I bring my car here for the first time, I probably won't return because I always take it to the dealer where I bought my car. I realize that there is something wrong when I turn on the car, I thought it was a starter so I told the gentleman to check and he kept on insisting that it's because of battery. I kept on telling him: are you sure?? I changed the battery 18 months ago. Yes Battery. Battery. Okay let change the battery. Almost 200$. When I am about to leave the car couldn't turn on so I brought it back in. Oh yes yes the starter, another 600$. Really??? I got upset so I left, brought it to my dealer. Right the way they said yes we need to replace the starter. Sometimes it's better to pay more for the better service. I wasted the battery for 200$. Sad! read more

I've been coming here to this location for tires for years and they have always done good work. The one time I had any trouble with a tire they put in, the warranty was still in effect and I was able to pop into a nearby Pep Boys and have the issue resolved in 10 minutes. While surfing the web looking for a good price on tires, I came across the buy 3 get 1 free promotion. While I was only looking for 2 tires this month, I had to take advantage of the deal. Placed an order online and scheduled an appointment. The day of they called to confirm (albeit it was before 9am which was too early) and when I got there they had the tires pulled down and were ready to go. In one hour tires were on and I was paying and on my way out the door. With all the necessary paperwork for the promotion rebate. Decided to take my car for an oil change to Pep Boys. Bad bad bad decision. I had an appointment and dropped off my car. The guy told me that they were taking the car right away since they didn't have anyone ahead of me. I told the guy I was going next door for a bite. One hour and 15 minutes later I come back and I see my car parked in the same spot I left it. I did the customer line again, another 10 minutes. And when I approached the guy he went to grab the keys and I asked if it was ready and he said that he would look for someone to take care of it right away. Really? Every time I come here there is a ridiculous wait to even get spoken to. I understand the wait for services as there's obviously a queue but the fact that I have to wait 10-15 just to get a "hello what's the problem?" When im the only person standing there is ridiculous. Maybe management should consider having someone manning the desk AT ALL TIMES for anyone who comes in. I got there and there was no one. This is not the first time this has happened. I also think the prices are ridiculous. The mechanics and people doing the actual work may be great and willing to work with you, but the sales associates and pep boys as a brand apparently, couldn't care less about helping or up charging the crap out of everything. I set up an appoointment for an oil change and tire rotation. William greeted me and checked me in right at 8am. I had some things to work on the car and asked them if it was ok to attend to them before they pulled the car in. They gave the car an oil change, tire rotation, checked the transmission fluid and lubricated a door handle that was not working. All for 32 dollars. WOW!!! Can't believe it! Came here for the first time and thought "its going to take some time but the job is going to get done no worries". Once I picked up my truck I noticed my tire light was on. Huh? I don't remember tire light being on. I Asked them to look at it and this one little guy was trying to charge me when it wasn't like that when I brought it in. Then they said it might just need a little air now, that didn't fix the problem. Yet in the owners manual it says when rotating the tires you need to reset the sensors duh!! So I left and came back a month give them a second chance. WOW HOW HORRIBLE IS THIS PLACE!!!! I said ok it going to take an 1hr 1/2 no worries. My truck sat in the parking lot for 2hrs before a mechanic looked at it and mean just stood looking at it. Finally the truck gets taken in and start the oil change. It took the guy 30min jut to find the right socket for the nut screwed into the pan. Once he drained it he drop the truck and put the quartz of oil on top of the truck. Tell me why instead of poring the oil into truck he starts walking around looking for something to do. Example change the bags to all the trash cans. BRO! There is a truck right in front of you that needs to get done. Still here, it's been 3hrs and they just started pouring the oil. I feel like I am going to be here for 5 hours and yet there 5 mechanics walking around doing nothing. Now the tires are being rotated I didn't even see them check my tires for air leaks. So my truck is ready and it's been 4 hrs and they are finished. Time to check the light. I knew it was the rotation of the tires. Come on guys 4 hrs to do all that. read more

