They got me right in, and did it while i waited. It took like 30 min which is a little long, but they did it right and looked some things over (i could see). if I could leave a 0 star rating I would. I went in to have new tires and tpms sensors that I ordered from Tire Rack installed. This seemed straightforward enough. When they 'finished' not only were the tpms sensors not paired the wheels were not even balanced properly. I brought my car back same day to get this rectified and same result. I also noticed that the edges of my wheels got scuffed up so big wtf as well. Ended up buying my own TPMS tool to pair the sensors myself since they apparently couldn't figure out or believe me when I said my model requires ODB2 to do the pairing (like WTF don't tell me to just drive it around it'll pair when the sensor light is still on LOL). Whatever I'll cut my loses I guess. Weeks later I took my car to the Subaru dealership in Manchester to get them balanced by a garage I trust that probably has better equipment to get the job done. The dealer left behind some of the residue from the old wheel weights so I spent my time scraping it off with goo gone and plastic razors. Lo and behold beneath the residue was even nastier dings and scrapes to my rims (seems like they got lazy and slapped new weights over the old ones to hide this). DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION TO DO ANYTHING TO YOUR CAR IF YOU VALUE IT IN ANY WAY. Not pleased at all; the lack of care and ability to do what I paid for is appalling. Stay clear of this auto repair shop. I had them replace my A/C compressor for $1,600 on June 18, 2025. On June 17, 2026, my A/C would not go on. I called them to complain that the compressor they put in broke down in less than one year. I requested an appointment ASAP as I wanted to make a claim under the warranty. To their credit, they gave me an appointment the next day at 11am, but that is the only good news in this story. Upon arrival, they required me to sign an agreement that they could charge me $236 for a diagnostic check. After 2 hours with no feedback, I asked for an update. They said that the technician was doing the diagnostic tests now. After waiting another 45 minutes, I asked for an update, and I was told it would be just 5 more minutes. 30 minutes later, they gave me the diagnosis that the compressor needed to be replaced, and that I should also have them replace my front brake pads. I said that the compressor should be covered under the warranty, but they said the warranty was for only 6 months. I asked why they would put an A/C compressor in my car that offerred only a 6 month warranty when the industry standard for this part is one year. They said that this is the warranty that came with my purchase was my choice to which I repsonded that they never offerred me any choice, and they chose that manufacturer. Then they asked me to pay the $236 diagnostic fee. When I said that they had a lot of nerve to charge me such a hight amount after they installed a lemon of a compressor in my car a year ago, and they should at least reduce the fee, but they refused. I said that I would be writing a very bad review on their servive, and they simply said that was up to me! What a waste of # 1/2 hours of my time. I went to PepBoys for their 9.99 coupon for a review of the AC system on my 2009 Toyota Tacoma. Immediately, before they even looked at the car, they told me it would be 160 dollars instead, "or if I had the right type of AC" it may be 54 dollars. This set off red flags, I was there just for the review, to see if they could give it a quick look, maybe recommend repairs. I was looking for exactly what the service offered, visual inspection, look for leaks, pressure test the system...that was it. I was also told that even though I had made an appointment and noted at that time I would be waiting with the truck that I would have to leave it and come back tomorrow because they were busy. When I told him I could not he somehow found time to look now. After much arguing about what I was there for and clearly setting my expectations that I only want what they advertised on the coupon they took my truck back. The tech at the counter came back after about 2 hours saying the system held pressure and that since they did the inspection it would need a recharge. He made it sound as if they drained all the refrigerant out of the system to do the test, which is NOT what was on the list of what they were to do, and that I absolutely needed to pay for the recharge just because of the test that was done. I was very confused and be brought me back to the mechanic to discuss. The mechanic said they did not drain the system, but that it was empty when we brought it in and it will need a complete recharge to work. He said the system held pressure and there were no leaks so a recharge should resolve. Also, the maintenance caps were not there when we came in but the mechanic said we could replace those before the recharge so the system would be all set. The recharge and caps were going to be about 300 dollars but they did not have the caps. I told them I didn't want to move forward at that time then but when they get the caps I would consider because the mechanic had said we needed them. The tech at the counter again was pressuring on this, why were we not moving forward. After back and forth he went out back to the mechanic and somehow, somewhere, they now have the caps and I was all set to do this now. At this point I was done, I told him I was not prepared to do that now and just wanted to settle up for the diag and be done. He got very rude at that point. Even