Great service, much better than car dealership service! Pep Boys doesn't sell you anything you don't need. Highly recommended.

The people in this store were amazing. We had a tire with a gash in it late on a Saturday night. It is a weird size tire, almost impossible to get. They didn't have it in stock, but called around to several other tire stores nearby to help us find one - even though they made no money on the sale. I only wish we lived near this store so we could use it more often. read more

You should be ASHAMED! Had us sit there for almost 2 hours after arriving on time for our appointment only to be told they'd have to keep the car and call me with a price the next day. Assessed my vehicle and told me it needed new power steering with upper and lower hoses. Quoted me $943 and some change. Thank God I said no, thank you! Just came from getting it fixed elsewhere. EIGHTY SEVEN DOLLARS because all it was was a loose hose. I can't even begin to tell you how irate I am at that blatant attempt at robbery and your unscrupulous behavior. Used this store for several years as it was convenient to where I live but after my last visit I finally gained the motivation to go elsewhere. Went in for new brake pads and ended up with a $3k estimate. Declining everything but the brakes, I reluctantly gave them my business for the last time. Mind you the car is about 10 years old with 140k miles and probably not even worth 3 grand at this point. Listening to to their ridiculous sales pitch to get all this work done, you would think the car was ready to fall apart. Some months later when I took the car to a local mechanic for oil change, I told them about what happened and was met with eye rolls. They took a look and laughed off the ludicrous suggestion that my alternator belt was failing, the absurd thought that my steering column needed to be rebuilt, and the ridiculous notion that fuel pump hose was ruined. Pep boys, or perhaps just this store in particular, is built on throwing these outlandish suggestions at you with the hopes you just concede to their whims. There's no sense of customer service when you're making a sales pitch, and they certainly don't value repeat customers the way an independent mechanic does. Unfortunately, I've waited a long time to learn this lesson. But you don't have to. read more

I had enough of these people. I kept going to them thinking they would redeemed themselves. They put a default starter on my car. I will not go back to them again. Watch out for Shawn he switch up his words all the time. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I just have to write a review. This is not my first negative experience at this Pep Boys. So early last year I had my exhaust and catalytic converter replaced. I brought my car in for an oil change and to see if I can get my A/C looked at before the summer starts. What was I hit with? "You need a new catalytic converter and exhaust". "Huh..what?!" was my response. These guys have no record of it being done. I am infuriated right now. So either you guy's didn't update the system, updated it incorrectly or are just trying to out right cheat/steal money. Hell if they didn't update the system that might imply they stole money as well. I asked to have the manager call me back because this is not the first time I've called them on their record keeping. Waiting for my call back. Regardless of the outcome, this is the last time I go to Pep Boys of Princeton...last damn time!!! read more

Horrible experience at a Pep Boys service center Fairless Hills, PA. I took my car in due to a dead battery. When I checked in at the service desk, I told the technician my car battery went dead twice in the past week, the second time being after it was charged overnight. He took notes, and asked if there was anything else. I told him the car loses power at low speeds but only when the engine is cold. He gave a dismissive shrug and rolled his eyes. I said "well, it's not as important as the dead battery, but it's like the RPM's have to build up to get power when it first starts, I don't know if that's just the car, or a problem. The technician said nothing, but finished my paperwork and told me they would call. The next morning, Pep Boys called and said it was the battery; that they checked the alternator, generator, etc, and it's just the battery. They advised that the warranty (Silver Rock) would not cover the battery, but they could replace it for $209. I declined that service and said I would pick the car up that night and pick up a battery on my own. When my husband and I arrived to pick up the car it was raining heavily. When we walked back to the service center, my husband slipped and fell due to water on the floor from customers wet from the rain. When my husband hit the floor, a gaggle of technicians hanging out behind the counter looked, and stared, but not one word of concern, no "are you alright?", nothing. I paid at the service center for the battery charge and check, and noticed the invoice said nothing about the "loss of power at low speeds", so I assume the technician felt it did not warrant checking. When I went outside to get my car, I found it with the driver side window left half open, and the interior door panel and edge of car seat soaked with rain. I was angry, but decided to let it go, and I wiped down my car and left. On the way home, when I tried to close my window, it would not work. The window had never malfunctioned before taking the car into Pep Boys. I'm guessing the technician was not deliberately negligent, or didn't vandalize the window given there was no sign of damage to the buttons, but, the problem did occur while a Pep Boys technician was operating the window. Again, when the car was dropped off, the window worked fine, and the car was locked. It either was left open out of negligence, and the rain ruined the switch on the door, or the switch broke when the technician tried to close the window, so he just left it open. Either option shows pretty lousy personal character and a lack of professional standards of any kind. That night I drove across town to leave my car in a friends garage over night so it would not be stolen due to the open window. The next day I called Pep Boys in a panic and spoke to an assistant manager in the service department. I explained what happened and that the car was not safe from theft or vandalism with the window left open. I also asked why a technician would leave a car like that; in the pouring rain with the window open, and not say a word to anyone! Try to imagine the level of reliability and responsibility that person must posses to walk away from that situation feeling no need for follow up of any kind. What value were my feelings or my property to that technician, and Pep Boys in general? Is this an example of trustworthy employees who are cultivating a strong consumer base for Pep Boys? Is this the kind of service Pep Boys is satisfied with, forget even trying to be proud of ? By the way, the new batter is dead after 3 days, so the Pep Boys diagnostic skills are just as poor as your customer service skills and level of integrity. I am resolving this issue on my own by taking my vehicle to a qualified service center. I have also decided to work tirelessly in making sure every contact I know professionally and personally is aware of the standard practiced by Pep Boys. Isn't anyone at Pep Boys Corporate curious or concerned that most of the Pep Boys tweets on twitter are responses to poor customer practice? So my wife and I are here from out of town. The alternator went out on our car and had to towed to this pep boys.They sold us a $195.00 alternator but there was an alternator online (pepboys) for $92 but they couldn't get it. The $195 one was the only one they could get even though it said online I could pick up the $92 the next day. They also said the battery was bad but alternator went bad so i'm sure the battery had low voltage. They should have put the new alternator on, started the car so the battery could charge, then tested the old battery. Of course the old battery is going to read low voltage without being charged. I thought pep boys had free instullation but not on this car. They charged $10.30 to install and wanted an extra $9.99 to clean the battery terminals. I mean seriously it takes thirty seconds to clean 2 terminals and spray some terminal spray. Honestly this is one of the easiest batterys to change ( 03 honda accord v6). O and also a $32.41 shop fee after paying $103 for labor. Then they try to make you feel all warm and fuzzy and give you 20% off. I've never in my life seen a place try to nickle and dime people like this place. I would never be able to sleep at night if I worked here. I don't understand how they can take advantage of people like this and the sad part is most people don't even know how bad they are getting screwed. read more
