Not a bad experience. I ordered tires thru Amazon. During checkout, you can schedule a visit to Pep Boys for them to install your tires. $20/tire is better than the $38 that another local shop was charging. According to Amazon, there wasn't any appointment available right away, so I didn't schedule it thru Amazon; however, after I got my tires I called them to check availability, and the guy told me he could do it that day. Awesome. They also recommended a wheel alignment for another $100. Skeptical of the upcharges, I said the uneven wear was probably due to my very aggressive cornering. They said they could check the alignment first to really see if I needed adjustment, so I said "Sure, why not?" As expected they said it was out of alignment and told me the numbers. I couldn't recall the last time I had an alignment, but it was probably due for one anyway. I get my car back and it drives nice and smooth. After a couple of days I fill up the gas and check my tire pressures only to find out that the pressures are all different in each tire, as much as 7 PSI. Makes me question their quality control with everything else like tire balancing, wheel alignment, and lugnut torque. It rides smooth so I think I'm okay and the mechanics were pretty cordial, so yeah...not bad. read more

Coming in initially I was allowed to confirm my appointment (9:00am) I needed my tired replaced because another Pepboys installed it incorrectly. Through the period of the time I was there, I had to physically walk back in to see the progress, because not only did they not update the status of when my tire will be replaced but they needed to get the correct one by calling somewhere to get it delivered. They never called. They always needed reminders by me and my dad. Mind you: this ongoing replacement of ONE TIRE last from 9:00am to 3:30pm. I could have genuinely explored all of Manassas in that time. Complete disappointment and terrible service. I also got charged on top of purchasing warranty and having the reciept in hand when I needed to replace that tire from the last Pepboys MISTAKE!!! I call to do transmission oil change I have on the car 335k , but they say they can't do it to many miles!!!! I say the transmission it's 8 month old and it's was 45k when i install it,it's just time to change oil , they still say it's can't be done because high mileage! How stupid is that !!!! First appearances are everything, right? ...When I got there, there were homeless people all up and down the nearby alley... The entryway from the road was not well defined. There was a shopping cart out front - always a great sign that you're in a trashy neighborhood, when the store you're visiting doesn't even have them! ...Then when I got inside there was nobody at the cash registers up front. After waiting 5 minutes, I went to the back of the store, to the auto parts ordering counter, and talked with 2 employees, who I informed I was there for a pickup. After some typing on the computer, one of them literally walks over to the store shelves and starts looking thru items to find what I ordered. This tells me 2 things... #1: Me ordering it online, and having it scheduled for a pick-up does absolutely nothing, because they do basically the same thing that I would do -- walk in, look for it, pick it up, take it to checkout. And #2: They didn't bother to check for the daily orders to even see if what I ordered was in stock or available, and prep it for easy checkout. The worst part about this whole experience was that the online ordering system allowed me to place an order for a pick up of an item that was no longer in stock. When I spoke with the staff, they said that the truck carrying these items I ordered doesn't even come in until the next day!! There is a huuuge disconnect on the status of in-stock / available items. Pep Boys has burned me, as a customer. After re-telling this story to a few friends, this seems to be just about on-par with their service, and I was seeing a pattern that most people regard this chain as the last-resort and/or bottom of the barrel for obtaining items. This trip was a waste of my time, my fuel, miles on my vehicle, and most importantly, during these corona-virus times, my health. Do yourself a favor, pay the extra $10-$20 on Wal-Mart or Amazon and have it sent to your house. My husband had an appointment yesterday at 5pm he ended up waiting 3 1/2 hours for them to change one headlight. I agreement with ALL the other reviews, the workers do not have ANY work ethic they are rude, loud, cursing, abrasive and just plain unprofessional. This is not the first time Pep Boys has been just plain lazy about doing their jobs but we thought it was just a fluke. Nope. It's gone so downhill in the last 10 years I don't know what's happened. Beware. Do not trust them with your vehicle. This review is in regards my recent experience with this Pepboys location. I took my truck to get my rear tires rotated/moved to the front. And to have 2 brand new tires installed on the back. I also had my alignment and synthetic oil change done. Favio B. was the service advisor that helped me out. When I was there he seemed very helpful and welcoming. We went over the details for my service appointment. I gave him specific