the mechanic who then drove the truck around front and brought the papers in made a comment about "what, are you going to do it yourself now that I found it?" Very pissy. When the tech at the counter rang it in he left off the coupon and tried to charge us 60 dollars, but I reminded him and after some back and forth AGAIN, he entered the coupon and I was charged the right price. Now, after the visit is where it gets REAL bad as if their attitude and the situation was not already enough to not make me go back. Since he was so pissy about it I did get a recharge kit and was going to do it myself. The gauge said the system was full, no recharge needed. Also, this is the part that gets me, when you turn my son's AC on it made a screeching noise and was awful. Another mechanic said the AC compressor or AC clutch is toast and would need to be replaced. A recharge would have done NOTHING. So, this guy doing a quick visual inspection NEVER EVEN TURNED THE AC ON!! How can you pressure test it, how can you check the charge without turning it on!! I would have paid 300 for the recharge just to still have a broken AC. I will NEVER go back there and I will actively steer people away from there anytime I get the chance. Horrible experience, tech at the counter had no knowledge, mechanic doing the work apparently didn't care enough to even turn on an AC he was inspecting because if he heard that sound he surely would have mentioned it, and overall terrible customer service experience. read more

Brought the wife's car in to replace or fix a tire after she ran over a nail. Dropped it off around 8:30 Saturday morning. Around 10:45 I get a call from Liam with the results of the "complimentary inspection" they so graciously provide. Apparently one of the wipers was torn and the air filters were dirty. Don't care, not important, I tell Liam, and I will use quotation marks here because what I said was important, "no thank you, please just fix the tire." I hear NOTHING for the rest of the day. Sunday morning I call and am told "oh, it's all set, it's here on the done hook, they must not have updated in the computer." So I head in. From the street I can see my wife's car in the parking lot with the donut still on it. Apparently Liam took "please just fix the tire" as a complete refusal of service, so now I sit here typing this while I wait for them to finish what they were supposed to do yesterday. Every time I had work done it took forever! They even installed my wiper blades incorrectly! When I went to get my tires rotated, they said they did - they lied, I had marked the tires ahead of time. When I had my brakes replaced, the calipers only lasted 1 year! I had to have my car towed to the Honda dealership. I noticed that when the Honda dealership replaced the brake calibers, they were much more "beefier"! So I learned the hard way that they use the cheapest parts possible! Then came the upsell...need tie rods, tpms sensors I had could not be read but they could sell me some. I will program them myself. It is now 11:30 and I am still waiting. Absolutely the worst business, worst location I've ever had to deal with as a fleet operator. They are indifferent, incompetent, and repeatedly lied to me about when, what, and even if they could do the work. Because it was a fleet rental I was forced to used this location. Before dropping off a van for 3 days I verified they had the tires in stock. Turns out they lied had to come back. They lied AGAIN. Finally when I sat there for SIX HOURS they put the WRONG TIRES on the van. Nissan 1500 takes HD tires, put the wrong ones on you're derating the capacity. They screwed this up TWICE WITH TWO DIFFERENT VEHICLES. Last straw was a set of in-stock tires for an F150. New tires shook worse than the old ones. Went to a different shop to get them rebalanced and the tech at Monroe found a bolt inside the tire. Said he noticed it as soon as he took it off the truck: "You can't miss something like that. I don't know how he could have balanced it with a bolt flopping around inside the rim" Never again for any reason. Avoid this place like the plague. If you get free tires from them, bring them some place else. read more

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had when dealing with car repairs/tires etc. I had made an appointment on a Sunday over the phone telling them what tires I wanted etc, and got the appointment scheduled for that Wednesday. When I showed up they let me know they were running about half an hour behind. A little frustrating sure, but I get that it happens and said ok that's fine. I provided my phone number so that I could take off on foot and do some shopping. Well it got to be about 2 hours since I had arrived and I hadn't had a phone call yet, so I decided to walk back to the shop. Mind you, I was told it should only take about 40 minutes once they got the car in. Well imagine my horror when I got back to the store only to find my car sitting exactly where I left it untouched. When I got in somebody different than who I spoke to earlier said "Oh it looks like someone was supposed to call you an hour ago, but they didn't". They proceeded to tell me they didn't actually have the tires I wanted. Somebody dropped the ball here, they had 3 days prior to this to call me to tell me they weren't in stock. They also could have told me when I dropped the car off, or heck they could have called me an hour previous to this, but someone dropped the ball big time and wasted my time. I came here specifically an hour from my house because they were having a great sale. To make matters worse they were supposed to be replacing 4 tires because one was flat, and they told me the flat couldn't be fixed, so I had to drive the hour back home on my donut tire. Do yourselves a favor and take your business elsewhere. I plan to reach out to the manager and see what they have to say, but if this isn't rectified properly I will make sure this review gets out in multiple locations to warn people. read more

