I ended up waiting for 5 HOURS. 5 hours to mount and balance 4 tires. A job that takes 1 HOUR, TOPS. (I spent nearly 10 years as a full time truck service advisor/writer, so he picked the wrong woman to mess with). I arrived at 1:15, left at 6:15. Was NOT expecting to take up residency in their waiting area. After I got in my car, I noticed they never mounted the used tire or rim I had requested (to have as a full size spare). I was charged for the job. Pulled back up to the doors, and they did take care of that quickly. I was fuming. Also notified the BBB. Depending on if I get my refund or a load of crap from the manager, I may file a grievance with the State Attorney General's office. When I got the total, I questioned the pricing. The other service advisor at pickup said the tires I ordered were discontinued. Bullshit. Another lie. I pulled up the ad on my phone, $110.99 each. The ones I SPECIFICALLY ordered. At no time did anyone inform me that they were discontinued. Charged me $129.99 each, do they seriously think that women are stupid? On a positive note, the tires they put on were good in the snow. Only on emissions...which I passed, so why would I need a reinspection on that? I would have gone elsewhere had i known. And during the 30 days, my brakes dropped below the acceptable number. I walked into Pep Boys and bought two tires to be installed in the front of my son's car. I asked the service guy behind the counter how long it was going to be. He said about and one hour, ok not bad we waited for about 2 and a half hrs., and finally done.. I go on my way i get a call from my son saying that the new tires were install on the rear when we told the service agent that the new tires would go in the front.. call them back, the service agent said that PER THERE COMPANY POLICY the new tires would be installed on the rear not the front. I showed up 15 minutes before appointment and they checked me in and said to follow the work progress on the app. An hour later the app updated to tell me when the car would be ready. I returned at the time to find that my car wasn't ready; it hadn't even been started yet. I had an inspection done at the end of January, and the mechanic only said that I needed to have the brakes done. Now the end of February I bring in my car to have the rear brakes done and the same mechanic tells me that I need to replace the belt and that he checked the car fax and saw I never replaced my spark plugs. How do you go from the rear of the car to looking under the hood to find these other things you didn't find a month ago during the inspection. Now I go from a $200 job to almost $600. I had the bad fortune of having my car towed to the Whitehall location. The first day my car was there nothing was done because they were waiting on parts. parts arrived later that day. Today is now the second day and they just started working on my car at 11. The "technician" that's working on my car spends 10 minutes on it and then disappears. The mechanics here are mostly lazy young guys that spend more time staring at their phones and talking to each other than getting any work done. Took my car here for an oil change on 2/12/22. Spoke to the front end gentlemen and seemed like everything was going to go swimmingly. With my oil change it stated I got a free tire rotation and I also had a %25 off coupon. When I was told I was ready to go I was told my total was $90, which was before I showed them the coupon. After the guy fiddled with the computer a bit I was told my total included the coupon, how is this possible since I didn't mention before but only after telling them I had one when I was told my total. When I got to my home I visually checked the tire rotation. I have three of the same make and model and one fire stone so I expected the fire stone to be in the front due to it being in the back when I brought it in. At this point I look at my receipt and am shocked, there are several times things I didn't ask for which caused my bill to be even higher. Called corporate and was told they will "open a complaint" and there is nothing they can do. I will have to go back to the store regardless. Mechanic is Branden, who charged me for an hours worth of labor although I was only there for 45 minutes, didn't rotate my tires and added more fluids then needed which was never spoken to me about. Extremely pissed off! Got tires last year, last winter on my wife's car. We only went because we had a coupon and a free tire. Well today I went to jack Williams to replace my tires on my wife's car. And here they called me and told me the tires that I got put on last year. We're the wrong type of tires and weight class for the car that we have. So any point they could have popped or caused severe damage or an accident! Jack Williams said that it is such unsafe, that they could not believe that they would go that far to install something so unsafe and wrong. It's a liability. I was hearing noises in the front of my car whenever I had to break, and figured it had to do something with the front tire break pads needing to be replaced. I took my car to pep boys, and notified them of what I was hearing. They supposably did an engine check and ended up changing one of the