On 6/24/26, to prepare to travel, I had my tires rotated and an alignment. Upon picking up my vehicle, I called them to report it was making a loud unusual noise. They told me to bring it back in the next day as they were unable to look at it. In the morning while enroute there, the front drivers side wheel completely detached from the vehicle and fell off. I was able to maintain control however my vehicle sustained damage. There was not any lug nuts on the vehicle or ground. I contacted the service manager who stated he would contact towing and call me back right away, however did not. I called myself and had my vehicle returned to Pep Boys. The service manager has refused to return my calls and has only sent a message saying that lug nuts have been ordered and there is no damage to my vehicle, when there is obvious damage to my vehicle. No one from the Field Team has contacted me to discuss the incident or damage to my vehicle. This negligent tire service could have caused a major accident and is a significant safety concern. read more

I am walking out around 11:37...so yes,I waited about an hour but I feel confident that it was due to a thorough job. Just had a horrid experience with this location. A location manager named Kyle was in charge of contacting me for my inspection. He contacted me stating that all of my brakes and rotors would require replacement or I would fail inspection. As a mechanic myself, I know that with parts and labor, it would usually take $400 - $ 500 max. He quoted me $800, which is immediately outrageous, then, after discussion, that I had JUST put back brakes on 4 months ago, he backed down to only brakes being enough to not fail me for $500 which is still outrageous for brakes. The oddest thing is considering he JUST said that without rotors I'd fail he backed off fairly quickly. In hindsight that was the first red flag. He told be it would be done by 12, when 2pm came and went with no call. So I called them. They said they texted me and I politely stated I never got it. Kyle could be heard in the background stating that I probably don't know how to check my messages. Lovely, that the business employs those who are willing to insult customers within hearing distance. When I got there to pick it up the mechanic that worked on it told me that Kyle told him that I was the one who recommended the brakes. HUH... In SHORT, I was scammed, insulted, and overall had one of the worst experiences of my entire life here. read more

Took my car in for an oil change and inspection. I had a 11am appointment, I was there until 1:30. They never changed the sticker. Today I tried to get a sticker for mileage, they did not write down my mileage when I brought my car in the first time. Was told "oh...crap!" on the phone, and then asked if I knew what my mileage had been when I brought my car in several weeks ago. It was easy to schedule an appointment for an inspection with a coupon that included tire rotation. I had no idea that the bill was going to be that expensive. I was also informed that I needed front and back brakes, and it was going to cost $800.00. Fast forward 2 months later, I went to a repair shop to have my tire checked out. This location has been getting worse and worse. Their online scheduling doesn't work, it's impossible to get anyone on the phone, if you make an appointment you still have to wait a long time for your car, and I have never once received a text or a call to let me know the work was done. I will now never go back because they did a quite expensive repair on my car, and after I picked the car up, there was an additional problem that I didn't have when I dropped the car off. It took a few days of fighting with the manager and the mechanic to prove that it wasn't an unrelated problem, and they had in fact done the repair incorrectly. After they finally took a look at their work, they found that it was their error causing the problem. They never acknowledged this or apologized for their condescending attitude to me during this whole interaction. Incredibly slow due to understaffing and unreliable with online scheduling. The final straw for me was this: a tech caused a problem in the course of a repair, tried to gaslight me that the problem didn't exist, accused me of lying about the problem, then finally agreed to re-examine the work. After re-examining, they discovered their error, fixed it, and gave me back my car without a word of apology. That's after multiple days of me showing up, describing the problem in detail, etc. Basically you will have to fight with them and invest a lot of energy to get them to stand by their work. read more

In this instance buying tires 3 days ago and promised to get the tires put on today, then laughs and says we can't do that. Another FAILURE in the service industry. You set up online options and accept appointments and send CONFIRMATIONS. But you FAIL to link to the actual locations. So I adjust my day accordingly only to get a last minute cancellation because that store is understaffed and over booked. I was hesitant to use Pep Boys in fear of being overcharged for basic services but I needed to get things done. It seems that my instincts were correct, just for other reasons. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Apparently, this location is under new management, and they will not honor the warranty on break work that they do. My son had his front breaks done by pep boys, and we currently found out that the rotors are warped and some hardware is missing. He tried taking his car back in to get the issues fixed under warranty since it has been under 2 years, and they refused to help him. They even went as far as to say that my son took the hardware off himself, and there was no way to prove it because it was their word against his. also, their a brake package does not include calibers. They are not transparent about what we are paying for.They also tried telling him all his breaks need to be replaced. We did not believe that because his back breaks were just done about 10 months ago. Due diligence was done, and we had the car checked out by another shop. Back breaks are fine!! They are also telling him his calipers are bad, but in order to check, they want to charge him to look. What if they are fine? He has to pay someone to tell him that?!?! I personally have gone there for years for oil changes and inspections. I will never return. My money will go to honest mechanics and shops. I will be contacting the BBB and filing a compliant. There is a warranty for a reason. The manager even made a comment about how he needed to make money, so that's why they charge more. I will be informing everyone I know about this as well. Word of mouth goes a long way. They should be ashamed of themselves!! read more