They are polite, professional and most importantly honest. I overheard the technician explaining worst case scenario for the repair giving the most it could potentially cost before they even started the repair. They felt confident it wouldn't be a worst case scenario situation but wanted to prepare her just in case. That's ALWAYS what I want to know if my car needs to be repaired and it's almost impossible to get a straight answer from a mechanic. I showed up the first day without an appointment and the supervisor there was so transparent about the waiting time, so he suggested to go and be back the following day. the following day I showed up and they were quick to take my vehicle inside. I had some tints on the car which failed it. so they were quick to take actions and asked me if I can take the tints off immediately so they can pass it, also my headlight was out. after taking my tints off they quickly repaired the headlight and passed the vehicle in a matter of hour. this place is 100% recommended you just have to communicate with them and be on the same page. read more

When I arrived they said that it would be several hours before they could get me in. They rescheduled me for today at 1 pm. It is now after 3. They told the woman before me that "her headlights were aimed too high" $20 please. Imagine my surprise when they said the same thing to me. They also said I needed to pay an additional $80 to clean the area where the windshield meets the hood. Hmmm. Of course I questioned this and he said I was free to not get it done and leave - uninspected. The state system is all connected, so leaving won't help - and I have already waited, so they have me over a barrel. I went in for an inspection, and I wasn't surprised when they said I needed struts. But it was downhill from there. I was also given a list of piddly things that needed be done to pass inspection and I agreed to it. They never told me how long it would take until I had been waiting 2 hours. It took 4 hours. The labor listed was itemized by the hourly rate, but there was an additional $195 for miscellaneous labor. They charged me $40 for a cabin air filter and $80 to replace wiper blades that were fine, and $20 to aim a headlight that didn't need to be aimed. They also charged me $90 for an extended warranty. My niece and I ended up going here because she was driving with a donut tire, so very unsafe! The service was immediate, the mechanics were knowledgeable, and I was very pleased with this business. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! THEY TRIED TO SCAM ME OUT OF $1200!!! I imagine some have fallen for it, unfortunately. Terrible service, terrible staff. I dropped my car off around 11:30am on 4/14/24 for a 12pm appointment requesting a brake fluid exchange. I wasn't greeted and had to wait to even be acknowledged despite the person at the front desk, Nathaniel, not being with a customer. At 12:45pm, I received a call from a number I did not recognize while at lunch, so I did not answer. Nathaniel left a voicemail saying the technician encountered some issues with my car they would like to address and to call the shop back. I called back at 12:48, and nobody answered the call after waiting on the line for 2 minutes. I hung up and tried again at 12:50. The phone rang for another 2 minutes before someone answered and said they needed to put me on hold. I waited another minute, and nobody picked up, so I went back into the restaurant to have lunch. I received a text with the inspection report while eating, suggesting I needed a new serpentine belt, cabin air filter, spark plugs, windshield wipers, rotors, and pads. I called again at 1:26 after finishing lunch and once again nobody picked up, so I left a message declining those services (estimated at $1237) and stating I just wanted the brake fluid exchange. I received a ride to the shop and approached David (not with a customer)at the desk. Once again, I was not greeted and had to wait to be acknowledged. I informed David I had left a message and wanted to confirm they knew I only wanted the brake fluid exchange since nobody had been answering the phone. He showed me the inspection report and began walking me through what the technician, Robert R., found. I informed David that I had just had the serpentine belt, windshield wipers, and spark plugs all replaced in January. I then pointed out that I had replaced the air cabin filter one week prior myself, so I knew that was brand new. He then told me he saw my serpentine belt himself and that it is aged and cracked. I told him I wanted to see pictures because I would need to go back to the dealership if they charged me for work not completed. He said my car was still up in the air, so he would ask to have that done, but I would only get color pictures in a report. Once they closed out my service, I would only have black and white photos on my printout. I told him that was fine. I went outside to tell my ride what was happening, and as we were getting ready to leave (to come back later when the brake fluid exchange was done), we noticed my car sitting in the parking lot.No pictures were taken or sent to me, and I received notification my car was ready for pickup. I paid for the brake fluid exchange requested with Nathaniel and left. I took pictures of my serpentine belt as soon as I got home. As you can see, there is nothing wrong with it. Vehicle inspection today Technician said my headlights are to high and because the suspension can loosen them. They needed to be adjusted. Idk if this is a thing? Especially the machine that measures them can be adjusted up and down. Anyways the wipers needed to be replaced and it was shown to me it was warranted. So that was legit, but the price they were charging is ridiculous. I literally went next door and bought wipers for the third of the price they were charging. I still am skeptical of this whole headlight adjustment thing. 