Went drive thru at 8am and they took forever to make my burrito, but hey at least I know it was made fresh! Really nice service and their burritos are huuge! Pepe's has been a go-to restaurant to me for the past few years, and for good reason. Not only do they have some of the best tasting burritos I've ever had, but the portion sizes are among the largest I've ever seen, barring a few exceptions. The breakfast burritos are delicious, with the ingredients being perfectly proportioned and giving every bite a unique taste. The refried beans are a nice touch, and are not found in many other similar burritos, thus separating Pepe's from the rest of the competition. There are no potatoes, however, which may be a put off to some, but the rest of the fillings make up for this absence. Bacon is also a must-add item that adds a satisfying crispness to the burrito. Sausage, on the other hand, is the only thing I would not recommend adding, as it just tastes bland and unwanted in comparison to everything else in the burrito. Besides this minor and avoidable exception, the breakfast burrito here never fails to disappoint. Despite the breakfast burrito being the staple of Pepe's, I honestly enjoy eating the equally thicc California burrito. I recommend keeping carne asade as the primary meat, which during all of my experiences at this restaurant has been juicy and flavorful. The French fries, guacamole, and pico de gallo all combine as excellent complements to the beef, and taste very fresh as well. Every bite is a different experience with the Cali due to the diversity of ingredients, which is one of the main driving factors for my frequent returns to Pepe's. This restaurant is DA BOMB, and I HIGHLY recommend giving it a try, no matter what you order. I'm sure there are plenty of other options besides the ones I listed that are equally as addictive and delicious, but the breakfast and Cali burrito are sufficient starting points. I've been here a trillion times and this is the first bad experience. I ordered a shredded beef burrito. I asked to not add rice or pico. One of the employees came to me and said they charged me wrong. They said because I didn't want rice and pico they would have to charge me...confused here, it already comes with rice and pico, since I don't want it your going to charge me! Waited about another 5 minutes only to have the cashier tell me they're still waiting on one of my TWO tacos and that I need to pull to the side.. Waiting another 5 minutes. Yet everyone else behind me in the drive thru has gotten their food and gone through before I even get mine. Doesn't make sense.. I only got tacos because I figured it would be pretty fast to make but I guess not. Very annoyed with the service today. First bad experience and I've been coming here for years. The tacos were delicious but a little over filled, it's nice to get your money's worth but a pain in the butt when it's packed so much everything falls out when you unwrap it and try to eat it. On my first visit, I ordered a California burrito with carne asada. It was decent, it became monotonous after a while and I just couldn't finish. The flavor was really all that great but it was doable. Now cut to a few hours later and I'm running back and forth to the toilet after that being the only thing I ate all day. Terrible, I had the runs until the end of the next day. The second time I came I grabbed a basic carnitas burrito. The meat was bland, and seamed like it had been stewing. The refried beans were bland, I asked for sour cream and cheese, and they only put it in one part of the burrito. The third time I came here, I ordered a sausage breakfast burrito. It was huge so I was so excited! When I bit into it I was thrown off by the bland refried beans, so many eggs, which were bland and gray looking, barely any potatoes, and barely any sausage.
