Worse service I got from a store. Paola Salmeron Ass service Manager, next day from Frankie. So I canceled my order and walk out.

80$ for oil change with a prolonged service, waited inside for 10 minutes after car was ready for simple attention. Wont be returning doe.

Took an unusually long time to change my oil, did not advise me it was busy, and did not update me. Inside they seem a bit unorganized, overwhelmed, and distracted. I went here early in the morning, about 9:30am. It did not seem unusually busy, and an employee loaded my car into an empty bay right away. The waiting area was very nice. It was clean, had free k-cup coffee, big screen with cable, device charging bays, and free wifi. An hour passed by while I sat in their (very nice) waiting area. I went to the front desk to get an idea on how long it would be. The manager was very courteous to me verbally... he looked out the window to the shop floor bays and said "I will get you in 5 minutes". He then opens up the door to the shop floor and starts yelling out questions and instructions. I went and sat back down in the waiting area. Around 15 or 20 minutes later, the manager called my name... the car was ready! He had a printout of services to try to upsel me on (belt replacements, etc) which I indulged him in: I asked him for some the prices and he told me. He then asked if I wanted to go ahead and do that right now, and I told him no, but thanks for giving me the prices. Suddenly, after another employee yelled over at him, the manager told me he didn't have time to check me out... he got distracted and started talking back to the employee, and picked up the phone. I was told to move to another register (all my paperwork was already sprawled onto the one I was at). Then the manager and employee had a confused yelling back and forth to each other about how to make my account appear on the new register. Once that was resolved, the cashier started talking to me but suddenly interrupted me... he said "Hold on a second, please". He took a phone call! The way he took the phone call was not quick..., he had some extremely long thing he said like "thank you for calling pep boys where we are offering a [something something something] kind of deal for the [something something something] and we do [something something something] for only [something something something]. Oh hi is this [some person's name]? ok hold on".... Then the cashier yelled across the room again and stepped away from my register and talked to manager for a second, then came back. It was only after all this that I was finally able to pay my bill and drive away. To summarize my checkout experience: the manager and cashier were both very courteous with the choices of phrases and sentences they used, but pretty darn rude in HOW they actually interacted with me. An end summary? I waited way too long for something that should have been quick without being informed they were unusually busy; the manager and employees don't seem to be aware that their distracted behavior was needlessly prolonging the checkout process. read more

Beto and the Boys are the best!! They just helped me out and I'm grateful. They took me immediately, explained and showed me the issue, and because my tires were purchased at another Pep Boys, gave me partial credit on the new tires. They've helped other friends and family and I would highly recommend them. read more

They gave me a diagnosis of what's wrong. And they seem to have pretty good customer service!.if you don't know much about cars they will try to get the most cash out of you.other than that it's fine. read more

This place is horrible. Don't step foot into here. The guy working at the front desk is horrible. Worst customer service. First, they said I didn't have an appointment when I did, then he lied to me about 3 times about the price. First it you can't get a free check up on your AC. Then it was you can only get it if you have make the repairs after. Finally after showing him the deal online, he says you have the print the coupon. The man basically didn't want to do it and gave me attitude the whole time. I don't trust people who don't want to serve me with my car, even if they have to. read more

I've been coming to this Pep Boys for years with all sorts of car problems from a leaky nail in the tire to engine problems. They are always helpful and get the job done on time. Never had a problem with them. read more

From what I gather with the other reviews here it seems experiences vary drastically. I went in after noticing a loud low humming coming from my front tires and after a bit of research, wrench time, and process of elimination it was clear I needed new bearings. How many? I didn't know. How to do it? No clue. So I decided to go to Pep Boys in Tujunga CA. I told them what I needed done and was ready to get in and get out. I guess they decided differently because they went ahead and did an inspection and came back with the conclusion that the humming was due to "cupping" (understandable as cupping can result due to bad bearings) and recommended tire replacement as the solution. A bit confused I asked which tires? And if i would have to replace all four? At this moment things went downhill because as his eyes twinkled and the dollar signs popped in he said "yes all four will need to be replaced" which at that point I said thanks asked for my keys and promptly left. I would assume the idea was to start by replacing tires then the rotors then the breaks and maybe even my suspension and then finally the bearings because the humming would have been there still. I know it would have been there because I went to another mechanic I use on occasion and had him check my wheel bearings and replace whatever bearings were old/not functioning. He found two on the front left and one on the right and replaced them all. No humming whatsoever and it drives smooth as silk. Pretty sure they can do honest work because it seems like they have happy customers but maybe if they feel like they can they will try to take advantage of you. Beware. read more

