Owner is very nice! We had the shrimp cocktail and 3 taco plate that comes with rice and beans. I would recommend not to cook the steak so well done because my asada tacos were dry. But this is coming from someone that likes steak medium rare so I think that also contributes to it. Plenty of seating and has a mom and pop type of feel inside. read more

We were craving some queso birria tacos so we came to check them out. My kids and I all ordered the two tacos with rice and beans for $12.99. Tacos and consume were very tasty, rice very fluffy. We dined in and was served complimentary chips and salsa. For the price and taste we would definitely come back. It is a very casual little spot. The service was also very hospitable! We ate here on a whim while in the area. What stood out is how hospitable the owner is. We ordered to go and ended up eating there. The owner didn't mind and brought out chips and salsa... then offered us water too. We didn't expect the hospitable accommodations as it was closer to closing time and I dislike being the person who keeps a restaurant open longer than closing hours. Owner didn't mind and told us, "if you want to call an order and it's close to closing time. Still call me. I'll stay open for you, no problem." The Gordita was 4.99$ and BF ordered 2 tacos. Our first time coming here are we are blown away! To go order of green Chile verde wet burrito and ground beef burrito supreme. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my supreme burrito had been pan seared. They forgot my sour cream but it was so good I didn't mind. We'll definitely be back. I've been eyeing this spot for a while and I'm so glad we finally checked it out! This is hidden in the shopping center off of Cedar and Herndon next to R&N market. We unanimously voted that this is our new Mexican spot! They have a great variety from mariscos to tamales. We ordered tacos, carnitas tacos, asada fries, and green chile asada burrito. They stacked on and layered well the toppings on the fries and nachos. The burrito had great flavor! My kids loved the tacos! We were so pleased with our food and service, that we will happily be coming back. read more

We were really looking forward to trying their quessabirria tacos with dipping sauce for lunch. We ordered combos with enchiladas & chile rellanos as well. Unfortunately, we were very dissapointed! Instead of being crunchy, the tacos were limp & the sauce was flavorless & thin. The chile rellano was too soft & had to use a knife to try to cut it. The enchiladas had very little ground beef in them & the Spanish rice wasn't like any Spanish rice we'd ever had. It was almost like eating plain white rice. After all of that, we had indigestion the rest of the day & I had to take a Tagamet. Also, it was expensive. Will never eat here again. read more

This place is a hidden gem! Not fancy, but food is superb and owner is a very nice guy! I had guacamole and chips, and a shrimp taco. The guac was plentiful, mixed chunky, with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and some secret ingredients that made it perfect. Chips are light - lard free! Thanks for that! People don't need chips fried in pig fat - yuck! If Inthought it could not get better, I was wrong! The shrimp taco has the most delicately lightly fried shell that tasted beautiful. Plentiful shrimp, a light addition of melted cheese, and a sauce on that must have been inspired by angels. I've eaten lots of shrimp tacos and I thought I knew quality until I realized what I had been missing out on. Oh, and low priced beer and the sodas come in big cups! The beans and rice are really good. Their salsa are fresh and on the spicy side. My wife ordered an enchilada style shrimp burrito with green sauce. It was full of tasty shrimp along with beans and rice, covered in green sauce with melted cheese on top. I had an enchilada style shredded beef burrito with red sauce. The burrito had tons of shredded beef in it and the red sauce was rich and deep in flavor. I tried the green sauce and it was spicier than my red sauce. I ordered a chicken taco and it was all white meat and tasty. The owner was nice and the food was done on time. The price is fair, what you would expect. I would definitely go back. read more

Overall, the food was pretty good. This was my first time trying Pepa's so I ordered a Carne asada burrito to go. They were fast and friendly. However, I was quite disappointed with the amount of meat that was in the burrito. It was mainly a rice and bean burrito with a little bit of meat. I don't like that. I also added guacamole and cheese to my burrito at extra cost. There didn't seem to be a thought to adding the guacamole to the burrito as it was all in one small spot at the very bottom of the burrito. So I didn't get to enjoy guacamole in each bite and was too full to finish the burrito where the guacamole was. The salsa was okay. Overall it was a decent burrito but I am not inclined to go back and try other menu options. read more

Very good to great Taqueria style Mexican Restaurant. Their menu has significantly more food options than most restaurants of this type so it was hard to choose what to eat. I went with the number 11, the Durango Steak Combo plate with rice and beans. I will start out with one nitpick....the chips were Style and I thought that the two salsas( one red, one green) could have used a little more spice. The Durango Steak was, however, quite delicious! Perfectly cooked and seasoned with a quality side of rice and beans left me more than satisfied. The service was also fast and friendly. My family has eaten here a few times since moving to the area and we have loved everything we've ordered each time. I had to knock them down a star due to a recent takeout experience where I went to go pickup my order at the scheduled time and had to wait at the bar in a crowded restaurant for 30 minutes for my order to be ready... basically in my pajamas, because I expected to be able to just pick up and go home. I'm not overly COVID cautious, but having to wait amongst a crowd of unmasked diners for my takeout order for that long kind of rubbed me the wrong way. The manager was apologetic, and I understand that they were busy, but I think the takeout situation should have been handled better. We will still return for the great food, but I hope this review may help them realize the takeout process could be greatly improved. read more

Definitely, much closer to 3.5 stars but, sadly, thats not an option. Kind of a gripe that i have to grade at either A+, B, or D, but i guess it averages out on its own. With that said, I usually don't like to leave reviews unless i'm in love with the spot, but i figured if i'm going to yelp, might as well shoot for elite. BOOM!!!!!!! Me and my lady have eaten here a few times, and she seems to love it. I cant say for sure if i'd ever dine here on my own, although the food is not bad at all. We usually split a bacon, egg, cheese, and potato filled burrito, which is pretty enjoyable. It's a good size and the tortilla is nice and toasty. Add guac and sour cream if you're feeling frisky. ;) I've had the chili verde plate as well, pretty meh, overall. wouldn't order it again. I've been to damn near 100 million mexican joints, in Fresno, and id put it somewhere slightly above average. You do get complimentary chips served with their red and green salsas, which is always a plus. I'm sure i will be back, so ill try a few of their dishes, and hopefully, update with a much more charismatic review. :) read more

The food here is absolutely delicious! We have been searching for authentic Mexican food for a while and finally found it at this small family run business. The salsas are homemade and can vary from burning your lips off to gringo style. Make sure to request spicy salsa when ordering your food. The Chili Verde is tender and spicy.
