Yes, they are more expensive than other places. But you can drive up without an appointment, get your oil changed without having to get out of your car, and drive off in just a few minutes. That's why you're paying extra. Also, they only do a few things. An oil change, an air filter, wiper blades....They don't overhaul engines, they don't do AC repair, they don't sell tires. So when you go there to get an inspection, if something is going to fail, you know it's because it failed and not because they are trying to get more money out of you. (Not that all places do that, but you have piece of mind that it's not being done here.) read more

Update as of 1/31/26. I have been to this location multiple times since i last wrote my glowing review. Since then every-time i go I'm stuck waiting for an inspection or told the inspector went home so no inspections the rest of the day. Isn't the whole point of valvoline to be able to pull in get your vehicle serviced and be out in a timely manner? Maybe i was just lucky the first few times i went and was able to catch the right time to get an inspection and oil change. I could have just made and appointment somewhere else if i wanted to wait an hour for stuff to get done. read more

No one WANTS to go get their oil changed. "Hey, Jen! What do you want to do Saturday? Want to grab breakfast or go for a hike?" "Nah. I'm looking for something a little more low-key than that." "Okay. How about we just grab a coffee and sit at the river." "Hmmm...something more responsible." "Ha! What do you wanna do? Get your oil changed or something?" That's like a hokey low-budget radio ad. I'm not going to say I *enjoy* getting my oil changed, but since a friend of mine talked me into trying out Valvoline, I don't dislike it anymore. The staff is friendly. They never make me feel stupid. They usually ask, "Same as last time?" because they have a record of the maintenance I've done. I don't feel like they are pushing me into add-ons. Yes, they tell me what is recommended for my vehicle. They offer me a print-out, but there is no high-pressure sales job. The only thing I don't enjoy about this whole thing is that you have to drive up on the ramp just like at a car wash. I hate those. I'm certain I was traumatized by them as a kid and I've blocked it out, leaving only the fear of driving onto them. The last time I was in, I had an inspection and an oil change. I loved that I got to stay in my car the whole time. My car's got this computer that tells me when it's time to get my oil changed, and they are also really good about helping me reset that before I drive away. Oh, and they usually remind me to download a coupon on my phone to save me a little extra money. Who doesn't love that? I don't live in a hokey radio commercial, but I don't dread this "chore" anymore either. read more

Friendly, but run very strangely. Somone meets you at the door (in the freezing cold), leaves you standing out there, then has you pull your car into a bay. No discussion, no pricing listed, etc. I didnt get pricing until my car was already inside, and they only offer $59 and $79 options. I seriously should have just taken my car to the dealership for these prices. 20 minutes of trying to reset the car so it didn't show "maintenance required." I was assured it was taken care of, drove away and it popped up again. read more

Stopped here today for an oil change, it was a little pricey but the wait wasn't bad not like delta sonic where It was over a hour ..... but I'm not sure what happened I had NO sensor lights On in my car at all. It's a malfunction light on , we took it back once , all the wit did was turn the car on y off it went out .. as soon as we left out of there parking lot it came back on. NOT HAPPY ‼‼‼‼‼ read more

I am a loyal customer of Valvoline! If I am out of town, I STILL go to Valvoline (and BTW, no matter where you go, they pull you up in their system and know the type of oil you use and everything. It's awesome). This location is my favorite! Everyone is so courteous and friendly. I've never had a bad experience. They are very courteous. I've never had to wait either. I always pull right in. Today I was advised I needed a new hi-beam headlight. When they went to replace it, they realized I have special lights that they don't carry. The manager, Jason, was kind enough to take the light out for me so I could bring it somewhere to order the light. Yes, you have to pay a little more, but you can google coupons to bring the price down a little. My rule of thumb is I'd rather pay a little more for guaranteed quality work than take a gamble to save a few bucks. Valvoline for life! read more

It's Sunday. A day for the husbands of America to take care of car repairs. My husband was up bright and early to take on changing out the light bulb on my car. He has done this repair many times before but today was not his day for minor car repairs. The cover to the light bulb was frozen and once he had thawed it out the darn cover slipped from his hands into the bowels of my car engine. After much searching for the cover I informed my husband he needed help. He called Valvoline and my happy ending was approaching. While not on their list of services the technicians took my car in quickly, searched for the cover buried in my car engine area, located it and had fished out the cover in no time. They topped off my car fluids and did not charge my husband. My husband was in my good graces again and Valvoline on Transit has earned my business for life! read more

I always go to this Valvoline location because they are friendly, honest, and efficient. The manager, Tony, is great!! Even when they do not do car inspections until 9, he fit me in ahead of time (greatly appreciated!) They never try to sell you what you do not need. Most places tell you, you need a new air filter. I asked them when I should replace it, and they took mine out to show me. I like that they took the time to explain it to me. I got an inspection and oil change in 30 minutes! I would recommend THIS Valvoline location to anyone! I learned something new too! They have a top off program (free of charge) where they will fill your tires and/or fill your windshield washer fluid. This is a great service!! read more

