Big D Towing - Robert working his magic to get it out of the garage and making a final check before taking it to BMW Seattle. Great effort: AAAA+++++

My 2023 BMW iX M60 suddenly had a "drivetrain" fault episode. The car -- more computer, the vehicle…read more-- advised me to park in a safe location. So I got it back to my apartment and my underground parking stall two levels down. When I turned it off, a big red STOP sign flashed in the dashboard, saying it couldn't be restarted or driven. I called BMW Roadside Assistance. Over two days, they sent out four trucks. The drivers either didn't communicate or couldn't do the job. Then I called Big D Towing. Within minutes, they dispatched Robert Gartland, a wonderful driver. He brought the right truck, the right skills, and, perhaps most importantly, the right attitude. "We'll get it out of here. I promise you!" He was a person of his word. We had to be extra careful because of the low ceiling in the apartment garage, but Robert figured it out. In no time, we rolled it out of the stall, got it hooked up to the truck, and Robert very carefully towed it out of the garage with no problem. He was great!!! And the price was about half what I thought it would be. You have a tight towing situation? Call Big D Towing and ask for Robert Gartland. Tell 'em the Guy with the BMW recommended him.

I'll admit I was frustrated when I called, but the person on the phone was extremely dismissive and rude. They told me that the towing sign in the parking lot "is only there because of the law" and that they can't actually do anything--it's just there for people to call. So what's the point of even having the sign or their number listed if they won't help when someone takes your space? Absolutely useless and unprofessional. The management was closed, so where would I park? Horrible customer service and very unhelpful. If this is how they operate, I have no idea what they actually get paid to do. It's a Friday night so there are guaranteed to be many people parking in spots they shouldn't supposed to. Such a great opportunity to tow and make profit, but I guess they have better things to do...

I hope this is the correct towing company that came to get us a couple of weeks ago. We broke down…read morein the IHOP parking lot in Tukwila/Southcenter. Luckily it was still daylight and we were able to comfortable hang out until the tow truck arrived (they made good time). The tow truck driver was incredibly helpful; before towing our car, he explored more than one reason the car might not be starting (trying to avoid a tow); he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He in fact correctly identified the problem within a couple of minutes (as we found out the next day from the mechanic). Once it was for sure that we could not get the car going, he obliged to tow the car to our chosen mechanic and once there, he even helped us park the car and fill out the overnight paperwork. Amazing service. The best I've ever had from a towing company. Highly recommend.

He said he had quite a bit of traffic in Seattle to wade through, as it took him over an hour to arrive. However, once he arrived, he figured out a solution to my problem. He efficiently changed my front tire to the back and vice versa so he could tow it to the tire store. He worked quickly and was very polite. (I had no spare tire, so it was a bit challenging.) I would call again if need be, but I hope I never have to do it again. Cost: $358.80, which I thought was a fair price.