rear tire rods and break pads. One of the mechanics, Steve, had our car towed to his brother's shop, Mike's Auto Service, in Catasauqua without our authorization or knowledge. Because we didn't know Steve had our car towed to Mike's Auto Service, we told AAA to pick up our car from Pep Boys, which is where we left it. My brother went to Pep Boys to meet AAA and he was told that our car was no longer there. Steve lied to manager and my brother, telling them I had car towed to Mike's Auto Service. My brother knew this was not true but manager Isaac took his side. I called AAA to go to Mike's Auto instead of Pep Boys to pick up car and I had to drive there to meet AAA and it was awful because I don't know my way around Caty. My brother's car value is $150, so it was very upsetting that Steve wanted his brother to replace engine for $1500. They lost a loyal customer. read more

I bought 4 Cooper tires at the Pep Boys in Baldwin, Long Island, NY about a week ago because I had a flat while visiting family. Flash forward about a week later .........on my way to MusikFest yesterday, a bolt punctured my new driver side tire! I called the location in Baldwin and I was told that since I declined the extended warranty a new tire was NOT covered. I went to the Whitehall location Monday morning and explained to Gilbert that I just got the tires last week. He said there is a limited warranty even though I didn't get the extended warranty as long as I had the receipt. I produced my receipt from the Baldwin, NY location. I went to get a quick breakfast at the diner across the way and I got a replacement tire in under two hours. Fishing for business! My vehicle failed inspection for fog lights inoperable. This is a legitimate failure. The problem is not just a simple bulb. However, the manager (Mike) informs me that if the shop does not do the work then they have to reinspect the vehicle and charge me again! Moreover he claims this is the state law, which is not true. State law allows a 10-day grace period to repair the vehicle and bring back to complete the inspection. Moreover I have done this more than once at this location, once even this year and was not charged for an additional inspection. After calling three other garages, it is clear that pep boys is simply fishing for business! You have been warned! More over upon further inspection, PepBoys removed the bulbs! BEWARE!!! DON'T LET THEM TOUCH YOUR WHEELS!!! I was in Allentown visiting family and I had my oil changed at the Whitehall Pep Boys and they rotated my tires. I recently had a noise coming from my driver side wheel. I brought it to my mechanic and he said that all the lug nuts on this wheel including the one with the wheel lock on it were dangerously loose. He said it was dangerously loose and could have fallen off. This Whitehall Pep Boys location is the last place that touched my car so there is no doubt in my mind that your shop is to blame for this. I spoke with a Joe Kudla and your customer care department and i'm not feeling like they care too much about it. Then I went out to check the other wheels to see if they were loose too and sure enough the left front wheel had 3 loose lug nuts so loose that I could spin them with my hand. The left back wheel WAS MISSING A LUG NUT ENTIRELY!!! This makes me extremely upset that you put my life and my wife's life in danger by your obvious carelessness and negligence. You lack of concern is very surprising as well. If nothing is done about this by your company I will be forced to explore other avenues considering the seriousness of this situation. read more

Andrew provided superior service. I needed a headlight and a brake light replaced. He quoted me a very fair price and told me it would take 45 mins. I putzed around the store for a bit, and then took a seat in thier "waiting room". Which was a few folding chairs against the wall in the actual pep boys store. I took a star off for the awkward waiting room, and also the parking lot is very tight, right off, literally right off MacArthur road. My car was completed in 45 mins as promised and Andrew let me use a 10% off any service coupon off my iphone. I was VERY PLEASED with his personal service, completion of service within quoted time, and overall experience. I will be back to this location and I will recommend this place to my friends! Pepboys moto is you wont pay full price. they charge 103.00 per hour for labor. the price on there axle in the store for a saturn is 66.00 but they charge 133.00 per axle in the garage. they also claim you need an alignment when you get axle job done. this is told bull, other garages charge around 75.00 for the axle and 75.00 to install. you never need an alignment when replacing axles. pepboys is ripping you off people. next time call the parts counter and ask how much the part is and then call the service side and look at the difference. plus they have been known for damaging parts on your car and blame it on the tow truck drivers. do not let them scam you. best bet is to go to a mom and pop garage. for one you will get better respect and you WONT pay full price. They think they can charge dealer rates for repairs. Wake up people time to stop going here for repairs. read more
