A co-worker of mine always gets tacos and burritos from here. Small little spot, it's near a bunch of automotive spots on N Blackstone so you would miss it if you didn't already know it was there. Friendly staff, but the place isn't really kept up. I tried the asada tacos and they were juicy and flavorful no wonder my co-worker goes there often. The price point isn't to bad either. Saw this restaurant on a YouTube channel with the guy visiting Fresno. The tacos looked amazing so we came to give it a try. The owner is so sweet and friendly. It smells amazing when he starts cooking and I ordered three different tacos: carne asada, adobada, and carnitas. The carne asada was my favorite one. This location is nestled into some industrial part where not many restaurants are located. It's dingy inside and could use some good cleaning. Now to the food...The tacos were so full of flavor and the meat is so juicy! I love how they add some grilled onions to the tacos, too. The asada is really well seasoned and I enjoyed every bite! My handsome always takes me to these random restaurants... I wasn't too sure how to rate this place Because as far as the food was... I'm gonna give it two thumbs up... sooo good but as far as cleanliness it was not very clean. The trash was overflowing and the tables needed to be cleaned and just tidied up a bit more inside. There were two workers who were really nice. I ordered a carne asada torta and my husband ordered asada tacos... We will definitely be going back soon. I will be be taking my own wipes next time but we will be back to try something else. read more

JUICY BIB ALERT! Some curiosity and a willingness to try something new usually pays off. One exception might be a restaurant where you don't have information on it... Luckily, this place ended up in the priority column! Here's why: simply some of the most delicious tacos I've ever had in my life! Just a few steps out the door from Harbor freight on lower Blackstone, it's a very humble place, but does have tables if you choose to eat there. The help was friendly enough. I was not hugely hungry so just ordered one Taco Al Pastor and one Carnitas with everything on it. Eaten on the back trunk in the parking lot with one of the Nitrite gloves I'd just purchased, It was a JUICY and delicious experience! I had planned on hitting the gym and wanted to get some food in me... I don't get down to that area often and thankfully needed a very cheap tool for a specific job. Enter the 'shoveling glove!' Remember, this is the Harbor freight area, so it's kind of sketchy and parking can get packed. Be especially careful pulling back out on to Blackstone as the view of oncoming traffic could be easily hit by various trucks... Hard to believe I ate at chipotle yesterday! Today I encountered a 'spoiler version' that would from then on make OTHER options FAR less interesting! I am so not kidding how good these tacos were. I made it a point to go back in and profusely thank them. Nice to encourage folks doing something exceptional! A 'shoveling' glove speeds up the time it takes for the food to get into your mouth without having to be concerned about washing up before getting in your nice car! The pricing was incredibly reasonable, and please be sure to give them a tip! Me too since I just turned you onto some of the best tacos I've ever tasted! Seriously! 3/29/25 Ham breakfast burrito with jalapeños added ordered. The worker was kind and said it would be ready in 10 minutes. Arrived!! Checked in and he had it was ready and waiting. I was giving him cash, but he didn't have change and you could tell, felt bad. I told him not a problem and gave him my card. Paid for it with well wishes! Restaurant is safe and clean. The sign out front advertising homemade tortillas has made me want to try this place for months. I finally went in but that day was craving a torta. The inside is pretty small - around 8 tables. My phone was drying or I would've taken more pics inside - there's just an assortment of things they like: couple 49er posters, big "Made in Nayarit" banner, etc., gave me lots to check out while I waited for my sandwich. I took my carnitas torta home to eat. The bread wasn't toasted so it was getting too wet. Glad I asked for no tomato. I usually get a torta when I try a new place because they are my favorite and I judge them all by the little market in salinas that makes the best. Taqueria Nayarit torta comes with choice of meat, avocado, tomato, lettuce, onions, salsa. It was really flavorful but I felt rushed to eat before it got too soggy (my reason for 4 stars). I prefer torta with pickled jalapeños instead of salsa for just this reason. The carnitas in this one was really really good. I'll go back here just to have this pork meat - I didn't get any fat but oh yummm, it was there! So I have to go back to try the tortillas. And mire carnitas. read more

I had the 2 taco plate with rice and beans. My meat og chive was carnitas. The food came out piping hot and it was delicious. I asked the chef/owner of the shop if he sells the meat and he said no because he make the meat for his food daily. Not just daily but enough for the morning that will get him through lunch and then enough for the later part of the day. You are getting fresh cooked food everyday!!! As I wait in the nextdoor mechanics lobby, 2 old Armenian men are screaming at each other in Armenian. The scene is tense, but I have no worries as my world is too filled with delicious chicken burrito flavor. The meat is tender and marinated with the flavors acquired by generations of perfection, the beans and rice so delicate a baby angel could fall asleep in them, the salsa tangy but not hot enough to make me cry, just wince in what is more glorious than painful. This place did not disappoint! You can order them with nacho cheese or shredded cheese. I was so happy about that! I prefer shredded cheese. Nachos were: chips, shredded cheese, Pinto refried beans, LOTS of Asada, pico de gallo, sour cream and slices of avocado. Salsa on the side. Service was fast and kind. Breakfast burrito was good. I wouldn't count on the posted hours as this is a small business, apparently run by one person. I'm going back the next time I go to Harbor Freight. Four stars on the taqueria scale. PS OK, so I went back the next time I was at Harbor freight and had a burrito. It was pretty good. But, someone else ordered the Sopes and they looked great! Nicely plated, fresh pico de gallo, fresh avocado slices on top. That is definitely what I'm going to order next time. Also, they use real plates and real cutlery instead of plastic or Styrofoam. As someone who brings their own cutlery and refuses to buy soft drinks if served in Styrofoam cups to avoid the waste, I really appreciate that. read more