20 dollars each head light, I think its a rip off/them just trying to screw another customer. Matter a fact I have a friend who works at another Pep boys and he warned me to never go because they do shady shit ! And he works at one. Run away, Don't recommend: store manager shouldn't have a job. I made an appointment for 9am online for an inspection and oil change. I got there on time, and was quoted $150 (pretty high but okay) I asked how long it would be and they said 1.5 hours. I got picked up instead and around 3pm I. called to see if they had an update. They didn't and said they would call around 5:15pm (45 min before they close) call and ask for an update they said they were about to bring it in now. They had it for 8 hours when I had a 9am appointment and hadn't even brought it in yet. The man on the phone interupts and says 'mam we've been back to back" I tell them don't work on my car and I'm just gonna come and grab it (I need it for work and can't leave it there). So my fiance picks up my keys and they don't even offer an apology. Their customer service is highly lacking, no apology or anything. "If the place is so back to back and had 10 hours of work from the previous day left over" then they need to shut their appointment systems off or stop taking more walk ins. Or if mistakes happen then have the decency to call customers, or offer some incentive to make it correct. I should have listened to all of the negative reviews. One of the worst experiences I've had, the girl at the desk was incredibly rude. She was wearing a sweatshirt with a hood which was up over her head. Very unprofessional looking regardless of the business. I showed up about 20 minutes early for my appointment, which I acknowledged. I said I had an appointment at 10, she rolled her eyes at me and said you're early. Which I understand, I wasn't rude or demanding, I just said okay no problem. She sighed and asked if I was leaving my car, I said I had planned on waiting she then barked that it would be a two hour wait because I was a half an hour early. I was taken aback by her response. So I said what would the wait be if I showed up at 10. She snapped back with an hour and a half. Even though I had an appointment, she went off about how you can't walk in and be seen immediately. Which I understand and wasn't expecting to be seen. I told her to cancel my appointment and would go somewhere else where they are not as rude. Made an appointment for 8:00 am (the first appointment of the day) for an oil change and tire rotation at the Nashua NH location. When I showed up at 8:00, there was only one other customer in the waiting area. It took almost three hours of waiting before my car was ready. And on top of that frustration, they over-charged me for the oil change and never rotated the tires as I had requested. No excuse for this level of service and incompetency. read more

I recently got a state inspection from them and was very disappointed with the experience. They failed my car and quoted me $800 in work. I was told my lights were too high for NH, even though my car was purchased from a dealer and the lights have been working perfectly fine. They also told me my rotor needed replacement due to rusting and a faulty brake pad. I took the car to my mechanic who told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with the rotor. I now wish I didn't pay them 200 to fix the lights knowing that they were also fine for inspection. Would not recommend read more

This mornings' excuse for why it was going to require 2 hours for a simple tire rotation and oil change was "we're short staffed". Then manager said I'll try and get it done in an hour and a half. Not acceptable ( They originally told me when I asked to schedule for yesterday, oh no we'll be too busy to do that on Friday but Saturday should be no problem). Is it brain surgery to figure out how to staff properly and make sure you have proper coverage? How about asking yourself , if someone calls out sick am I prepared to cover for that... First of all these guys deleted my original honest review which is not right I won't stop making the reviews until they stand , brought my truck in for inspection these guys just tried to scam people I brought my brand new truck In which had no mechanical issues I know what I'm talking about. I rebuild dirtbike motors on the side. They tried to tell me I needed a new tie rod, which is a job that takes under an hour and is probably $100 -200 dollar job, I brought the truck to another well-known shop for an inspection, they jacked up my truck and there was absolutely zero play in my wheels they also tried to say that my lights were aiming an inch to high When they're stock LED lights They tried to charge me just about $600 for just a tie rod and to move the lights down an inch all these guys try to do is scam you and get money out of you and if you have no clue what you're talking about then they will most likely do so stay far away from Pep Boys read more
