Food is yummy. Place is clean and service is quick and friendly. Ordered the Carmel cheesecake and the hot steak sandwich
I've been eyeing this place for awhile for a post gym meal! Finally got to check it out, and it did not disappoint. It was pretty bustling the day I went so you could hear active sizzling on the skillet and sandwiches being made. I got the french dip to go and a couple of pre-made desserts to go. I didn't eat the sandwich for about 45 minutes because I had some errands on the way home, and the french dip was surprisingly still warm. It was so good!!!! I'm sure it would have been even better if I had eaten it while it was fresh and hot. Service was friendly, and my order was prepared in about five minutes. There were a handful of spots to sit inside and some outside seating. Ambiance was super casual (order at the counter and wait for your name to be called type place). I will definitely return again!
Wow! Their menu instantly reminded me of Cheesecake Factory's menu...extensive. But honestly, that's not a bad thing because there are plenty of options. They have everything from hot sandwiches and cold sandwiches to salads, wraps, and even breakfast items. You can order at the counter or on the kiosk. I ordered on the kiosk. Simple and quick. I ordered the wild-caught salmon sandwich with salmon, arugula, and garlic aioli. The salmon was cooked perfectly. They were a little skimpy on the aioli, so the sandwich was kind of dry, but it was still good. I also got a side of fries, and those shoestring fries were nice and crispy. Prices are reasonable, and there's seating both inside and outside. Shout out to Crystal. I don't know if she's the manager, but she definitely cares about quality customer service. Someone ordered the Green Beret sandwich, and it was brought out on toasted bread when apparently it wasn't supposed to be. She immediately went to the counter and let the cooks know about it. She meant business, and I liked that.

I always walk past this place and I always see how delicious and beautifully plated customers foods are. So I decided to go check this place out and now it one my favorite places in santee to eat at!! The food is absolutely delicious and tasty. The portions are huge. Definitely can take the rest home or you can share with someone else and get multiple items off the menu to try like I did. The food is fresh and not greasy at all. The service is excellent! Honestly the employees that work there are the best! It was our first time there and we didn't know what to get so we asked a bunch of questions and they were very patient and took their time with us and gave us recommendations on what to get. It was very helpful! They have plenty of seating inside and outside. They have umbrellas outside when it is sunny which is great. They have plenty of parking which is the best. If you haven't been here yet you definitely need to go. Trust me their food is worth it.

First time here, and overall a good experience. To be honest, I was expecting a traditional deli, the menu is massive- everything from flatbread to lobster roll and just about everything in between. I ordered the filet wrap w tomato basil soup and my friend ordered the Green goddess w gyro and a couple of drinks. The Avocado goddess was hands down the best looking salad I've ever seen, seriously magazine worthy. My wrap and soup were solid as well. The only thing that really stood out to me was the price, the bill close to $60. Is it good? absolutely. Is it the best deli in town. I'd say it feels more like a gourmet sandwich shop than a traditional deli. Quality food but definitely on the pricier side.
This place has an insane menu. If you're hungry this is the place to come. You will definitely not leave hungry. The inside is super clean and has a few tables. They also have tables outside as well. The service is amazing. The food is very good. Huge portions and the price is awesome. I come here every time I'm in the area. Thank you Pepper Farm Deli for the great food and your hospitality.
Service is fast and food is great! Best sub I have had in a while. This place so many options and great quality in!!! They even have fresh real smoothies and fresh pressed juices. They have it all. quality is definitely at the heart of this place. It's a lil deli so not too much seating inside but they have a little outside seating out front as well
First time eating here. Apparently it's a popular place. It wasn't all that busy when I got here but after eating it got packed so just be aware. You can order at the register or use their kiosks which are very easy to navigate. There's seating inside and outside and they serve Coke products. The place is well laid out and clean. Now on to the food. I got the Grilled Cheese Double Patty Bacon Cheeseburger. It was served piping hot and looked great. All in all the burger was very good but it's not something I would order again. Just too big making it somewhat tough to eat. You can tell they grind their own meat for the burger but honestly I think it could have used more flavor given what I've had elsewhere. Also, the meat was cooked "well" but was still juicy. Next time I'll try one of the other burger options. Looking at the other orders that people were picking up (sandwiches, fries, flatbread, and salads) they all looked really good. Well prepared and good sized portions. The menu has a lot of variety. I will be back.
TL;DR: Found this place on TikTok, it was a great deli spot that really fills their sandwiches for the price you pay. Parking here is super easy since it's located in a big shopping center with abundant spots. I was already in the area and wanted to find a good spot for lunch after seeing this place on TikTok. When you walk in, the process is quick and simple. You order and pay right at two self-serve kiosks. If you order a drink, they have it ready as soon as you pay and will call out your name. The wait time for the food isn't crazy long at all. We waited maybe 10 to 15 minutes total. We didn't really interact with the staff much, so I can't speak on customer service, but they sure do a great job of making good sandwiches. My girlfriend got the Bovine sandwich, and it was really good. It gets a bit messy to eat, but it is jam-packed with meat. I got the roast beef grinder, which was also loaded. The bread on the grinder was pretty tough, but I personally still enjoyed it. Plus, every sandwich comes with a super delicious and crunchy pickle on the side. As for seating, they have a limited amount of space inside, but there is additional seating outside. You can grab takeout like we did, or eat there and they'll serve your meal on actual plates. If I'm in town I'd like to try some of their hot sandwiches or burgers.
Came here for work lunch and we all tried a few different things. The staff were friendly and immediately greeted us. The Chipotle Chicken Sandwich was pretty large and could have been shared by two people! The flavors were all very good, just a little messy to eat. The Porto vegetarian sandwich was very good, even if you aren't a vegetarian I think you enjoy this! Lastly, the Philly Cheesesteak was full of flavor. None of these sandwiches came with any sides unfortunately, so you should look at sharing a few side options for the table.

