Stewby's, Tried the Mahi mahi and grouper dinners, both ordered sauteed were seasoned well with good portions but slightly overcooked and dry. Sides excelled (collards best, crisp seasoned fries, creamy cheese grits). Gumbo chunky but under seasoned in my personal opinion. Would recommends for fresh, affordable no frills seafood.

Loved it again, everything was great, staff was great and the food was fantastic. Staff explained their menu, green beans are cooked in bacon, grilled fish tastes fresh with little fishy flavor, fried shrimp was big and their gumbo is super good.

This place was legit! We stopped here while in town for work. Didn't want a fancy place, just fresh food seafood. I got the grilled grouper. It was fantastic. Was shocked at the amount of fish on the plate! Came with hushpuppies and 2 sides. Got the green beans and a salad.

Best shrimp on the planet. We plan vacations around how far away this place is! We have driven 4 hours, one way, just to eat here.

My favorite place to eat in Ft. Walton. Best grilled fish and hushpuppies ever. I ate there 3 times last week when on vacation.

It's a good little local spot. A tad pricey but good food and many options. Service was reasonable also. Would come back for sure.

Did they stop serving the soft shell crab?

At the moment yes. Next shipment of crab should arrive next week.

Tony's Gumbo House - A Little Slice of New Orleans Heaven!…read moreI'm still dreaming about my meal at Tony's Gumbo House. From the moment we walked in, the smell of dark roux and the Gulf Coast hit us like a warm hug. This place doesn't taste like "New Orleans-inspired" - it tastes like somebody's Creole grandma has been standing over that pot all day, and they brought her straight to the table. The seafood gumbo is flat-out outstanding. Perfectly balanced, rich, smoky roux with a deep, soulful flavor that builds with every spoonful. Shrimp, crab, and oysters so fresh they practically wink at you, all swimming in that mahogany elixir with just the right kick of spice that lingers (in the best way). I'd bathe in this gumbo if it were socially acceptable. Then came the gumbo pasta - y'all, I wasn't ready. Al dente pasta tossed in a lighter version of that incredible seafood gumbo, finished with Parmesan and green onions. It's the love child of Louisiana and Italy, and it is second to none. I'm ruined for all other pasta dishes now. And the beignets? Lord have mercy. Piping hot, pillowy squares buried under a blizzard of powdered sugar. Crispy outside, airy inside, with that faint whisper of vanilla. We ordered one plate "to share" and immediately ordered two more. Zero regrets. Service was warm, quick, and full of genuine NOLA hospitality. Prices are beyond fair for the quality and portion size - we left stuffed and still took leftovers home. If you're craving real-deal New Orleans flavors executed to perfection, run (don't walk) to Tony's Gumbo House. I'm already planning my next visit... probably tomorrow. 10/10. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

I could easily eat a whole pot of the chicken and sausage gumbo myself because it was just SO delicious. If you're ever around the south end of hwy 87 you HAVE to try Mrs Tonie's food. 100% chance I'll be a frequent customer now.

The first time the waitress was exceptional and asked us if we wanted chop sticks, which we did. The second time was around 4:30 on New Years Eve. They were closing early that night for a private party. There was only one waitress and service was slower but still exceptable. 3rd time had the same sweet waitress (Jam) as the first time. They seem to get as many takeout orders as sit in and the bar was full-all seats taken. Here is the food review: Appetizers: Bang Bang Chicken is lightly breaded with an amazing sauce. We have ordered this twice. Gyoza is a fried dumpling. We had ordered these the second time we were here because they were out of the steamed pork dumplings. They are good but we prefer the steamed pork dumplings which we have had twice. Their sauce is awesome. On our 3rd visit we wanted to try something different and ordered the seafood wonton. We are happy we did because they were the best we have ever had. The wonton is light and crispy with ample filling of seafood and cream cheese. Mains: Grilled Chicken sandwich-light and tasty with a side of cole slaw just like grandma made and lightly breaded onion rings that were not greasy. Delicious. SuKiYaKi Noodle Soup- had this with chicken and spice level hot. The soup is mild but the hit level is very spicy. Pad Thai- one chicken and two combos were tried. I order the medium level which is plenty spicy for me. My husband orders hot and sometimes it is a tad spicer than other restaurants we have tried. They even have a Thai hot and one more level. The Pad Thai was delicious on all accounts and a step above to other places we have tried. Drunken noodle-a delicious meal Pepper steak: Was delicious even without the peppers. After a few bites I noticed that there were not any sweet peppers in the dish. I mentioned it to the waitress and she came back with a bowel of stir fried peppers to add to my dish. The beef was tender and good quality. Yellow Curry-this dish was enjoyed and the blend of coconut and pineapple was delicious. We have also enjoyed the iced Thai tea. We believe we have found our fave Thai restaurant. It is similar to our previous fave in food but this restaurant has a better ambience.