The gesture is appreciated. Absolutely dreadful experience here. Walked in with an appointment at 2:00pm and was told it would take 1.5-2 hours. I'm still waiting here 2.5 hours later. Went to check in on the status and was told "I can help you in 10 minutes" with no explanation, then onto the next customer. When I checked in, Julien was helping me and took about 20 minutes to check me in because he was on the phone dealing with customers and setting up appointments despite having started talking to me. Pricing did not match online appointment that I made. Julien didn't know their stock of different kinds of oil. Really just horrific service. Don't waste your time or money here! read more

I arrived here at 11:00 AM and I'm still waiting for my vehicle to get look at for. Simple tire pressure it's marking on my dash board. The vehicle is taking to loooooong to be even looked at. Yes I understand it's faster when you make an appointment. I need the car checked ASAP NOT TOMORROW. I work with Uber and I'm always on the road. Things happen and need to be tended to ASAP. I haven't had the best luck in this place. It almost feels like they only care about making money and care less about your concerns. And why sell standard brakes that sound horrible in the streets for only to tell me I will have to pay the difference for an upgrade? What's the point of selling standard then? I also bought new tires about 2 months ago from them and ended up having a small screw in it whixh caused it to have a flat. I only needed it to be patched. Of course, since I'm a female I guess they want to take advantage and tell me bad news is that I need new tires because they're wasted? We were in the market for 4 new tires and an alignment (super easy job) grand total came out above our current funds limit but they assured us that if we opened a credit card we can pay with the card. When it came time to pay the credit card came out decline and they told us there was nothing they can do. That is unacceptable. Id expect this type of bait and switch from mom and pops store but not a pep boys. Ernesto and william helped us. Worst experience we have ever had. So now our credit was checked and we had to pay out of pocket money that we did not intend to use just because of a mistake of an employee. They look like they require more training. I came here with a coupon for a $50 full synthetic oil change. The $50 oil change turned into a $100 oil change. They said the oil filter was an extra $10 plus an extra $30 for 1 quart of oil. Keep in mind that Pep boys sells premium synthetic oil for under $10. Then they tacked on $10 because Volvos are high end cars and are harder to change. I have changed the oil on Porsches and my Volvo, there is no difference. One nut to drain the oil, then use an oil wrench to remove the oil filter. There is plenty of room to do it all. No one has ever charged me more for my Volvo. read more

I was constantly receiving the upsale from the counter salesman. I originally just wanted a balance on one tire. I was told my tires were so bad they wouldn't balance them and he quoted me 450 dollars for 2 tires. I grabbed my keys and left. I got a quote from another pep boys for 2 tires and an alignment for under 300. I was told 192 per tire was the best he could do. Those tires on the website were under 100 each. If I could give 0 stars for customer service, I would. Left my car for an oil change, which they told me would take 3-4 hours and they would call me when it was ready. I received a call for some suggested repairs (new air filters, which they suggest to me every time regardless of whether or not they were just changed), but then never received a call that my car was ready. When I called to check on the status, they had already closed, so I was left without a car. I went to pick the car up first thing the next morning, and found my car left outside in the parking lot, unlocked, and the window wide open. It had been left like that overnight in a less than ideal area with no security. It was also left under a tree so my passenger seat was filled with tree sap and leaves that came through the window. There was no manager on duty to speak with, and when I called back later when the manager was supposed to be in, I was told no manager was on duty and there was nobody there "in charge." I wasn't sure who was running this place with this poor quality of service, but now I understand since nobody is in charge! read more

