First time coming back after 20+ years. I recall this place had a simple Mexican menu and is a pretty good spot for lunch. Fast forward to now. I came it and picked up lunch for the family. I personally ordered a fish burrito, but also got taquitos, a chile rellano meal, and chicken burrito for the rest of my family. The fish burrito was filling, but wasn't consistently good. The first bites for the fish fillets were overly fried, but the center of the burrito was better. My family enjoyed their food: The taquitos were good, and the chile rellano made a good meal with all the sides. The chicken burrito was cooked with their red sauce so if you are not into heat, ask for them to cook in the green sauce or find other options on the menu. I guess the fat person in me since I was young has that carne asada fries craving every month or so and I got this because I wanted my cravings craved 2 weeks ago. I have been getting it at Mr Albert's Mexican Food at la habra for a long bit and so this was slightly cheaper and so I got it. Boy was I super disappointed in everything I got. I got carne asada fries and carne asada quesdilla and both were equally disappointing in their own respective way. The carne asada was just horrible but especially in the fries. The fries were actually ok but come on it's fries. The quesdilla were simply super super dry. I had come to Molca Salsa since forever and it's not because my taste buds changed but they have definitely lower their quality and it's just very bad in their current state. While Mr Albert's Mexican Food is not anything close to anything in SD, it hits the spot and that's where I'll be getting all my carne asada fries craving. This is a fast food Mexican restaurant that I really enjoy their adobada tacos! They are large tacos so I usually only order one. I don't like guac so I don't ask for it. I would usually get it on the side, but my brother and bf don't like it since it's super watery. This is a casual place with a small area to sit and 2 drive through windows. Used to be a favorite but I was disappointed this time I used to come here all the time back in high school and have a lot of great memories of late night Molca runs, It's been a while since I've had their breakfast burrito, so I decided to give it another shot but unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. Disappointed that a kitchen full of Hispanic people put out this flavor-free food. We were really looking forward to some adobada (al pastor). The meat was diced up beautifully but that's where the positive review ends. No flavor = no love. The salsa verde, sour cream and avocado "sauce" were watered down, dissipating any flavor they might have had. Dining in was our 2nd mistake. The place is tiny w/very limited indoor seating, yet the TV was blaring so loudly it was distorted. I literally couldn't hear my wife sitting directly across the table from me. i am a molcasalser for life (heart emoji) I've been eating here for six~seven years. I love that they are open 24/7. Their adobada superfries are the best (only after midnight). I had appendicitis from eating so much molcalsa super fries a few years back, but I made my come back and never felt better. tbh the service could be better, but my boi Romero such a friend guy :) he called me bro every time, and it was the most welcoming feeling ever! I know I wrote a review for this place lol but it's not there? How strange is that? I like this restaurant they have two area's you can go through drive thru which is nice. They always are friendly and give the food quickly. I really love their nachos, the chips are fresh and crunchy, the carne asada is cooked perfectly, the cheese is nice and cheesy lol I always forget to say no sour cream though, but eat around that, wish they gave more guacamole in there but still amazing. I ended up getting the carne asada fries instead this time around. I really like their quesadillas too they are delicious but little oily. It's not the absolute best Mexican food but for fast food t's delicious, and they have yummy horchata. They have a pretty good size menu too. I saw some of my Yelp friends have been here too. Their chips are fresh I love the green salsa the red is also good too. It was the best shrimp burrito I've had in a while, and it didn't taste conventional. I think they put some sort of slaw like shredded cabbage, which was unique for me. It was also extremely saucy, which I normally don't like, but it was gooey goodness. And of course, it did get dry at the end, so I wish I ordered the piña. I like the fact that it is made to order, but they prepped it pretty quickly. And even though I didn't taste it until more half an hour later, the food was still warm and tasty. Visually, it looked modest, but maybe I was just starving because it satiated my tummy. It's open 24/7- something my drunk munchie self has come to appreciate countless times after a night of debauchery. The only thing you ever need to order when you come here are the super fries (aka carne asada fries). Crisp fries, and from my experience, can easily feed 2-3 drunk people. My second go-to item is usually the carne asada torta. It's a bit undersized in my opinion for the price but still pretty darn good. The interior is pretty small & admittedly, not the most sanitary sometimes. However, there are plenty of tables outside. Is it the greatest food ever? I ordered a California burrito and received a shrimp burrito (must've thought i said "camarón"), and I ordered nachos with chips on the side and received nachos with cheese on the side. I'm conflicted because the food was good, like if I got what I ordered I'm sure the burrito would've been great, or if I liked shrimp burritos I'm sure this would've been a good one. We've been going to Molca Salsa for over 20 years and their food is EXCELLENT!! Authentic Mexican. The Rolled Tacos with guacamole are some of the BEST I've ever had. And they have a dish called The Flying saucer that is out of this world; a fried, flour tortilla with beans, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, meat of your choice, bell peppers. Like a Tostada salad. DELICIOUS. The Enchiladas are also incredible. The Chorizo con Juevo is a breakfast FAVORITE. I've written at least 2 reviews for this place and it keeps getting deleted or lost. Maybe this one will stick. My wife and I have been coming here for over 12 years (actually she's been a lot longer since she's lived in the area as a kid). It was our go to late night spot after a night of clubbing or partying and we needed a bite or snack around 3 am. And it was our morning after, I-don't-want-menudo-but-I'll- take-a-breakfast-burrito-instead-to-help-with-this-hangover, spot. Then, it morphed into our regular night time after dinner, binge watching Dexter on Showtime, super nachos spot. After 3 kids, it became our "I'm too lazy to cook, what do you want for lunch/dinner?" place. In a word, it's one of our regular staple rotations. The kids like the taquitos and nacho fries and my wife and I love the breakfast burritos and SHRIMP super nachos (it's off menu, so you have to know about it to order it). The food is pretty consistent and the location is really easy to get to (on the corner of Imperial and Harbor) and there are two drive thru lanes and ample parking. In the over 12 years we've been coming here, I don't ever remember it being closed. For some reason, it tastes better than their other location on Whittier, but maybe it's just because we have been coming here so long that we BELIEVE it' better. But, whatever the case, we like it here more. I'm a shrimp fan and we've had the chicken and carne asada super nachos for years. So one night I asked if they could put shrimp on the nachos. To my surprise, they said sure. So, for the past 6 years, the ONLY way we get the super nachos is with shrimp. Their shrimp burrito is good, too, and was just too much for me to finish when I ordered it for lunch. It's sauteed with onions and bell peppers, like a fajita, and rolled with rice and beans and tomatoes and sour cream and cheese in a large flour tortilla. Definitely enough to share. Which is how we get most of our food from here. We share it: with our kids, our friends, our families. I remember how, as a kid, my dad would take me to Pioneer chicken or Shakeys and I got excited knowing that I would get to eat something really flavorful and filling. That's how I believe my kids (at least I know my wife and I) will feel about this place as long as they stay open. In fact, my kids and brother-in-law often ask, "when are you going to Moke again?"
