The lady wendy had horrible customer service, blows you off and doesn't even acknowledge the fact that i had an appointment just told me go wait in the line so instead of being serviced at 8am how my appointment was scheduled for it was 8:30am before i even spoke to anyone then i got a paper and still had to wait longer, it's not 8:33am still haven't been serviced or my car hasn't been brought to be helped, but other cars are. My first time here and it was just terrible service and the value of the oil change is not worth it charging over 150$ for a quick oil change and you can't even service your customers timely. I should have remember that my dad never allowed me to bring my car into pep boys. I brought my car into service for a few things. A check engine light, AC repairs and driver seat power issues. It was there for a total of 8 days. They only called me once and it was towards the end because I kept checking in for updates. First of all there are all theses fees for diagnostic testing which I agreed to. But if I am saying something doesn't work it because it clearly doesn't work . I was charged for the diagnostic of the AC and I was told it was working. Not sure how hot air means that AC it's working . The light issues resulted in getting a gas cap replacement which I did . Aside from that tune up and oil change . Etc maybe a few things I don't understand I need it . But that's not even my issue. Now for my concern my power driver car seat doesn't work. I had a friend manually move it and place it to fit my petite size. I was driving it like that but since it was going to the shop I wanted that fixed. Again I was charged another fee for power diagnosis. I kept checking in for the car being ready and I was told that the car part would arrive in a few hours . I was told the same story over the last couple of days the car was in the shop. During this time I was ubering and even taking Waymo spending above 63 dollars daily . Finally I went to pick it up they asked me if I wanted to pay for the part I said no but I wanted them to call me when's the part was there so I can take it so they can fix it . I said I'll pay when it's fixed . It's been over a week and they still haven't call me . So does that mean that they lack follow up or that the part never arrived? Lastly when I paid it was over 1400 and they assured me the car seat was not moved . I am like clearly it was moved when I got in I couldn't even reach the petals . There was a guy there that was clearly the only competent nice person . He assured me the car was indeed moved because he said when it was first brought it he couldn't fit . He sort of got it back into temporary place so I can drive it again. Even in the most desperate times don't ever take your car here. I had to have my passenger side tires replaced due to a nail and bubble and this was the closest location I could drive to that provided the service I needed. I have made an extreme effort to keep my car in pristine condition and the employee who test drove my car after the alignment scraped the bottom of my front bumper pretty bad while pulling back into the lot. My car isn't even lowered! I brought it up during check out, but the guy didn't even apologize, offer a discount, or acknowledge it (though the person at check out was not the driver). Is this normal behavior? Do the employees just not care? I was also very patient and did not once bother anyone or complain or ask how much longer it was going to be when I was told it was going to be an hour more (I had already been there for an hour and it actually ended up being about 3 hours more). read more

- DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY- My car was having powering steering issues so I decided to try and take it some where near my job for convenience. They lured me in with a same day vehicle inspection, which they did do, but it was all down hill after that. Miguel was the employee who did the initial intake on my car and was going to be assigned to me to keep me updated. He said he would call me in a few hours after the vehicle inspection to review what they found. Almost the whole work day passed and no call so I walked over after work and turns out Miguel had already left for the day without communicating anything to me. Now I have to take an expensive Uber back home because I didn't have time to coordinate a ride with someone. Next day (late morning) Miguel calls me and tells me they need to replace some parts in my car but he can't find the parts anywhere...he'll call me back at the end of the day with an update and cost estimate. Of course he didn't and when I call in he's gone for the day again...Manager, Wendy, says she will review and have Miguel call me the following day... Third day, I get a call from another employee, Jessica, who says Miguel isn't there today so she will be assisting me...she states they had the parts the whole time....and provides me some costs estimates (expensive - over $800 to change some belts, hoses and other little things related to p/s) Regardless, I authorize the work because I need my car back and she promised it would be done by the end of the day....So I call back around 4, three hours before they close, for an update and of course they havent started anything on my car and Jessica says they need to keep it one more day and she "doesn't want to rush the mechanics"....God forbid they try to stay on schedule and honor their promises... Fourth day, I've finally had enough and call them first thing in the morning to tell them not to touch my car anymore (not that they have anyways) and I'll be