If I was to give this place a rating based on my first 3 visits it would have been 5 stars. Great service, reasonable price, and done correctly. Unfortunately, I had to bring my car back after the 4th service because they failed to tighten the axel nut and the wheel almost came off. If that was not enough, I was changed $400 to "repair" some of the damage because of the mistake. Not happy, but ok. When I retrieved my car, there were 5 dash lights on and the power steering was not longer functioning. They told me that they will not work on the vehicle anymore. Too bad. This was a great little shop, so I thought. Not sure I would trust them to change a battery at this point. read more

I purchased a Groupon deal for $35.99 less than six months ago after getting my tires replaced at Costco. Less than six months in, I blew one of my tires, I went back to Costco and upon checking, they told me the car doesn't seem to have an alignment since the tires were replaced. I called this location, and I was told that their groupon deals don't come with any work guarantee whereas if you spent $80, the price without the groupon deal, work is guaranteed for 6000 miles. To add insult to injury, it turns out they didn't even redeem the groupon deal, so I'm not able to write about my experience into their groupon reviews. They told me to bring my car in for wheel alignment service and I only have to wait 45 mins to 1 hour. I brought my car in twice after the phone calls. once i brought my car in, they told me that I have to leave my car over night which was totally different than what they told me over the phone. 2nd. time when I brought my car in which was the first thing in the morning, I arrived around 8:20am, they open at 8am. Had my new tires mounted and balanced at Precision. Went on a trip and noticed a vibration around 65-70mph. Took my vehicle back to Precision and asked if they could take a look at the front wheels since that was where I thought the vibration might be coming from. They both checked out, perfectly balanced. They suggested possible causes such as spacers or the tires themselves. I took the spacers off and still felt vibrations at 65-70. I then rotated the tires front to back, and my wife noticed from the back seat that the vibration moved from the rear to the front. Checked out that the wheel in question had a lot of weights. So I took the vehicle back in and asked if they didn't mind checking that wheel. They did and found it wasn't completely balanced but likely due to a bent wheel or bad tire. Nevertheless, they rebalanced the wheel and were actually able to bring it to a perfect balance. I rarely leave reviews, but these guys deserve 5 stars for their great customer service. I went to Precision Tune Auto Caretoday for the first time. I usually go to Aamco and am happy with their service. However, someone hit me in the parking lot this morning and caused me to miss my appointment. As the next available appointment at Aamco wasn't until Monday and I have a busy upcoming work week, I decided to give a local company a try. Big Mistake! I chose Precision due to their $49 Groupon deal (see attached picture) l. As it states on the Groupon, this price is marked down from a regular price of $89.99. Aamco is cheaper for the same full synthetic oil change and also offers a tire rotation. But as stated earlier, I was unable to go to Aamco. When I got there, the gentleman behind the desk seemed nice enough - initially. But as Elsa K. said in an earlier review, he began to misrepresent the truth to sell unnecessary things. He told me that somehow my Toyota Avalon checked off all the extra fees in their fine print (see second attached picture). I explained to him that I had never been charged extra for the oil canister or for extra oil (even when I went to the Toyota dealership!!). He said that Toyota doesn't really hangs the oil, they just top it up and they weren't really using full synthetic oil like they said. He claimed to have a RAV4 to explain his experience with Toyota. With these details I chose to trust him, even when the total came out to a whopping $79, only $9 less than the before discount price. In other words, it was a gyp! I was feeling a little uneasy about the whole thing but I chose to believe that he was really giving me a fair price and doing only necessary things to my car. And they even finished my car in record time. However, when I got home, I called my mechanic boyfriend who was away on a business trip. He was very upset and explained to me that there was no special filter for my car and that he has never seen an extra charge for a little bit more oil as well. So basically even though Precision states in the fine print that the canister for the oil change was an extra price, there was no reason at all that it should cost extra. It's a common part! I was appalled. As a woman who does not have a lot of car knowledge, I trust the people who I take my car to be honest with me and give me a fair shake. Instead I was overcharged and lied too. Very