This is hands down my husband and I's favorite sandwich shop in all of San Diego and we gladly drive 30 minutes to get here. It's worth it every time! My favorite sandwich on the menu is the Sweet Bird and I have to get it every time. Crystal also suggested I try something new so I opted for the Reuben which was absolutely delicious! Crystal is one of the amazing employees that works here and made our experience extra special. My husband loves the Bovine sandwich and tried the tomato soup which was delicious and so fresh. The ingredients used here are TOP NOTCH. So is the service! This is a family owned business and they put their sweat in blood into it! It shows with their kindness, attention to detail and the effort they make to remember each customer. We ended the experience with their amazing cookies. They spoiled our pup with bacon and he's already asking to go back. We will be here every weekend to continue to make our way through the plethora of amazing options on the menu. read more

I've had better. Ordered a Reuben, fruit salad, and coconut cake. Reuben was decent. Fruit salad had unripe oranges, foul commercial flavor from the juice , two grapes, two small pineapple, and two under ripe honeydew. Coconut cake was dry and flavorless. Also, a bit of an attitude from the girl taking my order. Self serve kiosk would not read three of my credit cards but nobody cared. Would not go back. read more

Everything I've tried here is amazing. The burgers are so juicy. The soups especially the clam chowder are so good. The mac and cheese is so cheesy. Just know it's more of a white cheddar mac and cheese. Service is always 5 stars. I love their outdoor seating. read more