picking it up to go elsewhere. Tldr: the whole operation is horribly managed - employees dont call you when they claim they will, they give you bullshit, contradicting excuses and lies and they dont work on your car when they say they will. I took my in car to patch a tire this morning. Everything was going fine until I went home and realized they pumped up the tire pressure to 50 PSI after they patched it, which is not normal for my 35 PSI car. They didn't even bother to spend the time removing air to a normal tire pressure. If I didn't notice this earlier, my tire could have been ruined. To top it off, I called them to ask about this. It being a Saturday I thought my mechanic shop was closed so I thought maybe I should have the cooling system changed.... This review is for the excellent service provided by Miguel. From the moment I spoke to him on the phone to me getting my car back after being serviced he always kept me up to date. I came in as my engine light had been on for awhile. They figured out it was the 2nd battery on my car which had low voltage. Once again always kept me in the loop & throughly explained what needed to be done & when to expect my car to be ready. I also like that Pep Boys sends you the texts letting you know where they're in the process with your vehicle. Thank you again Miguel for attention to detail; my car no longer completely turns off when at the stop light. Let me break it down: I drive a 2015 KIA Forte, and for about two years, I thought the transmission was the issue causing misfires at idle and resistance at 30-50 mph. One rainy day, my car wouldn't start--it coughed and struggled even with a jump from Triple A. The alternator passed the test, so we replaced the dead battery (shoutout to AutoZone for honoring the warranty). I brought the car to Pep Boys the next morning, explained everything, and paid $100 for a diagnosis. Thanksgiving delayed things, but they promised the car would be ready by Saturday. They reported engine misfire codes and immediately recommended a $250 compression test--skipping basic checks like spark plugs or coils. I trusted them, thinking they'd know best. Big mistake. Within minutes, his team found an additional issue: oil leaking from the valve cover gasket, along with the bad coils and spark plugs I requested to be replaced. They fixed it in 3-4 hours for way less than Pep Boys quoted, and they even topped off my oil for free. Ferris was honest, straightforward, and proved that great service still exists. The Lesson? Avoid this Pep Boys at all costs. They'll overcharge you, push unnecessary tests, and waste your time. Corporate doesn't always mean better. Want to add on to the negative reviews. Usually I'd never come to Pepboys but when my tire popped and it was a Sunday it didn't give me much wiggle room. I wanted to replace all my run flats to regular tires given it was my 3rd tire I'd be replacing this year alone so I came to them. Was pricey but it had to be done. I got there at 9am and didn't leave until 3:30pm...for tires to be replaced. On top of that the guy at the counter tells me that I need to replace all my brake pads as they're seriously in the red and it's dangerous. I tell him I'd just go back to my dealership (mind you my sensor never went off indicating so) I finally get the opportunity to come to another dealership I trust that specialize in BMWs and he took a quick glance at all my brake pads and he said that my brake pads do not need to be replaced for awhile. I share with him about the tires and he looked at all 4 and also shared that they put old stock tires. It goes without saying, unless you're absolutely stuck with no other option please save your money and go somewhere else. I brought in my car for what I thought it needed... a tire alignment but I had asked them to double check for me since the tire alignment inspection is free and they have a big sign in the office that states so. I went with my gut feeling and decided to just leave. He charged me $35 for some inspection he said they did and I left. I brought to a local tire place on Hoover and 8th, the guys said it was just a tire balance needed. Only paid $100 instead of $950 for the supposedly "very much needed" new tires Miguel at Pepboys. 0/10 experience at pepboys. the worst tire shop you can ever visit store manager Wendy and assistant Julio are the worst creatures not professionals to call them that, I had an appointment to fix a flat tire but they never entered the care until 5 minutes before closing at six PM, even when I had appointment and arrived on time at 4:30 pm. they claimed they can't fix and plug the whole in the tire because it's their store policy if the tire has wear ,of course they could have said that an hour and a half earlier when I handed them the car, that we will check first and might not be able to fix it as promised in the appointment. so I could have made it to another shop, since most were closing at six ,and originally I told them I can install all 4 new tires if they have time, but both workers are horrific people to let a customer to drive with a flat when all other shops were closing, because plugging the whole was not safe even after I told them I will sign off on any liability they claimed .but letting me drive with a flat was safe and didn't violate their shop policies. anyway, needless to say I left at six and found a shop nearby that fixed the tire for half the price they were going to charge me. pep boys is one of the worst companies to let people who are rude, dishonest to operate their stores, and lose them a lot of customers, read more