place is a joke. I ordered trailer tires to be picked up there and first problem was online status of the order never said it was shipped or not. this was with the main online service, not this particular location. So I kept up with it for a few days then suddenly my order # somehow was not in the system. i called the CSR dept they told me they had to order the tires, avg delivery time was 5 or 6 days. okay, not a problem. another few days go by and i call the location again, never having gotten an email saying they had even shipped yet. The store on foothill says, oh , yeah. they're here, come get them. I asked when did they get them, person told me earlier that day, that someone had called me to let me know. i let them know that noone had called me, but I would be right up to get them. When i got there the girl working the front didn't greet me, and seemed too busy to care a customer was there. finally i got her attention in the empty showroom, and she slowly proceeded to assist me. i asked her when they got them and she told me they had been there for a few days. So the guy on the phone lied to me about how long they had been there, lame... She couldn't get the credit card machine to work, took forever, then coworker came and she passed me off to him. He took me to another register and did a complete new order, billing, etc. this took forever. Then he left to go to lunch, and the girl went back to doing nothing. So i carried the tires myself outside to the back garage, and brought my old tires over to have the new ones put on. The garage staff was barely competent, giggling and blowing each other with the air hoses like they were in 3rd grade. this again took forever. i asked if they were going to balance the rims, and they were " did you pay to have them balanced?" i said I didn't know i thought it was standard when you get new tires put on at a tire place. So they just rolled them back to my car without balancing and went back to playing with the air hoses, giggling and playing around. At this point i was just so over this place I left. Never going back, and will n3ever go to ANY Pep Boys ever again the rest of my life. read more

Earlier this month, I barely made it home with a flat tire. The guys at Pep Boys assured me that if I made it by 7:00 p.m., they would service my vehicle. I got there at 6:59 p.m., and they honored their promise. That's good service. read more

Can't say enough about the employees especially Carlos M. I needed brakes badly but I didn't have reservations & they were busy. I persuaded them for their services & they were kind enough to oblige. It ran them slightly over closing & they still assisted me with a smile & kindness. Wow, what great customer service you don't find that every day. read more

You get what you pay for. I took my vehicle to these guys for a "Summer Service Special" because the price was so attractive. I thought the service included an oil change, but I misread the ad and it did not. Although all fluids are supposed to be checked for the Summer Service Special, no one informed me about the dire need for a change. Did they even check the oil (running near 10,000 miles)? Highly dubious. Basically changed the wiper blades and threw in some fuel cleaner and probably did a cursory once over. I initially thought they did a good job, so I scheduled my wife's vehicle for an oil change. Online system allowed a 6pm appointment. I scheduled it for that time. Get an email and online confirmation. My wife arrives and they tell her they close at 6 pm. They also made it seem like it was her fault for not calling the store to confirm. Are you stupid? It's 2016. What were the two digital confirmations for? So someone needs to call and verify? Business must be booming because they were completely unapologetic. She refuses to deal with morons so she left. I realize my need for an oil change, so I figured I'd give them another chance. Call it computer error. I schedule an oil change and needed to push it up an hour. I call before the original appointment time and the guy on the phone says it isn't a problem, just bring it in. I asked if he need my name and he said no, it's in the system. I get there and they can't service it for another 45 minutes. I told him what the guy on the phone said and his only response was "What was his name?" Yup, you must be stupid. Why the f#&k would I take his name for? You should train your guys not to just spew crap out of their mouths for convenience. They say come back first thing in the morning. I leave, ready to explore alternative businesses. That night, it rains and I use the wipers for 10 minutes and something doesn't sound right. Stupids didnt install the wiper blade on correctly. I settled on Jiffy Lube, which did a fabulous job (quicker than the time it took to write this review). They will NEVER receive my business again. If I can't trust you with a wiper blade, why would I let you touch my brakes, tires, or even oil? read more

