not have off for many weeks. But still reflecting on the whole experience, i think she should improve her ethics and from her personality i have the feeling that deceptive unethical business is the norm of how she does things. If this is the norm for Just Brakes i do not know. maybe the management is under a lot of pressure and underpaid. these big chains are big corporations. But still I strongly disagree with her actions and approach to business and feel others should be warned to say away from this place unless they get new management. read more

From the name one would assume that they could at least get the brakes part right. Not so much. We brought our car here for new brakes and they forgot to put the hardware on. The brakes were making a horrible noise and due to our work schedule, we were forced to continue to drive the car in this unsafe condition. We took the car back for repairs and requested an email stating what they did to fix it for our records I case there were additional complications. The manager Crystal gave us the run around (not answering our calls and having someone else talk for her) and it took over 48 hours for her to send the email because according to her she had to "find out from another store what she was allowed to say in it". We asked repeatedly to have the number for her district manager and were told that she couldn't give it out and that if we left our number, he would call us. We left our number and still haven't heard from him. The car is still making noises that it didn't make before when applying the brakes and at this point we don't know what to do. We don't want to let them service the car again because of the danger they put us in and we are unable to get a hold of anyone through their corporate automated customer support. We should have read the reviews before bringing it in. A little ownership would have gone a long way to make things better, but we got avoidance and a lot of " let me check with another store". Buyer beware, there's no avenue for escalations here and if they don't get your job right the first time, good luck. read more