instructions for the tires and he made note of them on the system. I picked up my truck when it was already dark outside, around 6 pm. It was not until the next morning that I noticed that they did not rotate/move my rear tires to the front. Instead they removed my in good condition rear tires. And installed the new ones on those rims. I called Favio to make him aware of the mistake they made. I think he realized they had made a mistake, but immediately tried to cover up for their mistake. First, He pretended that they did as I had instructed them. Then he said they had a discussion with the techs about my tires and that they decided the rear tires were in bad condition and they made the decision for me to just install the new tires on rear rims. Then he said they actually used one of my rear tires and installed it on the front. Another possibility is that they just stole my tires to either resale for cheap used tires or just to keep them to use for themselves. I realized Favio never had his best interest to help me. One of his claims/lies is that my rear tires were in bad shape. When in fact, they were not. He said that he took the best decision that would be best for the truck. I did not pay him to take decisions for me. They needed to get approval from me if they wanted to proceed with different planes I totally disagree with him because the tires in the front of my truck are totally worn out and unsafe. Yet, those are the ones they chose to leave on. I called on Favio's lies. And I told him they better save my tires and correct the issue. He assured he'd have one of the techs save the tires for me. I think most customers would agree with me that if you take your vehicle for repairs/maintenance and give specific instructions, you expect those instructions to be followed. And if the requested instructions are not able to be followed for any reason, it is reasonable to expect a call with a request to change the original plan of action or to inform you that the repairs will not be able to be completed. After all, you're paying for the service you want. You're not paying for them to make their own decisions for you about your vehicle. I am really mad about all of Favio's lies. I am upset and frustrated about his ultimate lack of customer service. I am really upset that he did not call me to ask and get an approval on how to proceed. Attempting to find a solution with Favio was not possible and he was very dismissive of me. He hung up on me by saying someone named Mark would call me right away. It has been 4 days since. And no one from PepBoys has called. I plan to go talk to someone in person to see if they are willing to help me and find a resolution to this issue. I will update this review for any resolution they offer. Please do not trust this Pepboys location. If you do get work on your vehicle done at this location, please make sure you inspect it before you pay. More importantly, do not trust Favio to have your best interest when it comes to servicing your vehicle. read more

Not sure that this issue will be taken care about , but the lack of communication and how the employees are taking care of customers is very disappointing. Having to come back to the store 4 times with making an appointment and have to wait an hour to have my issue taking a look at , makes me think what is the point of making an appointment. I had some issues with my AC and it takes them 4 times to figure out what the problem is. The back-and-forth driving and the time consuming with the long drive is just not thinking about the customers. Which I would think is the 1st rule of customer service. Went inside the store and the front desk cashier, short squat white/hispanic looking guy with beady eyes did not greet me and was busy doing this own stuff. I looked at him and he did not even acknowledge my existence. Normally when someone enters the store, you greet them but none of that happened. After few minutes have passed by, I said "can I get some help, please?" and the reply I get is "I will be there with you shortly" and then few minutes passes again, the guy just shuffles paper. That guy does not have any sales skills at all and should be fired on the spot. Not a first great impression you want to keep towards new potential customers. I should have read the reviews here. Was in the area today for a wedding and noticed a nail in my tire. Hotel I was staying at recommended this Pep Boys. We arrived there and explained our situation and that we had a family wedding in just a few short hours. Kris at the front desk was empathetic, took our information right away. I called earlier this afternoon and a man named Jim answered. I asked for a quote and he gave me the price range of $80 for 16 inch tires, $95 for the next size, and $115 for the last size. He mentioned that the service was included and when I asked if he had time today for me to bring my car in, he said they were "free as a bird," they close at 8pm, and to come in. When I arrived not only did the price increased but there was no time for me to get my tires changed. The only reason this is frustrating is because I had to sit in 45 mins of traffic to get there. Not only were my 16 in tires $89 now, I was also going to be charged $25 for service. When I