disappointed in this company. Response to Daryl: Thank you for responding to my review. As stated in my review above, I am not disputing the charges. I am saying that it is an overcharge in comparison to both the local Aamco and the local Toyota dealership. Especially since the canister that is an extra fee is a common pet. Also most companies, just add the extra oil. I was providing my feedback to other customers about my experience, the quality, and the price in comparison to the other options they have available. I drive 30 mins to this shop because I thought I was getting a good deal on an oil change. Confirmed the price and Groupon deal before leaving but when I got there, I was told that this Groupon wasn't valid for my car even when i confirmed before leaving that this was for synthetic oil. Apparently the person who I spoke to on the phone was not there and this other person would not honor the promo. However, these people are scheming Groupon and should be banned in the first place. They told me not to buy the Groupon and pay in store instead. (So that they don't pay their cut to Groupon, I personally don't care but it's highly unethical and tells you a lot about their professionalism) Secondly, they didn't even honor the groupon deal even and quoted me twice as much as I had no option since my car was overdue for maintenance and I had driven so far out already. Expect a LONG WAIT if you get a Groupon. They also misrepresent that truth to push unnecessary services. I arrived in the morning and they told me there was over an hour wait and to come at noon. I did just that and then was given a 1 hr 45 min wait time for an oil change and routine inspection. I was surprised and so the guy explained it was because I got a Groupon. And yes indeed two people came in as walk ins after me and were out before me. So awesome. The waiting area is also non existent and uncomfortable. The area is the size of a small closet with four chairs immediately in front of the register. The wait was absolutely not worth the couple saved bucks. EDIT- 2 months later I needed tires replaced. I asked Bills Auto to please replace the brakes that Precision Auto had recommended changing when I went in for the oil change. They informed me at pick up that both front and rear brakes were still adequate and not in need of replacement. So--- be aware of unnecessary services Precision Auto will likely push :( read more

So, I respond to the reply to my complaint by Daryl and contacted him. We spoke last week. First, no apology for having a bad experience, second, didn't really believe what I was telling him, and third, he said he would check with the manager Roy and get back to me. None of these occurred and are the most fundamental customer service tenants in any organization...just not for a Precision Auto Tune. I have four cars that I have been taking to this Precision Auto Tune for several years for regular service, maintenance and new tires. Clearly, there is no desire to retain loyal customers. A simple apology and please give us another try would have gone a long way. Apparently they don't need my business and really don't care. Im not sure how Daryl and Roy's performance is rated, but by the look of these customer reviews it's not good. Update: 26 Nov 16, it's a month later and still no word from anyone from a Precision Auto 1 Dec 16: After 6 weeks of speaking with the regional manager Daryl, I get a "canned" cut and paste response. "I'm sorry you're still having problems with your car"--Really? He couldn't even take 2 minutes to call or write a thoughtful response. When Daryl called me the first time he sounded very annoyed. I have been taking my 4 cars to another shop and the service and customer service has been remarkable. We came here to get the car taken care of. Wow were we dissapointed. They only replaced 2 of the spark plugs (which is unethical.) There were a few other problems they didn't tell us about, or fix... which lead us to breaking down on 66, leading not only my brother and both my brother and I having to take off of work, but another family member to take off work too. There was a massive towing bill which made it financially inconvenient for us, and during rush hour too... so it was more expensive. Avoid going here at all costs. I got a Groupon for a full synthetic oil change with free wiper blade replacement (for $50!!) and sent a request online for an appointment and they actually CALLED me and left a voicemail saying the time I wanted was walk in hours and was a first come first serve basis so to come in any time that day. They took my car back almost immediately for the oil change. As I was waiting, I asked if they could look at my brakes since I had been experiencing some issues (steering wheel rumbling while breaking) and without hesitation said yes and went back to let the mechanic know. They did a VERY thorough check (of all components of my car) and explained to me everything they noticed in detail and answered all of my questions (since I'm not very