I love the tacos here, especially the chile verde tacos!! For $1.25, can't beat that price. Asada is good too. My friends and I have been coming here between classes for the last 10 months. We go at least once a week to get a fix. They've ordered the lengua, carnitas, and quesadilla. All of which looked delciois. If you get tap water, the raspberry iced tea button dispenses it, but you gotta press the button before pulling the lever. If you come around lunch time, you might catch 2 guys with paleta trucks there and get dessert as well. I love the quirkiness of this family-owned restaurant. They work hard and I hope they succeed. A warning...The place has no central air, so it's hotter than hell in the summer and teeth-chattering cold in the winter. There is a swamp cooler that works from time to time and a fan that you can direct at your table. But the sweat makes it feel a bit more rustic. And that this place better be damn worth it to be sweating like a pig....or....you can take it to go! :D read more

Been going there for years and never had a bad experience. This is a great family owned business and the couple that run it are so wonderful. The food is great, the beans and rice are amazing. We get breakfast burritos there almost weekly. When we went vegetarian they had no problem doing veggie burritos. And they are bomb. The salsa is nice and hot, the avocados we get in the burritos are fresh and the atmosphere is pleasant. Its a great place for breakfast or a quick lunch. i was in the mood for someplace different than my usuals, so i started driving down blackstone looking for anything that might catch my eye. i wanted someplace local, and maybe even a hole in the wall type joint. as i headed south, tacos nayarit jumped out at me (not literally). located @ 1375 n blackstone, it's just north of olive. it's also right next to a cigarette store location. on the window, i saw ads for homemade tortillas and daily specials. sounds good to me. once inside, i ordered an asada taco for a buck. it tasted pretty good. there was nice salsa on it, and the spice really crept up on me, but in a good way. the taco was sort of an appetizer for me, a reference point to measure against other mexican restaurants. so far, so good. i also ordered the chile verde plate for $6. it cames with beans and rice. but, for some reason it didn't come with tortillas. i had to ask for some. they came out (for free thankfully), but they were just some store-bought corn ones. they advertise home made tortillas on the window! wha? anyway, the refried beans were good and tasty. the rice, well, I expect spanish rice in restaurant to be mediocre, and it was. so, no loss there. but what about the chile verde? great. chile verde is often pretty bland at restaurants, in my opinion. this one surprised me with how spicy it was. but, it was also very good tasting. they provided a very generous portion, and i finished eating i was full and satisfied. behind the counter there was a sign up saying, "no public restrooms," but a customer did ask and use their restroom while i was there, so i don't know what to make of that. they also had a sign that said cash only, but i saw a card swiper. probably the only unsatisfactory part of my meal was that the soda was $2 and they wanted 50 cents for refills. come on, soda is like a nickel a gallon when you have a fountain machine. there's seating in the restaurant for about 25 people, so feel free to bring your friends when you come eat. read more

AMAZING!!! We have seen this place before when we go to Harbor Freight but never thought about stopping. We talked to a cashier at Harbor Freight and she said that they are to die for and would carter to her cravings when she was pregnant. We really didn't know what to expect but i did notice that they made handmade tortillas so thats a big PLUS! I got a carne asada burrito, LARGE and it was AMAZING!! Their chile was super hot and was to die for. We also got an enchilada plate and my wife was super impressed. She said that it is comparable to her mom's cooking. Thats a huge compliment! They are definitely not shy on their servings and you get to leave with a full stomach and money in your pocket! Totally a go to place, you have to try it! read more

Dropped in to try their homemade tortillas. Great choice. The tortillas were light and delicious, they didn't overshadow the meat in my tacos. I tried 4 tacos; asada, chicken, carnitas and Chile verde. The asada had a little crisp on the meat but were far from dry like most asada can be. The chicken was tender, juicy and not dry at all. The carnitas was juicy with a little crisp to it, great carnitas flavor. The star was the Chile verde taco, it wa tender and almost melted on the first bite. The Chile verde was not over spicy and hot lots of flavor. I love across town and will be bringing my wife back to have some tacos. This is a great spot on Blackstone just north of McKinley. Quick access from City College and Tower District. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I've seen this place many times but never went in. I needed some place near my work so I tried it out. The place is kinda dirty. The torta was not great. The lettuce was old and the torta itself was kinda slopped together. I wouldn't order it again. I ordered a torta and a canned soda and it was $8. Kinda expensive for what it was. I would probably go again ONLY since its near my work and if I don't feel like having Mcdonald's that day. But if I have a choice of small taqerias, this would be my last choice. read more
