Do not avoid... run. I had a tire blowout and needed emergency service. I purchased 2 tires. The price alone was a horrible experience.there policy is to remove every tire and inspect brakes and try and upsell additional service. They then called me to offer brake service. At a price point that is unreasonable. Declined and I made the comment I would do my own repairs. There response was to tighten lug nuts so tight. I wouldn't be able to get them off. 15 min with a torch and lug nuts still started to strip. The level of evil to do this to people who can't afford there service is disgraceful. I went to the location in Little Havana. Had to change my tires and they did a great job. They started working on my car as soon as I agreed upon the price. My only complaint is that I spoke on the phone the day before with one of the sales associates - Julio - who gave me an estimate that nobody could find in the system. I had an appointment scheduled and the attendant told me that even though I have an appointment it would take approximately 1.5 hours to do my oil change. I waited 2h15min!!! And only didn't wait longer because I went up to service desk to find out it had been ready for who knows how long?Additionally, they are renovating the front area near the service desk and it's extremely loud and dusty. This is not a conducive work environment for the workers inside, nor an acceptable place for customers that are sitting waiting on their vehicles to be serviced. Their appt book online is quick and simple w available slots on the same day until late evening. Drop off interaction is simple and hassle free. They provide a free check on wheel alignment and tire rotation. They'll top you off if you need air in your tires or any fluids. I recently got my oil changed, got replacement brakes, and coolant flush. All this at a fraction of the cost. The service agent was in constant communication of anything wrong that may need immediate attention which can be addressed in that same appt or at a later day. They are never pushy to sell a service. Car is driven locally just a few miles per week, and it is near the end of its life, but safety is important. They offered a 40,000 mile tire at reasonable price installed. Took my car in for a tire patch. My tires are less than a year old. The front desk was very cordial. However, the mechanic was either lacking in knowledge or trying to pull a fast one. They said my tire wasn't reparable because the puncture was sideways, not in the sidewall....that it entered sideways. After taking it to another shop they fixed it with no issue. Their quote was $200 for a new tire and installation. My cost at the other shop was $25 for a simple patch. That said, I would check with other vendors before trusting the mechanics at this shop. read more

I was apprehensive about trying this place due to the more negative reviews, but I had great service and wanted to share. I made an appointment Saturday at 8am for an oil change and to have them take a look at my battery. I showed up at 7:55 and was the only one at the counter. Jorge helped me and said I was the first customer there so the wait shouldn't be too bad. They called me at about 8:15 and said I would need a new battery in addition to the oil change. I told them to go ahead and then called me at 9:10 to say my car was ready to be picked up. I would definitely recommend making an appointment and showing up early. But I found them to be timely and the prices to be pretty standard. The employees at the front desk also speak English very well. I would also recommend going to Versailles down the street for breakfast while you wait. Overall, a solid place to go for an oil change. read more

Second time I try to use this location for service and its been equally terrible both times. This latest episode we booked an oil change for 11 am, and dropped car off at 10:30. Tried calling numerous times to find out status of car and no one answered. So showed up at 2 pm and car had not moved from spot where we left it. Asked service advisor for a status and was basically told they where behind on appointments and could not get to car for another hour and a half. When asked why he would not tell us this when we dropped off car and he just shrugged his shoulders and offered no answer. They broke my headlight and refused to take responsibility when I have documentation FROM THEM that my headlight was fine when I came in. They offered to show me the camera footage and when I said yes, they refused and gave excuses. They stooped as low as to laugh in my face and say I was just there for a "free headlight". If you're considering this location, think again. They attempted to "recommend" a lot of unnecessary items essentially doubling my initial quoted price. They even attempted to allege 3 of my tires needed to be replaced due to wear and tear and that miraculously the 4th had a nail. I barely drive and replaced my tires over the last 1.5 years so I knew this was BS. The service rep went as far as to tell me he could not put the tire with a nail back on due to the location of the nail. Long story short, after realizing I have run flats and they had no run flats in stock, and only after I demanded my vehicle back today, they finally relented and told me they would put the tire back on. My mother in law took my car here to get the tires and breaks done. 1100 dollars later my tires vibrate and my breaks squeak. Not a little tiny squeak, an embarrassing loud squeak. My car was done on Jan 26 at first I though maybe it was because they were new and needed to be broken in but the squeak had gotten worse. I've been trying to contact the store to see if I can bring it in to have it looked at but I can't even get a employee on the phone I've spent over 15 mins on hold and then was hung up on. Today I got lucky though the mechanic Pedro was professional and was able to help me with my car needs. The wait time is incredibly frustrating, especially when you have an appointment already made. That said they are very attentive and try their best to get the work done as fast as possible. So disappointed. Been servicing my car with pep boys for many years, even prior to moving to Miami. Had my car serviced and came home to realize that they had not put the hub caps back on. Called the store to get the front desk, be transferred to the correct department where the phone rang for 5-10 minutes with no answer. Continued in this cycle about 3-5x a day for a week until I finally was off work during the hours the store was open. I came to the store and told them they hadnt our the hub caps on and got a blank stare. I had the originals from my car, which were the car brand name priced at about $50+ a piece. After much running around they gave me their cheapest hub caps in store as a replacement... $40 total. Then they couldn't find someone to put them on, after waiting about an hour, they asked if I could come back. After explaining this was the only time I could come with my work hour, I got another blank stare and they said they would work on it. After having to stand over the service desk after 20 min they found someone who could put the hub caps on and did so. An email was send to customer service who said they would follow up with me within 48 hours. Here were are several weeks later and haven't heard a thing. And this isn't the first issue I've had with pep boys.... so be careful and make sure they aren't stealing parts off your car. read more