During my daily life, I drive a vehicle... As I drive a normal vehicle like everyone else, it not surprisingly needs an oil change from time to time. This time, mine was overdue therefore it was due. I figured I'd look into this place further! I called one morning last month about prices; the lady on the other end was friendly in answering my questions. I decided to come in and get it changed. I'm normally pretty skeptical of quick change oil shops, but this one was different. From the lady on the phone, to Tony in the service bay! Everyone was friendly, and first and foremost they got the job done the first time within a reasonable time like they say they will. I even got to sit in my car during the "procedure." They did what I needed but they take people out of order even if you've arrived at the station ahead of someone. And then, one of the guys checked my tires, and I drove away feeling like something was wrong. I made it to another Valvoline that checked and said someone filled the front tire to 81 pounds. yeah, 81 pounds. I called this location to see if they could get me in for a car inspection. The lady on the phone said that they take the last car for inspection at 3:30. I asked "if I arrive at 2:45 will I be able to get inspected?". She said yes as long as you get there before 3:30. I arrive at 2:45 and the employee told me they weren't taking anymore cars. What's crazy is that this exact same situation happened to me a month ago at the same location. There were only two cars in the garage and multiple employees who were just standing around. Seems to me the employees at this location are extremely lazy and prioritize getting out of work early over customer service. read more

Yeah... I won't be back, Erik. I went for an oil change and a car inspection, I went to drop it off because their waiting area is abysmal, you are practically in their garage. "Can I leave my car?" "Sure! But not for the inspection, which we can't do for another hour and a half anyway (despite the empty garage)..." Everywhere else I've ever gone does not do this. I had an appointment so I said just do the oil change and I'll come back and sit through your silly inspection. I come back, "sorry, two hour wait, should've waited..." Now, when I first went, they said they couldn't start inspections for an hour and a half anyway! I know the policy wasn't their fault, but Erik (the manager) wanted nothing to do with me. Didn't even make eye contact, just barked as his employee it would be, "hour and a half, maybe two? I dunno..." Thanks Erik. Massive up charge on oil changes than the next door delta sonic anyway, which is cheaper, cleaner, and actually has a sit in area. I will never be returning Erik. If they show the lack of concern to their customers, you can be darn sure they do the same to your vehicle. Onto better customer care: delta sonic, right next door. I've never been to Valvoline before, but this one on Transit Road is legit. My husband takes his car here for oil changes and loves the speedy and warm service he gets. I recently had to come to get a NY state inspection as we moved to the area. All the employees working were quite friendly and did a great job or working together -- calling out items they were going to use -- and getting stuff done. Since my vehicle is brand new, my inspection didnt take that long and only cost $10 (woohoo!). I don't think I would come here for service only because my car is new, but would recommend it for anyone else looking for reliable and affordable service. In the time it took for me to check some Facebook messages the employees were able to change a woman's oil. Now that's fast. read more

Extremely fast and efficient service. This is the only place I take my Volvo to for its inspection, they are very cool and understand that some cars have... quirks. :) Sadly, this is the last year for me and my Volvo. Next year they will have a different car to work on, but I will definitely keep coming here. I mainly come for inspections, which last about 20 minutes. They don't take appointments, it is first come, first serve. But like I said, the inspections last around 20 minutes, so it isn't a long wait. I would call to make sure the inspector is there before going, but I believe his hours are 9am - 4pm. He breaks for an hour lunch at noon. Their waiting area is very clean as well as their bathroom. Which is more than I can say for some other places. All the staff is very friendly and seem to love working there as well. Definitely an awesome place to take your car to. Stopped in on our way home to New Hampshire from Niagara because the car kept saying "no oil". Tony was AMAZING and talked us through what was happening...my previous oil change sticker said I still had another 5K miles to go before I needed a change so I was shocked to find out the car had hardly anything in it. Had my oil changed a few months ago at this location on transit road due to the fact I didn't have the time to get around to it what a mistake I went to change it and the plug is now stripped which it wasn't before and it's on so tight the gasket is mushroomed out around the plug and had to get the air tools out to get it off thanks for making it convenient never again read more

What's more uplifting than seeing your oil light flashing? Just what I need (not), another PITA task. So right away, this business start off with 2 strikes against them: it's a business that brings in people who are probably, for the most part, completely annoyed that they have to be there, they have 100 other things they'd rather be doing, and they're in a hurry. Perfect conditions for a bad experience. Not exactly like operating a pro shop or a spa. That said, these guys were great. There is a big poster of the company values on the wall (3 or 4 simple, clear statements) and it seemed to me that they're taken seriously. I went in on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm, probably the worst time to go, but had only about a 15-20 wait. The place was clean, the technicians were friendly, you can just sit right in your car and text/read while the whole thing takes place, and I was in-and-out of there with an oil change (and safety check) in about 30mins for around $50. Hard to beat that. Good service, friendly techs who acted professionally and seemed to really care about doing a good job, and a fair price for something none of us want to deal with or have any time for. I'd definitely go back and would recommend it. read more

Went here to get my car inspected, called ahead and was told that they did this service until 5:30. Arrived at 4:30. Was told that they didn't perform this service past 4pm. We informed them that when we called, they told us 5:30. They did the inspection, but serviced all other customers before us, even if we arrived before them. I went this past Saturday (Labor Day weekend) and had a hard time finding a place that could get me in toward the end of the day and change my battery. My own mechanic said it would take over an hour to change the battery in my car...I couldn't wait until Tuesday. Thankfully after calling around my husband found out the Valvoline was 'more than happy to help and was looking forward to us coming in...' When arriving the Manager, Tony, and his two guys, Grant and Nathan were there waiting. They were able to get me in and out within 20 minutes. They start out with poor pricing and customer service, compile on that dishonest sales and upsell techniques, and the cherry on top is that when they make a mistake or cause damage they don't take responsibility. When I first started driving my own new car they convinced me to change oils and fluids that didn't need hanging. The oil switch caused problems because my engine wasn't used to it (confirmed by 2 mechanics). Ended up losing out on my money for the unnecessary service and in repairs! Of course they had no response or concern. Will never go to a Valvoline ever again and prefer to go somewhere that uses another brand of oil. read more