mentioned the $80 price I heard on the phone, only then did they find a tire for $79.98. DO NOT GO HERE!!! save yourself a headache and a lot of money On repairs. this location specifically is the worst! the mechanics don't know what they're doing and management is just there to make up excuses, not to help. I brought my car in for a simple oil change.. and their mechanics broke my oil filter housing because he over tighten it. while checking out, the mechanic never once told me that my car was leaking... He took my money and sent me on my way.... the next day I woke up to a puddle of oil in my driveway.. By far the worst experience I've ever had with a tire place. Bought two sets of tires for Christmas, one for my daughter and the other for my wife. Ordered online two weeks ahead of time. My daughter's appointment was for 2pm. She didn't get her car back until 8pm that evening. Their excuse was there was something wrong with the alignment machine. My wife's appointment was for 9am Christmas eve. We drop the car off and get a phone call 1 hour later. Took my car in for an oil change after having a bad experience with Virginia Tire and Auto. Went out of town a couple of days later and my " Reduce Engine Oil Level" message came on. When I arrived at my destination I checked the level from my dashboard and it was above the max line. From what I read this can damage the engine components. The Pep Boys close to where I was were booked for the next 2 days so I took it to a Take 5 oil service where I had to pay for another oil change otherwise they couldn't determine how much to take out. Called the Pep Boys who did my 1st oil change and was told there was nothing they could do. I had to pay for 2 oil changes in less than a week. Never again! read more

My first issue was 4 weeks ago...i bought 2 small slim Jim's for my kids when I bought something for my car. After leaving, kids opened, took a bite and spit out...saw expiration was 3/2019, but was leaving town so I just threw away A few days ago I went to buy a sealant for my tire. First off, nobody was knowingly available so I asked a patron where I might find my item. Once I did, I had to stand in line, at the back of the store, for 20 minutes. Had a tire that got a nail(not repairable). Called to verify if i had road hazard cooverage and was told I had basic install. Went ahead and asked if the tire was in stock and front desk would not check. I proceeded to take my car in, fairly confident I did purchase road Hazard to see in person. I asked for a copy of the old receipt and what do you know road Hazard was there! Edson then proceeded to tell me I did not pay for road Hazard but he would pro-rate the tire. If the paperwork says the customer has it, then they have it. Fast forward to today's pickup, I noticed they did not change the tpms valve as policy requires, they removed it off the ticket. Thought it was all said and done, then noticed the price didn't change. Got home and looked at yesterday's invoice from the estimate, and Edson changed the tire install price from $15.01 to $27.00!! I asked Edson what road hazard covers and he confirmed it cover balance and install of the tire for life, so why am I being charged for install again? All in all, service from Edson was not great and I can definitely tell I was lied to during my experience. Not a great representation of the company and not a personable manager. This company has gone downhill drastically. ANYONE WHO TAKES THEIR CAR IN, DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PRICES AND VERIFY TPMS REBUILDS HAVE BEEN DONE! On Aug 9th I sent my son to Manassas Pep boys for new tires. They quoted me a price and said they had all 4 tires in stock. Well when he got there they only had three and then when they did get the 4th tire the price went up $500 higher then the quote. A regional manager emailed me and asked for the invoice number, store number etc. I of course gave him all of that info with my phone numbers and email address. AND YES, to this date and time NO ONE has contacted me. Go figure. This place is a rip off, management is terrible and it now looks like ownerships is terrible too. I am a DIY type lady and I ask 100 questions every time I start working on something on my car. Thank goodness for an associate named IVAN. He helped me locate the products and parts I needed and answered all of my questions about the differences in prices vs products ect. THANK YOU IVAN....!!! Especially with the way the world is nowadays many people have lost that personable touch to customer service but not IVAN... seriously, if it had been appropriate, I would have hugged him. When we arrived the tech said "30-45 minutes" no problem. So our loaner car had a flat tire and luckily we were close to this particular Pep Boys location. We came in and they replaced the tire and also did an oil change. We were all good to go after about 2 hours. A few days later the same tire goes flat again. We return here and they try to fix it, and still even after the second visit, the tire is still going flat. What is so hard about finding out what's causing the tire to go flat over and over? It's either the wheel, the valve stem, or the shock! I know more about cars than these Pep GIRLS. read more
