I had thought that I heard a cat stuck under the inside of my car. The guys were great. They got me in right away to look for a cat. If you need tires or tire work done don't go to Pep Boys. I scheduled an appointment using there App. That was a mistake. Pep Boys does not honor there commitment. They apparently over schedule and do not have the staff to do the work. I went down the street to Les Schwab, no appointment. They took me right in and completed my flat repair in about 30 minutes. I was in desperate need of a tire repair ON A SUNDAY! Nothing was open except for PEPboys. I gave them a call to see if they could squeeze me in last minute. Myles checked around and said he would be able to squeeze me in. Upon entering PEPboys, their customer area was very clean. I was greeted by Myles with a warm smile. He let me know that they were going to take great care of me. While waiting for my car, Myles did an excellent job communicating with me, letting me know about the status of my tires. Went there to have an oil change. Done waited almost 2 hours. And I do not believe they changed my oil.l is still dark i don't think my truck even moved from the spot. I had it parked in front of. There was no sticker on the windshield. And they did not reset my maintenance light. read more

Made an appointment with Pep Boys to get an oil change, came back an hour and a half later to find that they had not even started the oil change, and the car was in the same spot. I had left it in. Staff was very uncaring and unprofessional, when asking them how long it was going to be, they were acting condescending and would not give me a straight answer. very sexist never coming back again. read more

These guys clearly didn't go to automotive school. Came to my appointment for my oil change, my car was blowing white smoke because we overfilled it with oil, this is the most basic common knowledge that a car smokes when it's over filled. Guy Myles comes out shaking his head before he even gets to our car and we are the last appointment before they close so I know he's about to make whatever excuses he can not to service us because he was irritated we were even there. He precedes to pretend like he can't get the car to drive and then tells us he refuses to service our vehicle and cancels on us. So now we are stuck in their parking lot having to drain the oil ourselves so we don't cause engine damage. Customer service is dead with this new generation of kids and it's sad. We will never return to this Pep Boys. I hope management at least teaches these kids what a car does when someone accidentally puts in too much oil. I wish I could select lower than one star. I would give them a minus. I took my car here to get an oil change. Simple but when they called me back to come get my car and said it was ready to be picked up so I came and got my car thanked them. It felt very positive but then when I got in my car and drove it and it never ran the same again. I lost a serious amount of power to my car. I don't know what they mess with but I have a feeling it was intentional. You don't do an oil change on somebody's car and then their car runs like s*** right afterwards. Also, they're very very very overpriced, also had to add this. Did you notice that the the pep boys owner or whoever that is only responds to five star reviews but when there's people that have an issue with the company they just blow you off like you're nothing. I came here due to a referral and I'm guessing they must have changed ownership or managers because I've had nothing but horrible experiences. The first time I came here I asked for a quote on a service, I called another mechanica who couldn't beat that price and when I told them to go ahead and book it, they adjusted the price $200 more, right on the spot, less than a minute from the original quote. That alone right there shouldve made me never come back. The second time I tried to do business with them, I scheduled an appointment online, to come in the next day only to ne turned away telling me their computers were broke. I said no biggie, when can you reschedule me? The guy tried to build a lil rapport by goin outside and taking a look at cat. He told me to come back at 4pm and he would try to fit me in the schedule. When I came back not only did he pretend to not recognize me he then said if I were a hot chick it might have helped. Oh and by the way...they quoted me 300 to change headlight bulbs, a job I ended up doing myself that took less than a half an hour. I guess they think that just because you drive a luxury sports car they think you're an instant money grab. Not only are these guys unprofessional, they're disgusting as well, if you're a woman, expect to be dealing with a bunch of incompetent dishonest perverts. I've only been there twice so far, and they've taken really good care of me each time! The first was back in December 2020. I had to replace all four tires and they were out of the ones I had reserved online. They offered me an upgrade and gave me a really reasonable discount on them as well! Then today, I brought it in to get a tire patched and an oil change and found out that ALL of my break lights were out. Since it was a safety hazard they replaced my break lights for free, and did such an amazing job checking everything else in my car. My commute to and from work is really far throughout the week, so thank you guys for taking really good care of me! This is where I'll continue to go for all of my car care needs! read more

