Checking out established Denver faves with my favorite established Denver friend! It was cool to check out a place with her on Santa Fe. Had not really been over to the area other than the Museo de Las Americas - which is such a cool museum! It was a bright aF day outside and then entering Chuey Fu's was a little like entering La Diabla Y Pozole where it's suddenly a whole different environment that you've just stepped into! A distinct vibe. This one was creative/arty/edgy and the menu reflected that vibe as well. I had just tried the Pho Sizzle at Saigon Noodle Club at Edgewater and so when I saw the Pho Burrito on the menu here at Chuey Fu's I was like whaaa??...had to try it and it was SO flavorful! Veeerry delicious. I would definitely get it again. While sunning with a generous happy hour Paloma on the back patio, I noticed their brunch menu and was thinking that looked like a great thing to come back and try as well! For the vegans - we had some plaintains and they were beautiful and smoky caramelized and so tasty! They have other vegan food there too or my friend would not have recommended it, but we were there mostly for happy hour items! I had to try the pho burrito tho! Took half of it home! The bartender and servers were chill and laid back. It was a very pleasant happy hour! It wasn't super crazy and when it did fill in a bit inside, it was still chill. Went to explore the art district and found this place. Decent amount of people around 12p. The bartender was super cool. I sat at the bar and tried their local pear cider and had a pho burrito. I'm not truly a cidar person but it was really good. The burrito was on another level. I chose beef and the meat was seasoned well. The full combination of the noodles, cilantro, jalapeno, and sauces in a burrito worked well. It was also huge!! read more

Came here for dinner before seeing a show at the bellco theater on a Friday. We arrived at 7pm and there were two seats at the bar-- we were very lucky because it was packed. We were a little bit on a time crunch and def were rushing but ,the service/staff was quick, kind and attentive. The menu wasn't too big which was nice with helpings with making decisions because everything looked amazing. I went with the KOREAN BEEF rice bowl-- lots of great, fresh ingredients (the beef marinade was a little too sweet for me & a bit chewy, which I tried to balance it out with they're amazing sauce wall offerings). All in all everything was great and will be back to try other items--much recommended. read more

We've been going to Chuey Fu's for a few years. We've tried their tacos, burritos, chilaquiles and salads and all are flavorful. It's also a great place to watch games so highly recommend. read more

I had high hopes for my last meal in town, but I left Denver disappointed with this experience. The service was nice, but it wasn't very busy and the burritos took over 30 minutes to come out. In addition to that, the fillings of the burritos were very imbalanced. Like, meat on one side, veggies on the other. I'd hope they have a system to fill and wrap the burritos so you can have a decent bite throughout the entire burrito, but it doesn't seem they do. Especially with their monster-sized burritos. I'd rather have a smaller burrito with evenly distributed fillings than a giant burrito with imbalanced fillings. FUKI FRIES: They weren't shoestring. Think McDonald's size. The toppings were a great combination, but the fries weren't fresh by the time we got them. They were good enough though. BEEF FUH BURRITO: My first bite was all Serrano pepper. It basically ruined the rest of my meal. I couldn't even eat 1/5th of the burrito. I tried eating from the other end, and that was much better because I don't think there was any Serrano over there, but my mouth was still on fire and I had to leave to catch a flight so it didn't really redeem the meal. I was really looking forward to trying this, but I feel like I didn't even really get to taste it. I still want to try it, so if I'm ever in Denver again, I'd definitely ask for it without Serrano peppers. KOREAN BEEF BURRITO: My bf got this and he said it was good, but there was a lot of the cabbage mix, maybe too much. Decided to go here since we were near the area and this seemed like a promising place. We walked here and almost missed it cause it kinda blends in with the building and is easy to miss. Since we came here around 1pm there weren't many people there. The place itself has industrial vibes with the exposed ceiling and the pipe near the seating area to rest your feet. We were a little confused at first when we came in cause we didn't know if we had to wait to get seated but the girl at the bar saw us and told us to sit anywhere. It seemed like it was only her in the front while one other person worked in the kitchen. Service was pretty good for there only being 2 people during a slow time and the food came out pretty quick as well. We ordered the char siu pork rice bowl ($12), the Korean beef rice bowl ($13), the fried pork skin ($7.50), and a drink. The total came out to around $50 and we definitely had leftovers to take home. The portion size is pretty good cause we each were only able to finish about half of our bowls and took the other half home. The flavors were pretty good with mine having more of a kick than I thought. But overall I was pretty satisfied. I might go here again if I were ever in the area and I would recommend it to others as well! read more

We came by around 8pm and there was only about 3 other people eating inside. The servers and bartenders were really nice. But the food was not good at all. FUKI FRIES - fries with a ton of Mayo on top with a furikake sprinkled on top. If you're not familiar, furikake is a mix of seaweed, sesame seeds, and some other seasonings depending on the variety.If you enjoy eating huge globs of mayo, this would be right for you. If not, then don't get this. RAMEN - I ordered ramen with fried tofu. The server let me know there's a vegetarian broth option if I didn't want the chicken broth. I'm glad that they are accommodating to people of different dietary restrictions. The vegetarian broth was supposed to be Chipotle miso which sounded interesting. What came out was what tasted like water mixed with chipotle tabasco. There was no flavor, no hint of miso or anything. Maybe the chicken broth would be better? The tofu was great and fried really nicely though. My bf got the Bulgogi rice bowl and he could only manage to eat a few bites. I love Chuey Fu's and their unique menu! It's a great local spot for great food and drinks. They have a good happy hour selection with discounted drinks and apps. My favorite entree is the shrimp burrito and I love their selection of sauces to add heat and flavor. The biggest downside is they always only have one employee serving the entire place so service can take awhile. They have friendly but when they have lots of customers to serve it's understandable. This is a great place to watch games as they usually have several TVs on and will happily change the channel if needed. read more

