Ran over a screw a couple of days ago and as a result, my tire had a slow leak . Didn't want it to get worse , so I called this auto service place on the recommendation of a friend . They got me in right away and repaired it in 10 minutes . $25 well spent and now I will keep them in mind for other repairs . read more

My car's dash suddenly lit up like a Christmas tree. Luckily I was due for an inspection so I could take care of everything at once. I called Randy's Car Care and discovered they sold their shop. Inside scoop - Randy will work at Don & Jim's for a year before retiring. I was nervous this new auto shop was going to take full advantage of all the issues with my car. That did not happen at all. They were honest and very affordable with my repairs. My car was fixed on time and was without it for only a couple hours. My 11 year old car has been running like new since I brought it in. My daughter needed her oil change and was having an issue with a noise from underneath her vehicle. She's very leary of mechanics because of some stories that have been told. I set up her appointment for the following day, and we were early. They took care of the oil change, and it was a great price. I asked if they could look at possibly her heat shield that might have been the weird noise she had been hearing. After a quick visual inspection, the problem was identified. I asked if they could fix it that day, without hesitation the mechanic said they could. Later that afternoon, he called us and said it was fixed. Not to get into the pricing, but it was definitely not what we thought it would be, but way lower. I never got mechanics' name, but we went last Thursday, April 4th. My daughter was delighted, to say the least, and Don and Jim's auto delivered. My daughter has a new shop to go to if need be. Thanks, Don and Jim's. They're definitely on the pricier side when it comes to repairs, but they're crazy fast. Dropped my car off after work one night and they called me by 8:30 the next morning to tell me what was wrong with it and the cost to repair it. Once I told them to go ahead, they called me around 11:30-noon to tell me that it was done and ready to be picked up. EDIT: Brought my car in to have them check out the front end because there was a loud clunking whenever I turned and the tires, which were only 4 months old, were so worn out that they were bald. Turns out that there was a lot wrong with my car so I spent about $700 in repairs (it's an old car so I wasn't expecting this to be easy on my wallet). Then they tell me that my rear brakes disintegrated when they took the wheels off so they replaced them. They were newer brakes and also why were they working on the rear of the car when the problem was in the front??? So I paid extra for that and that definitely smells like a scam. Go home and it's still making the clunking. $800+ later and they didn't even actually fix the problem. Wouldn't recommend them. read more

Have been going here for the last 6 months, and just had an appt today. 35 minutes in and out for an oil change, rotation and inspection! Prices are on par for oil changes with other places. Always nice and helpful when explaining things needed... considering I'm pretty car illiterate! Don't try to sell you things you don't really need. read more

I have always had a good experience at Don & Jim's. They just completed a lengthy repair to my power steering for free because it was covered under warranty. I have been to other places where I would be told that the repair was not covered due to normal wear. My mother and father always went to Don & Jim's and were always pleased by their competence and friendliness. read more

Last year they replaced my alternator. The alternator being broken didn't make sense based off of the problems I was having, but I'm not a mechanic so what do I know? They wanted $300 to do it, but since I know somebody who can get parts cheap, they agreed to let me bring in a new alternator and just install it for me for $95. After they installed it, we took the core from the old one and tested it. It was perfectly fine. They tried scamming me out of $300 and got away with $95. Stay away from them!! read more

I have taken my car to Don & Jim's for over 20 years. Don and Pat are now the owners. They are knowledgeable and fair. Let's face it - nobody likes to pay for car repairs. But you will always get a phone call with the issues and estimate prior to work being done - and if options are available (better grade of repair parts, what can wait, etc.) they will discuss those with you. I drove some pretty rough junkers in my younger years and they always kept them running. Now I see them less as I drive newer cars but everyone in the family continues to go to them. I would trust them with any of our vehicles. read more

If I could give zero stars, then I would! This is the ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE I have ever received anywhere in my entire life!!! Taking initiative, something this company clearly lacks, I called ahead and asked if I could drop off my car and have it looked at the day after. The person on the phone agreed and said that they could take a look at it in the morning. I dropped of my car along with an extremely detailed note of what to look at and what to ignore. The morning came, I called around noon, and they still had not looked at it yet. When I called again at 4:30 (note that it closes at 5 PM), they still had not looked at it. I was put on a 10 minute hold, and then the call disconnected. Immediately, I called right back, was put on another 5 minute hold, and then the owner Don told me what was wrong with my car. COMPLETELY DISREGARDING MY WISHES from the note, he said that there was a laundry list of things wrong with my car. To boot, he refused to call the parts vendors until the following morning; therefore, I was needlessly without my car for an entire day. Don did not call me back until 10 AM the next morning, saying that it would cost a grand amount of money to get things on my car fixed which I did not even ask for. When I said, "No thank you", he got vocally upset and immediately demanded I give him my credit card number so as to pay for the diagnostics. When I asked how much, he said $75...but he neglected to mention that that amount was before taxes. Sneaky and dishonest. Essentially I paid $82 to have my car sit in a lot in West Seneca for two days!!!Once I picked up my car from the shop, the a few cords were disconnected on the bottom of my car, causing it to rattle around and make tons of noise. What a lack of professionalism, organization, communication, and courtesy!!!! I have never been more dissatisfied in my entire life!! read more
