Go to Pep Boys on 4th instead, or try somewhere else. Engaging the Interbay Pep Boys was the worst decision I've made as a consumer to date. I just wanted tires put on (purchased through Amazon, no complaints). Selecting Pep Boys involved 11 total service visits and I'm now out the original $75 installation + $1,600 to the dealership service to fix things, along with about 8 work hours and one weekend revisiting the dealership so they could ship in replacement sensors. Brian and his crew at Interbay started out by losing one tire (which could be tracked and had been signed for individually). After I convinced Amazon to send a duplicate tire (3-hours), the 2nd appt, the instal left my tire monitors inoperative, so I had to go back a 3rd time to watched them try to learn about putting tires on my car. The manager said they didn't know what was wrong so I should try using the warranty at the dealership. My 4th stop ($500) was the dealership determining they broke a sensor during the install which they should replace. On the 5th visit, it turns out Brian ordered and installed 3rd party sensors which didn't work with the car. He then asked me to CALL another location to find out WHY. The manager on 4th said they need to use authentic sensors (hello) which he would tell the manager at Interbay, to make sure they would order. 2 weeks later they hadn't contacted me but Brian, said the MB sensors had arrived. On the 6th visit, I got to watch the employee pee/pants down in the parking lot at 8:30am. 3 hours after my 2-hr appointment, I called and they said couldn't make them work...again. He sent me to another location to try to get them activated (8th visit). I was getting new sensor service lights popping up every couple hours so I found myself back at the dealership (9th visit). Turns out Brian LIED to us both again and installed more 3rd party sensors. I had to have the sensors replaced and my computers calibrated, so they just serviced the car which was $1,100 (10th appt). I was asked to drop off the junk sensors to pep boys for visit #11. Credit to Jessie at the location on 4th. He had empathy, he tried to fix it and he said they're going to at least help me get paid back for the sensors from the dealership. read more

First, I made an appointment for a routine oil change a week in advance for Saturday at 10am. I arrived with my partner a few minutes early, and the front desk person said that there was no record of my name on the schedule or any appointment ever booked. I immediately replied that I had spoken directly with an employee on the phone and received a text confirmation for my appointment. They replied that I could drop off my car for the ENTIRE day and they MIGHT be able to get to it by the end of the day. When I spoke to the employee on the phone, I made it clear that I could not leave my car for the entire day, and they confirmed that this was okay. So, I rescheduled for Friday at 8am, today. They said if you come at 7:45am, we will be able to get the oil change done in 45 minutes. My partner ended up waiting nearly 2 hours. Not to mention, we were overcharged ($120 for an oil change???). Definitely not coming here again and would not recommend. read more

I got new tires and realized there was a rebate, it didn't automatically take it off when I checked out but my man John at the store did it manually. They said it would be done by the end of the day and was done in under 2 hours. I picked up the car, talked hockey with John for a few minutes, and drove off with my new tires. This place is so so great! Everyone that works here is super friendly, efficient, knowledgable, and always go above and beyond to help. I was a little stressed out today because one of my windshield wipers had popped off of my car at the brown bear car wash and I was struggling to put it back on. I finally decided to take it to Pep Boys to have a professional look at it. I called for an appointment and was squeezed in right away. Jonathon took excellent care of me and was so friendly. He replaced my broken windshield wipers within only a few minutes and now my car is as good as new. I feel so relieved! Such a great experience with Jonathon, he's the best! I brought my 2017 Tacoma in to get a tire repaired after getting a flat on a trail over the weekend. Rather than immediately tell me I needed to get a new tire when they ran into some indication that it wouldn't be repairable, they looked closer and determined it could be fixed. The repair took longer than expected and even though I didn't complain they took action to recover my experience. I'm really impressed and glad to see the shift from the Elliot tire company to Pep Boys didn't result in a lower quality experience. I took my car in to have a new tire put on. I was quoted a price and was fine to pay it and get the new tire. One of the technicians here told me my old tire just needed a patch, so I trusted him and had them patch it for $32. I drove my car home and the tire was flat again within a day. I called them back to get a refund and arrange for a new tire to be put on my car and was told that no refunds can be done on a weekend, that I'd have to take time off of work to come in on a week day. I came in on that next Monday and was told they would repair it or give me a new tire minus the cost of the initial repair. I sat for over an hour and was ignored while new customers came in and were given service. I asked about how long it would take and was put off. I finally decided to just get a refund and that took an additional half an hour. The tech couldn't even figure out how to give me a refund, I had to leave with them still owing me the cost of the initial repair. STEER CLEAR of this place! This place is unprofessional and unapologetic when they make mistakes and do not prioritize fixing their errors over taking in new customers. Don't trust them. read more

After a few failed attempts to fix my car's low idle, audible chugging sounds and heavy vibration on our own, I took my car in for an engine diagnostic. The interactive complimentary vehicle inspection report is a huge plus. Before they called to tell me what repairs were needed, I was able to see what was discovered using the link in the text report. This gave me time to shop around without wasting money on a second opinion and it allowed me to establish a baseline price in my mind based on my Google findings. When the Pep Boys team called me and verbally conveyed the findings along with an estimate, I won't lie, I was shocked. However, the interactive visibility had prepared me for that expense and essentially led us to proceed with the repairs. In the current economic situation, I really appreciated the cost and value of the services. I truly believe that the team went above and beyond to accommodate us; small actions leave a significant impression. I feel so lucky to have come to this location. It was the only auto shop open on a Saturday and I needed to get the leak in my car fixed so that I don't risk passing out from the fumes coming into the cabin of my car. The staff was friendly, helpful, forthright, and human. Past experiences made me think that they were going to condescend to me but instead I felt respected and truly helped. They did everything in their power to save me money and to do things right so I don't have to come see them again. I will be coming to them for any future maintenance or repairs. read more

We had a Friday evening tire blowout on I-90 (yikes!). We researched the best reviewed tire shops with safe parking for our AAA towed car & came up with Pep Boys on Elliott/West Queen Anne. GREAT MOVE!! John & the crew at Pep Boys Elliot treated us with the ultimate in .KINDNESS, HONESTY & PROFESSIONALISM . They were absolutely fantastic. We left the car at 11pm with a note & keys in the dropbox. By 8am Sat, Amazing John had researched & located the tire we needed & reached out with a video of the $estimate & a plan. Wow. I made an appointment on-line a week in advance. When I arrived at my scheduled time I was told they don't do appts at that time and that there hadn't been a contact number to call. The staff continued to make it seem like it was all my, the customers fault. I understand if the website needs updating but a) then that should be done and b)a customer shouldn't be chastised for their error. I will NOT be returning. read more

I honestly can't say enough good things. Liz was so helpful -- she explained what I needed and why, why it was gonna be on the pricey side, what benefits there were to paying to have things done right, and what I should expect. She called me a Lyft to and from work while my car was being worked on and was never condescending in the slightest (which I find a lot of car places can be when your MO is just "it's broken and I don't know why but can we fix it"). They also guarantee the tire they installed for free patching etc. moving forward and said that my three other tires can be added to that plan for around $75. I can't recommend them highly enough. I am new to the Seattle area and just called to get a quote for an oil change. They were able to get me an appointment that same day. After about 45 minutes, they told me that they had to order another cap because it was put back incorrectly by the last service. The replacement cap took almost another entire hour to get there. Therefore, I ended up staying there for two hours (1 hour over the time they allot for an oil change) they gave me the oil change for FREE to compensate for the amount of time it took even though it was no fault of their own. They handled it so well and kept me updated the entire time. I really appreciated the compensation and was not expecting that kind of service. I definitely recommend them. read more