I scheduled an oil change for today at 2:00. I show up at 1:45. I have taken my cars here before. I usually wait in the lobby about 45 minutes to an hour. I live a little ways away and meridian traffic is no fun. When I arrive they tell me it will be at least three hours as we are short handed and backed up. I said I would have appreciated a phone call, so I didn't have to waste my time coming down here. I am very disappointed as this is the second time I have had issues with them. Sent my wife in to price/replace a battery for her Nissan. She was told the only battery that would work was a high end $235 battery and since it was a difficult 45m job, it would be another $118 to install it. 4 bolts later and for $135 autozone across the street had her back on the road in under 10 minutes with free installation and wouldn't even take the tip she offered the man for helping. This morning i tried to call and discuss the situation, but was left on hold over 15 minutes and no one ever answered. I will be contacting their corporate office to see if they care at all, as it seems no one at the Puyallup store did. I had an engine light come on in my SubaruCrosstrek and was unsure what the problem was. I called a local dealer and was told it would be 175.00 to check it and if I paid by credit it would be a 3 percent surcharge. ridiculous! I called Pep Boys on Meridian in Puyallup and spoke with Ritchie who said they would put it on the diagnostic machine and see what the problem was. I brought it right in and Ritchie checked it out and there was just a stuck sensor. He charged me NOTHING for this service and bent over backwards to help. He reset the car for me too. This isn't the first time I have gone to Pep Boys and they have helped me. They put on windshield wipers for free and I have purchased a new battery and bulbs from them which they installed for free. My husband placed an order through Amazon for two front tires, which were received by a store associate on 4/20. When I showed up to get them installed the manager, Marc Davis gave me such a hard time about a confirmation number to "prove" that we paid for the tires. Not only was he unprofessional about the whole situation, but he kept giving me a don't give a damn" attitude when I insisted that we did in fact, pay for the tires & showed him the order number we got from Amazon. He didn't even bother to look for the tires with the order or tracking number I provided. He stood there with a blank stare. FINALLY Rich came in as he overheard the whole thing & took over. At first, they couldn't find the tires & said that they weren't there. Which was so frustrating because we had a Delivered confirmation. After insisting that they check the cameras at the date & time stamped delivered, WE finally found them right smack in the middle of the floor. My son and I purchased two used cars after a crash totaled one of our cars. When we made the purchase of the cars we said we would take them to Pep Boys and have them gone over for any issues that need to be corrected. We of course assumed there would be some because there used. I want to say that both cars were drive-able as we had been driving them for about a month with no serious issues. We paid $3k for each car. I received a call to come down to go over my car and was hit with a huge report of issues and a cost of approx $5000. So when I paid and was handed my keys I expected there would be no problems with my car. The following morning as I drove to work my jeep was all over the freeway, swerving back and forth,I I thought this is it I.m going to crash. I immediately took the car back and watched as a tech to it for a drive, went up the street turned and came right back. I knew he felt it also. So I'm not going to continue all of my visits only to say I ended up paying an additional $3.8k in repairs and it was never fixed and I feel I was taken for a ton of money. A car that cost my $3K ending up costing me $11k with the repairs that did nothing. As for my sons car we paid $3k in repairs which was surprising but like I said before we expected some repairs. Within a day when we drove my sons car it appeared to be idling loud. When we took it in for an oil change they said the accentuate belt needed to be replaced. But why was this not found when we initially brought it in. So i essentially paid $7k for his car. I will never take my car to this Pep Boys ever again nor any other Pep Boys and the tech even got mad at me when he asked me to take the car to another repair shop to have looked and I didn't after I decided it wasn't my job to take it somewhere that that was his. My check engine light was on and my check the brakes notification was too. I impulsively stopped in because my nephew recommends this particular Pep Boys. They had an opening /no show and saw my car right away. The professional and excellent customer service I experienced was very appreciated. My brake rotars were shot. Instead of just saying it, they showed me the wear. Let me touch and then explained what happens when they are worn down that low. They fixed my brakes and fixed my broken engine coil. Also changed out my spark plugs. My car was a VW Tiguan (I just traded it in for a new car) and it ran smoothly afterward. I so appreciate the front desk and mechanics who made me a good deal and didn't keep my car overnight. I recommend and endorse the Pep Boys on Meridian in Puyallup WA. read more