knowledgable on cars) and explained it in a way to help me understand. They were very honest about the urgency of these issues and rated them to most concerning to stuff that could wait and about the time frame I had until it could really start causing issues. Gave me a pretty accurate quote right away (parts and labor) and was honest that the price of some pieces could be more or less then predicted. I drove away to think about the finances and after an hour turned around to say I would like to fix all the issues they pointed out. They had an amazing Black Friday deal that definitely helped. I went back expecting to need to schedule a time but they took my car in THAT DAY and did ALL the repairs. The assistant manager (Justin) called around looking for the dealership part I needed and made sure I could have everything done that day and also at a price that was helpful to me. The mechanics and him stayed almost 2 hours past closing to finish up my car to replace all four rotors and brake pads, both control arms, and replace my battery and clean up the acid it had leaked and placed a sealant to help prevent further damage (which I kept changing my mind what I wanted to fix that day vs. wait for later and they stayed flexible when I asked if they could add back on the battery replacement). ALL IN ONE DAY AS A WALK IN. They helped me financially and made sure it was affordable, they helped with convenience and took this huge project on as a walk in (which was just an oil change at first) and stayed friendly and positive the ENTIRE time! My car has never driven smoother and I about cried the first time I used my brakes after they repaired it because it has never driven better. Bought new tires from Discount Tire to have them installed and balanced . Had bad vibrations the second I left the lot. I brought it back the next week and the mechanic admitted that he didn't balance it properly so he tired again and balanced one wheel. I still had vibrations. I brought it back AGAIN a month later and this time he said my rotors are bad. I am editing this post because I found out that I was wrong and they were right, I had bad rotors. Original Job (diagnosis, alternator, battery recharge and intake manifold gasket set) = $469.48 Which was installed with the bolts just jumping around in the engine. Over the next 60 days I went through.... * 1 new alternator purchased outside of precision = $198 * Duralast Battery x's 2 at Advanced Auto $171.71 x's 2 = $343.42 * Interstate Battery on Warranty from original = $86.00 * Car Rental for Christmas (3 days) = $252.29 * Wiring Harness ordered as instructed by Precision...after testing the harness it was good, no bad sensors = $67.50 * Uber 3 times for work $10 each = $30 Total Repairs Cost to Date: $1,446.69 By Jan,13, 2020 I was out $1K above the $470 charged by Precision. The Franchise Owner, Darryl and his Manager don't even have the decency to call me in person to discuss it. Apparently, its all my fault for not replacing the wiring harness that was still good! As someone who has worked in the auto industry for over a dozen years, I'm rarely wowed by service shops. Precision Tune Auto though is certainly the exception to the rule. Each time I've gone in, I've found them to be professional with top notch customer service and putting my needs above their profit line. When they've recommended service beyond my requests, they have offered to show me why it is needed. They have saved me expensive diagnosis fees by starting with a visual inspection. I walk in and they know me by name, and treat me with all courtesy and respect. When I've required longer repairs, they frequently followed up with me at the requested time allotments. They've been open, honest and wonderful. I'd recommend them to everyone and ever so glad that I stumbled across them. read more

Of course during this HOT HUMID weather my A/C stopped blowing cold air so for convenience I took my car to a local repair shop in Reston...They said I needed my compressor replaced and quoted me $1,900-YIKES! So I decided to get another quote and drove in rush hour from Reston to PTAC in Manassas for a 2nd opinion. Dave Coates called me the next day and said, yes I needed my compressor replaced and some other major items and said it would only cost me $800...That's more than 50% less than the other guys! So the moral of the story is it's not always about convenience but about quality, honesty and competitive price... SO WORTH DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TO YOUR SHOP! VERY BAD TRIED TO RIP ME OFF!!! I went in for the Groupon for alignment change and first time he told me my tie rods were bent and needed to change them for 300 and he couldn't do my alignment without changing the rods. After a while my car start vibrating more so I went back to get it done for 300 and he told me it would cost $1,100. I went to another mechanic and he did my alignment and told me only my right wheels rim needed to be changed for only $65. Now my car runs perfect and no problem. read more