Total rip-off! I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a woman or not, but Pep Boys gave me an estimate that was almost TWICE what I paid for with a mechanic less than a mile away. Even the guys I work with said it seemed really high. I know it's a business, but I don't appreciate being taken advantage of. J and G automotive services is the way to go. Love this place! Had a flat tire at 745 am and had an important meeting I had to be to at 8am. Pulled into the parking lot of this Pep Boys by chance and met an employee on his way to open the store. He showed me where to fill out the after hours drop box form so I did. Took Uber to my appointment then back to Pep Boys where my tire had already been repaired. Earlier this month, I was in a bind and had to have a tire repaired very quickly. I called a couple of places, but they just wanted me to purchase a new tire (this tire was only purchased a few months ago from a tire center that couldn't find any record of my complete replacement of Hankook tires that cost several hundred dollars!). I went to Pep Boys, where my son had purchased a new set of tires and was very satisfied. Martin and Carlos came to my aid, took care of the tire issue (turned out to be a very small nail - no new tire needed at all!) in record time and I made my appointment. This is now my 'Go To' repair shop. They really know how to treat their customers! Added plus: free wifi & coffee, clean & comfy waiting room! Thank you. read more

I originally bought my tires when this Pep Boy's was Discount Tires, so I heard they still honor the old Discount warranties. I got a flat a couple days ago. I brought it in to Beto who had it fixed for free and I was out of there in 15 minutes. Nice & easy--the way it should be in an ideal world. read more

Terrible customer service, dropped off my car on my birthday they said they would change my rims to the new ones I had gotten in 1 hour. I arrived back at the place 1 hour and 30 minutes after, and they had not even started yet. Really pissed me off. read more

i will never bring my vehicle in this facility, they misdiagnose the problem, replace wrong part and recommended unnecessary service. be careful with this place as techs / advisors and service mgr are only after selling repairs and services not needed. read more

what can you say? I wish I could be writing a better review, but sadly I did not have high expectations with them after a bad, rude phone call experience I had with them once before. I needed trailer tires and ordered them online because I could just go pick them up close to my house. I ordered the tires, and the online order said I might be able to pick them up the next day, that I would get tracking info in an email, and a phone call when they were ready to be picked up. Well, 2 days later I still hadn't gotten either, no email or phone call. I went online to see if it had shipped, the online order confirmation just said they had received my order, not if it shipped. Okay, so I wait a few more days and check again. nothing.same info. So I call the CSR #, and she said that these orders usually take 3-5 business days, etc etc. Okay, it's 7 days now, can you tell me if they shipped at least? no, they can't, I just need to be patient. So I waited one more day then call the store directly.Talked to a guy said the tires had been there for nearly a week ( !?!) Really? So i'll come right over to pick them up. Got there, the woman in the front looked unenthused to have a customer, did not greet me or really talk to me. I gave her my order # , told her I was there to pick up my tires, etc. She couldn't find my info in the computer , and looked annoyed. I asked her when the tires got here and she lied to my face saying they just came in that day. I said, "ok"...then after about 10 minutes she went to get someone else, still not engaging me, the paying customer, and basically dumped me off on someone else. She then walked away without saying a word to me. Very BAD customer service! New person putzed around on the computer too, until finally getting my payment. I went out back to watch the "pro's" put the tires on my wheels. hahah, what a joke, these guys were acting like 3rd graders, blowing the air hose at each other, calling each other names in spanish, grabbing tools from each other like kindergardners. So i get the tires back to my house, put them on the trailer and check the PSI. One tire at 35 psi, the other at 40 psi. The recommended max on this tire is 50psi. So after talking to Kevin H at Just Tires on Foothill in La Crescenta, he told me the ideal psi should be 42.5psi. Well then , epic fail Pep Boys! Bad service, bad job, bad experience.