Horrible customer service. Schedule on line to our 2 cars to get oil changes. Get confirmation Via text and everything is set up. Next day 5pm get a call saying they noticed we have appointments but can't honor it. Said we needed to make new appointments. Ok I said, let's do that. Was told needed to call next day because the person on phone was tired and wanted to go home. That's not acceptable! Will never go there for anything. I have taken my Jeep here three times now for the exact same thing. My engine was making noises. The first two times I paid $3000+ each trip for them to replace parts. They told me I was all good and wouldn't need anything else for a long time. I was back literally the next day, same thing. My engine was still making noises. They said they tightened a seal that was loose and that I was good to go and that it all looked good to them and sounded good to them. Here I am, maybe a week later and my engine is still making sounds and the check engine light is now on. The crew here is nice but their work is obviously subpar and the labor prices are out the roof especially considering the one thing I took my Jeep for has still not been fixed. I Called them to set up a appointment for a full diagnostic, the guy said 90$ over the phone 120.28$ after tax for a full diagnostic guy said they will have my car for a few hours. I went in told them I had my appointment today and then decided to mention after I already went to go rent a trailer load my car and drove 25 mins there. They decided to say to say it's 120$ to start and every hour after that will be an additional 100$ every hour. So all in all they lie about prices and waste your time. read more

Would love to have begun using these guys over Jiffy Lube, but after sitting here for 3 hours waiting for their truck to deliver fuel additive that should already be on hand if they are offering the service, I just can't see these guys as a viable alternative. I went in for a synthetic oil change and fuel system treatment and even had an appointment, so they knew the service that was being requested. Very frustrating. Have to keep looking. My first experience with them was strong, but this has really got me questioning the organization and efficiency of this, for basic maintenance. In a waiting room full of people who were here even longer than me. I see multiple technicians just standing around in a circle talking to each other and finally told me they were now going to start the process, 15 minutes after the truck showed up... They're saying it would be another 10 or 15 minutes... been 30. I'm now 3 hours + for an oil change and fuel system treatment. Be warned. read more

Went to see them for what I thought was my power steering pump going bad. Told them I had a leak, but wasn't sure were it was at. They said they would investigate it, and just replaced the part Here's were it gets fun...On the way home, I kept get warnings indications from my truck. The charging system wasn't working, and engine hot. Pulled over, no coolant, so turned around picked some up. Kept getting charging system failures. Got home checked coolant and all fluids, and saw they left a funnel next to the engine. Then I tried to take off the power steering fluid cap, but couldn't. Called the store, let them know about the funnel, they were amused (guy laughs about it). Told them about the cap, they told me to bring it back and they will look what they can do. Driving back, charging system keeps coming up. Get there, they tried to say it the cap wasn't the original and must have been after market, which is why it was stuck. Considering I had no issues the day prior, and never replaced the part, I doubt it. They also said it was hard putting it back in, but never even bothered to do anything about it. When the guy went back in to look for some tools to get the cap off, I noticed they never reconnected my alternator...the cause of my charging system warning. They finally got it off, replaced the cap, and I was in my way. BTW, no more charging system errors after I connected the alternator cable. A couple days later, truck had another major leak...coolant everywhere. The problem was the water pump all along. The "troubleshooting" they did was nonexistent. If you don't mind coming home with extra tools near your engine, not having some really troubleshoot the problem, not having all your cables reconnected, telling you a previously nonexistent problem was always there, and not having the problem fixed after paying hundreds of dollars...then this place is for you read more

This is the second time I've been here looking for a filter, going through the book and after 10 or 15 minutes of looking I can't faint the part for my 2016 Chevy Colorado. The K&N book was so out dated it only went to 2013. You think I could get a little assistance, nope the guys behind the counter were to busy laughing and cutting up with each other to even notice I was in the store. I called an hour before closing and mentioned I had an emergency we needed our serpentine belt replaced, we are from California with 4 kids have already exhausted calling around to every repair shop in town out to 60 miles from where we were. I told them we wouldn't get to the shop until 15 min to the closing time. The response given was "no worries we will do our best to get you back on the road with your family" and sure enough they got us back on the road in no time. Awful! Do not go here for tires! We went in and pre paid for tires and installation. My dad came back to have them put on and there was a myriad of issues! 1. They apparently couldn't find the appointment I made even though I got an email confirmation. 2. They asked where the tires were...I guess assuming we had them? Then said they didn't have the tires we already paid for and that I was told were set aside for me...they finally found them 3. The guy installing the tires decided to go on lunch in the middle of the job so my car sat without anyone working on it while my dad sat in the waiting area...he finally asked about it and told them they needed to get somebody on the job immediately...he was told it was going to take an hour for the installation but it took over 2 4. He was pulling away and the low pressure indicator was on because they didn't even properly inflate tires or bother to check them! I paid $700 for tires and now I'm not even sure they're safe because of the lack of professionalism at this shop! Take your business elsewhere! read more

I won't be going back!!!! I've had a few issues with my Jetta and have taken it into Pep boys in Puyallup. Every single time Ritchie and Chad have gone above and beyond with their customer service!