Severely disappointed with the service department. Got my oil changed there 2 months ago (it took 2 hours) and was told that I needed my rear brake pads replaced at the end. I said that I didn't have time to do it then and would come back. Fast-forward to today and I create an appointment and select the brake service I need (said online the full service would cost $159). I made sure to bring a printout of the online quote so there was no room for misconception of the price as previous reviews have indicated that this store is not particularly trustworthy. Upon getting to the service area, there is nobody to be found. A line of disgruntled people formed behind me as we waited 15 minutes for somebody to come to the service desk. Once the service employee returns from his extended hiatus, I inform him of my appointment and ask to confirm the price of replacing my brake pads, even showing him the quote printout to confirm. He toils around on his computer (saying he's pricing it out) for a couple minutes and then enters into the following dialogue: Employee: "How does $361 sound? (as if testing that number to see if I'd agree to that unsolicited scam of a price)" Myself: "That sounds ridiculous. What happened to the $159 that your website is marketing as well as what I signed up for?" E: "Well I see in my system that you need an additional part for your brakes. That's the extra $202" M: "I was told by a co-worker of yours that I simply needed my brake pads replaced. In any case, all I need is the full brake service that your website claims to offer for $159" E: "Well let me see what I can do... (toils around on computer for another minute)... ok well do you care if your brakes are really cheap and squeak a lot?" M: "I'd obviously prefer that to not be the case, but is that the brake that you would install for $159?" E: "Well I don't recommend that, but that would cost you $286." M: "Absolutely not happening. I'm getting the brake service that I agreed to online for $159" E: "We can't do that" M: "Then I'll take my car elsewhere" E: "Wait, well I can get you a 15% discount." M: "Not happening. You marketed a rate and are not being true to it. I'll go elsewhere" E: "Wait maybe we can work something out?" M: (leaves store) If you're looking to negotiate the price of your service from extortionate to slightly-less outrageous, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would take my business elsewhere. Best pep boys in town. Very honest men and very very timely. I always get my car before they told me it was going to be ready.

I use this place often and it has the same pros and cons. The service department is quick and easy to deal with. It always appears busy but they manage their service well. The store itself is laid out well. It is easy to find what you are looking for. If you need help in the store good luck. Their are usually 4 to 5 staff members standing around talking and not helping a person. If you need to checkout that's even harder. I was pushed around by the staff pointing me to another person to help me. I told the manager and he hid himself in the cubicle. Lazy employees and even worse a bad manager. read more

Horrible and extremely unhelpful. I went into pep boys unfortunately because my donut was not accessible at the time and even if it was, it was low. Needed a new tire badly so I booked the 8th street location because it was the closet to Brickell. I bought and booked the tire online, received confirmation that my appointment and tire were ready for installation. I came 30 minutes before my appointment to the unhelpful rep who wanted to argue with me about not being able to service the car. I had to haggle him and he was fine you'll wait till about 930pm to 10pm. Asked why confirm appointments if you won't be able to service at the time. He mentioned there was 5 cars in front, lies there was only 3. Then to make matters worse the tire I chose was not available. When online they showed the ones that were available and the ones that would take a few day before they were in stock. I chose from the ones in stock again the rep was unhelpful and just said they have this problem always. He wanted to charge me for a more expensive equivalent tire, I haggled because of the inconvenience that I shouldn't pay extra. Not happy and will rather take my chances if this happens again. I can't believe I wasted my time by giving this place another chance. This time I came in with a different issue on my car. They didn't even bother looking at my car. The door to my car for what ever reason won't open. They tell me that they don't fix that here. I can't believe this business is still running. Mind you that I saw some great prices on other products i was going to purchase. I was literally about to grab 2 buckets and go on a shopping spree but after being turned away once again. Who in their right mind would buy products here. I even had a confirmed appointment. I wrote in detail what the issue was on my car and the appointment was confirmed. William Jorrin is the manager of this store, he's also who happened to help me as soon as I walked in. 15 minutes I was in and out - no appointment - no hassle - hardly a wait! I just needed a quick battery replacement and William even matched a price I was given elsewhere. Work seemed to have been done clean, neat and the electrical system seems to have been re-set so even radio channels are still like pre-set! Thank God I found them - this is my new go to store - William Jorrin is good - he's efficient, solves problems & is a nice guy...I'll make sure to see him again next time!! read more