Alright... well they are really good at inconveniencing people. I scheduled a simple oil change several days in advance, when I set aside a few hours to get something done at a certain time I always leave some room to flex. When I arrive I was told it would be a 2-3 hour wait past my appointment time. It's just unacceptable‍. I can't rate as no stars or I would. This business used to be good but some things have clearly changed. I spent $1300 to get my brakes redone on my toyota minivan. After two months of feeling like they just didn't feel right, I brought my van back-after sitting for 6 hours they told me it was the rear rotors and they would redo for free. they could not finish that day though so I had to come back the following tuesday. I came back and they supposedly fixed my brakes. For the next few weeks I was sick and then we had huge storm so I drove very little, but when I did I noticed shaking in my brakes and squeaking when I backed up. I was so frustrated with how things had gone (and the fact that when I picked up my car it smelled horribly of smoke-someone apparently thought it was ok to either smoke and then get in my car or smoke in my car. I am allergic to smoke so had to drive around for 1/2 hour to get the smell out with the windows down then clean it) that I chose to take it to a family member's mechanic to see if it was me or if there was still something wrong. He test drove it and agreed brakes were off. He redid the rear brakes and rotors-he said that when they put new brakes on they did not clean ANY rust or corrosion off and no wonder they shook-no way to accurately work with the way they did put them on. He wrote up a detailed note about it and gave me all the parts to take back. Needless to say I am furious. What a rip off! I have bought tires here, get my work done here and this year spent of $4000 there and this is how I am treated. Furthermore, I contacted to corporate office via phone 3 times. NEVER called me back. I was told three times that someone would "get back to me". Never happened. If you are getting any important work done here I highly suggest you go elsewhere. I think the current staff are unprofessional and the mechanics are either untrained or don't care. I could have had a horrible accident has I not gone and had them redone. And had to pay another $967.00. And pep boys response? NOTHING. I did not contact the shop as I do not trust them and have no interest in communicating with people who act this way and handle business this way. Now I see it is a corporate approach despite their web site which claims intergrity and caring about accountability, LOL that is a JOKE!!!!! absolute joke of a business, had a brake service done about 1 an 3/4 years ago with a 2 year warranty on the parts not the labor(warranty was not free, about $100), they are trying to tell me the reason my brakes are bad is because the calipers slide pins don't have any lubricant and that isn't included in the brake service, I was never offered a caliper maintenance(which is usually included in a brake service) nor was told that that can potentially damage my brakes and void the warranty. when I went to inquire about the warranty they added on like 10 things that made my quote come out to $3300 and told me it was a life or death situation. after I went for a second opinion from someone who lives on my street and I trust because they work at a car shop and just looked at it out of the kindness of their heart and also wasn't getting paid, said that it wasn't life of death and that they also didn't put some of the hardware back on my calipers when I originally had them done by pep boys, which is concerning because how many other corners did they cut on other peoples vehicles, they seem to not actually due diligence on the parts nor offer any service for insignificant parts that they deem a waste of time, they cut corners and just slap new ones on from Napa. their loss though they could have made $3300 from 1 sale if they weren't such being jerks about it, he even went as far to tell me "you have to work with me I have to make money too" and "prove that we didn't put the brake hardware back on and that I didn't take it off myself" it's pathetic, I heard you don't make the commission on a warranty, that explains why they gave me such a hard time read more

I would never recommend this business to work on an asset of yours worth thousands of dollars. Poorly trained employees with terrible customer service. After an employee diagnosed the problem, I had to make an appointment for the following week. I brought it in a few minutes ahead of my scheduled appointment and waited the quoted 60 min wait time. I decided to return to the store to ask for an update, as I was not called yet to inform me my vehicle was ready. (I was just killing time walking through Home Depot.). After returning, I noticed my car did not leave the spot I parked it in. Was it "ready" or had it not been worked on yet? Neither! They said they couldn't even perform the job. What was the point of them diagnosing the problem in person, making me wait a week to schedule an appointment, and then make me wait for an hour (and not calling me to pick up my vehicle sooner)?! To add insult to injury, he told me my TPMS wasn't working whatsoever. That sounded odd, as it worked previously to parking in their lot. After I started my vehicle to leave, it worked just fine. Did they even step foot into my vehicle? Obviously not. Does every employee have any idea what they're doing? Definitely not. Would I recommend anyone to bring their vehicle here? Awesome. I went there thinking I needed to get my AC serviced. That would have been $200 just to see if it had to be done. I would happily have paid that but they strongly encouraged me to just change my air filter and the AC improved immediately. At a quarter of the cost to me. I am thrilled that they were so helpful and friendly. I have been here numerous time for oil changes and tire rotations. They always fit me in, get my car done asap and are friendly and do great work. As a single woman, this is extra important as I don't know anything about cars and never feel taken advantage of.