I have brought my vehicles here a couple of times for inspections, routine maintenance and repairs. They are honest, thorough and very helpful. Twice now, they have gone the extra mile (yes...that is an intentional pun) when servicing my vehicles. During one visit for routine maintenance, they noticed one tire that was installed wrong (by another autoshop). They fixed it at no additional cost. They are overall accurate with their estimates. I have never been surprised with "extra" costs. If the estimate will change due to an issue, they will call me to discuss and get my OK before moving forward. I do recommend calling ahead and scheduling your vehicle because they are very busy and I have found it difficult to get the vehicle in as walk-in. I took my Ford 150 short bed in to get an alignment and was told that their lifts can't accommodate trucks , lol Sounded kinda crazy to me. Purchased a wheel alignment and windshield wiper replacement at Precision Tune Auto. I also purchased 4 brand new tires at Discount Tire and decided to install them here at the same time. I called the day before to make an appointment and to ask about the mount and balance (installation) fee per tire. I was told the price was $17. I set up an appt. and arrive the next day. I come with the Groupon and tires. I am told the mount and balance fee is $20 and that there is a TPMS service fee of over 28 dollars per tire ($28.XX) per tire. I disagree and state that I am unaware that there is a high fee related to TPMS and tire replacement. After I call Hyundai and notify them that they are unaware of such a maintenance, Precision Tune agrees to replace the tires but say that they are not responsible if the TPMS Light comes on (or something like this). Therefore, I am giving a low rating because 1) they increase the installation fees 2) try to charge high TPMS fees 3) and are dishonest The tires I came with to install are: 175/70-R14. According to their prices on Tire Rack the Sidewall Asepct Ratio of 60 & higher, the installation price for this tire is the cheapest. Here are the things that happened today while I was at this establishment for an inspection: 1) They lost someone's car keys, then broke into the car to try to make sure the keys weren't inside which they weren't. How does a mechanic LOSE customers' car keys? 2) A woman next to me brought her car in at 1 PM and it is currently after 4 PM and her car has yet to be taken in. 3) Another customer asked for an oil change, they forgot to add that onto her ticket and when she reminded them that she had asked for an oil change they were visibly irritated and rude. 4) I brought my car in for a simple inspection and had to wait an hour just for them to fail me because of two minor issues (brake light out, nail in tire)--not mad about being failed, mad about having to sit there with my 6 month old baby on a very busy day for an hour over something that can be done in minutes. 5) They left an open pocketknife in my backseat. Don't even know where to start with that one. Why would someone be in the backseat of my car for an inspection? Why would they be in the backseat with an open pocketknife? Why would they leave an open pocketknife in a customer's car? I have dogs and a baby and if I had not seen it that could have been dangerous for my family. I will never get my oil change here again!!! I bought a groupon for $25 that includes oil change, tire rotation and top off all my fluids. They was working on my car then the guy comes back and said the last place I received my oil change messed up the thread on my oil pan and my oil is leaking, so we would need to put an over-sized plug on the oil pan and they gave me a quote on an oil pan which is about $600-$700 or i can save money and have the guy re-thread it for about $200. I said to him i will think about it. I told him it wasn't leaking before I got here. He showed me the incorrect screw that was put on the oil pan So I said OK whatever then. He told me the over-sized plug will be about 10-15 dollars extra so I said OK. Bill came up to be $64.89. I told him how is that.. He said maintenance fee labor fee and this and that. But I told him I bought a groupon for the oil change already and he goes ohh OK .. So he deducted $25 from the bill.. So now the bill came to be about $40 so I go OK paid done.. Got home at about 5 pm stayed home for the night.. Haven't moved my car from my driveway. Got up next morning backed out... Saw a huge oil spill on my driveway about half the size of a qt of oil on the driveway and was like what is this!!! Took my car back to the shop told them what happen.. He goes ohhhh sorry but the plug is messed up. I go no u messed it up it was not the plug or anything.. They go sorry we will put back the plug u had on there before. I go OK. Now they put the original plug on there and is leaking slowly. My advice to ANYONE is not to go to this shop again. They will try to rip u off or blame someone else for their mistakes and not take fault for what they did read more