This is a cute little spot tucked away on Santa Fe! It's small and feels intimate. The food was okay. The queso was good, but nothing insanely special. The tacos had so much sauce that it overpowered the other flavors. The burrito was good, just much sweeter than we expected. As a food truck is very decent. I was able to enjoy their food during block party at the Ballpark District. They do carry different dishes. That day they have a lot crews that able to speed up the process. I don't need to wait for long on my order. I saw the have a choice Korean BBQ and char shu pork. I ask for half and half meat section with both choice of meat. It was delivered as promised. The bowl is a little spicy. But the meat is delicious. It has a lot of garnish and look beautiful. Hapoy hour is fire. There is an extensive hot sauce bar so you know I'm down. The beef crunchy tacos are only on HH and are sooo good. The Palomas and Margaritos are not too sweet, also on HH. Sometimes they get busy and seem understaffed, but they are friendly no matter what. read more

Asian fusion is always something I gravitate towards. We had the Char Su Pork Burrito. Not bad! I might just have the bowl next time but my partner really wanted it as a burrito. It's a fun atmosphere here and they have some good beer options. The only bad thing about my experience was that when we walked in, no one greeted us or acknowledged us until we walked up to someone 10 minutes later after we saw an empty table. I get that it was busy, but when you're walking by a group of people who have been waiting by the door for more than 5 min, you should probably at least greet them. So if we dated this experience purely on the quesadilla, my six year old would give it six stars...it's just that good. I'm reality, it's four stars with hints of more. The ramen was ok but not the most notable Thing in the menu. The pork ramen was better than the vegetable ramen. The ceviche was seven stars and I'm not a huge ceviche fan. Surprisingly yummy. The chicken is crazy good in anything. The nachos were super queso-cheesy. The bowl was very yummy. Interesting combination of Korean beef, spicy, cilantro and something like a chipotle sauce. Cool concept, delicious food, even cooler art. I had the corn and black bean burrito (and added tofu!) and it was delicious. The corn is elote-style, meaning it's sweet and seasoned. I love this place, it's the perfect neighborhood bar and restaurant to meet up with friends, have a conversation with a stranger, or sit and draw as I often enjoy doing. My bartender was Hailey and she's a rockstar, she was super attentive, kind, and friendly, always made sure I was being taken care of, and she's was very accommodating about making a drink for me that wasn't on the menu. The food is delicious, an interesting fusion of asian and Mexican food, the plantains and ice cream tasted like home in the Dominican Republic, and the Korean bbq burritos are quite delicious. Legit best nachos I've EVER had. I have eaten here so many times and I looooove their food and menu but the service is soooooo bad. I have never eaten a thing here I didn't like. But I have many, many bad experiences with the bartenders. They just don't care. The girl tonight was more interested in suductively cleaning the bottles behind the bar for her boyfriend than helping us. We asked 3x for water and never got it. The last time I had to go up to the bar to ask for water and another drink and she acted like I was interrupting her (again, flirting with her bf) & still never brought water. I'm in the service industry and just got off a very busy 9hr shift myself and couldn't wait to get off to come get a bite here because legit, their food is epic... But what a disappointment to have to chase after my drinks after a long shift on my feet waiting on other people. I was visiting the area and my friend mentioned we have to stop by here before I left town! I'm a sucker for some good fusion so I was ready! The whole menu looked delicious but after deliberation, I got the Pho Burrito and this was easily one of the tastiest burritos I've ever had! The meat was so well flavored, and it combined for a perfect knockout punch with everything else in the burrito. Service was quick, our server Sam was very nice and helpful. They also served alcohol so I was able to leave with a full belly, and a bit warm from tequila shots. You cannot go wrong with Chuey Fu's- everything I have tried (so far) is delicious. We went on Friday to warm up and fuel up before the art walk and were able to grab a seat at the bar. The space isn't huge, but the tables are large and accommodating and you can usually find a spot. Even though I haven't gotten any yet, I am a huge sake fan and love that they have sake bombs on the menu. I wonder if they would let you pound the tables to do the sake bombs...something tells me they would! The food is killer. I have gotten tacos and rice bowls and they are both delicious but I would opt for the rice bowl if you are extra hungry. Service is quick and the food is filling. The flavors are bright and the food is seasoned well. Great mix of Latin and Asian cuisines. PS- try their michelada; the homemade mix is YUM. read more

Filled nicely, every bite got a bit of everything. An excellent thing for a burrito. Both the Shrimp and Beef ones were delicious. The lemonade was a bit off. It could've been sweeter. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the ramen. I think it's miso based which it didn't say on the menu, it didn't taste like chicken broth. The noodles in it were cooked nicely, with a little bite to them. The broth is what really threw us off. We'll certainly be back for more of those delicious burritos. read more

Went here on a first Friday, the restaurant was full and lively. Staff were sweet and attentive, they came right over to help us and take our order. There was quite a wait for the food and the server apologized multiple times, but the noise became too much. It was no big deal, we understood they were busy, so we just asked for the food to go. Ok so now that I have worked my way through the majority of the items on the menu (minus anything from the sea). I can happily say that the ramen with chicken is my favorite. The ramen broth is made primarily from chicken broth, unlike almost every other "traditional ramen" spots that make their broth with fish sauce in it. I will not eat anything from the sea and find all fish and fish tasting dishes to be repulsive so Chuey Fu's ramen is great for all of us non eating fish people. Also if ramen isn't your thing, I can highly recommend the char su pork bowl as well. Honey loves their chicken quesadillas. He also gave the ahi tuna bowl and tacos rave reviews.