Food: Their hot sandwiches are to die for! We tried the shrimp sandwich and the salmon - both so well prepared with only the freshest ingredients. All of the toppings/fixings and sauces worked well in combination. Can't rave about the flavors enough, and so worth the price (think basically Subway pricing but better ingredients). The sandwiches came with a pickle and lemon, but we also added a side of fries - crunchy, buttery, freshly made. Service: Workers were welcoming, and patient as we looked through their plethora of options. They made our food in a timely manner and brought it out to us. Additionally, they were so kind to bring us napkins, offer sauces, and even check on how we were doing. Quality service here! Atmosphere: A couple people enjoying their food inside and outside seating, but many more takeout orders. Good music playing and even a couple televisions available for entertainment. read more
11/10/23- I went in there for a late lunch around 3pm. Cute place with a very shocking large menu to select from. Wonderful service and very clean inside. I ordered the Goldilocks. Also, they serve breakfast there as well. I saw listed a ribeye breakfast sandwich I will try next time. Sandwich was built well, they didn't skip on the meat as well. It tasted very good. WOW, this place actually blew me away. To be honest, I'm not a sandwich kind of person, so I wasn't sure what to expect from here. The staff was incredibly friendly and talked us through all the options on the menu. My partner and I got the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Sandwich and Chopped Cheese sandwich. Both were VERY GOOD. We were both shocked at how good it was, neither of us were extremely hungry but we both finished our sandwiches completely! The bread for both was excellent. Chopped cheese: genuinely, the perfect sandwich. It was hot, cheesy, and all the ingredients were perfectly balanced. Nothing was too overpowering and it wasn't even extremely greasy or heavy! Cilantro Lime: This was my first time having a shrimp sandwich, and it was so unique!! I am rarely in Santee but this was 100% worth the drive. Luckily I'll be doing some work out in Santee, so I will def be stopping by here weekly!! read more
I have seen Pepper Deli on many lists of top spot to eat so when the opportunity arose to try Pepper Deli I was excited. When I walked in the door I as greeted immediately. The employees were extremely friendly and welcoming. When I had a question regarding a menu item the gentlemen helping me seemed to honestly care and want to help. In the end I ordered the Green Goddess Salad with no tomato and a fountain drink. They have coke products which I couldn't have been happier with. My order was ready in about 5 minutes. My salad was made perfectly and looked gorgeous. I took my salad to go to enjoy at home. The flavor of the dressing was great, very bright and fresh tasting. The greens were fresh and so were the pickled onions and feta. The bacon added great flavor. Unfortunately the avocado was not ripe, I could not cut it with a fork and had to leave it off to the side. Overall it was a great salad. I watched a few other orders be made and you can tell everything is made to order. All orders are prepared with care and the service is absolutely exceptional. read more
When I say that this was the one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, I truly mean that this was one of the best sandwiches I've had. I got the chopped cheese, and you can tell that everything at Pepper Farm Deli is made fresh. The grill is sizzling with steak, the veggies are crunchy and fresh, and the quality of the food is great! The chopped cheese sandwich was soooo good. The steak had crispy bits and was so juicy and tender. The bread was crispy but perfectly soft, and the combination of the fresh veggies + garlic aioli was amazing. I've always driven by this place and finally stopped in one afternoon. It's a small shop, but nice staff and they're very busy. They do in person and pickup so there's sometimes a line to order and to pickup. They have a handful of tables inside as well as outside in front of the store. I sat inside since it was a bit hot that day. Their menu offers a lot and I took a bit to decide what to get. I ended up ordering the ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. It came with a side of fruit and it was very kind - the worker brought it out to me on a nice plate to my table. Egg was perfectly runny but still in tact and ham was nice and juicy but warm. It was a delicious meal and it was nice to just spend some alone time and get a good bite to eat. I definitely want to come back when I get the chance and try something new! read more
So I am all about supporting the small family owned businesses and I've walked by this establishment everytime I've gone to the water store. Soooo I finally decided to try it - twice. The first time my husband and I came here was for lunch. It's a nice quaint setup they have- they offer a variety of menu items. I had ordered their London broil and I thought that was super tasty - I really liked it. It was a nice portion and had so much flavor. My husband ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and he thought it was okay - he said the chicken had too much char and that the char taste was overwhelming - he couldn't taste the pesto. It was a good experience overall since the staff is very friendly. My second visit here was to grab a quick smoothie and to be honest I was so disappointed (if not really upset). It was a hot day and I really wanted a nice cold smoothie. I ordered the superfood smoothie and it took 10-15 min... When they finally gave it to me, it was no longer a smoothie. It completely melted when they handed it to me.. literally just acai juice.. it was so upset because that was literally $10.. for juice. I'm going to assume they made it and forgot to give it to me because the cashier lady saw me and asked the other employee frantically "do you have the smoothie?!"... anywho.. they should have recognized that it had melted and gave me a new one and I also should have said something (but I was so upset). read more

Great sandwich/salad shop in Santee! Highly recommend if in the area. Parking Plenty of parking in the shopping center. Nice that it's the only restaurant in the section of the center. Shop Aesthetics/ Cleanliness Small, but clean looking shop. Only a few tables inside, and a few outside with piano/jazz music playing through a speaker. Wait Time I waited about 15-20 minutes for my order- but I understood there would be a wait based on the number of people in line. The food is also made fresh right in front of you! Fod The Cobb Salad was delicious! It has a little too much blue cheese for my liking, but everything else was delicious- especially the bacon which was real bacon- not the bacon in a bag. The Pepper Farm Burger was a solid burger- cooked well and tasted like a typical burger- not too greasy, just right. Overall, I would recommend if in the area for a sandwich or salad- they also have other food that I might try like low carb plates or a smoothies. read more

LOVE this place! Went when they first opened with my Pops and wasn't a fan. Decided to try it out again for breakfast and I have been back twice! Breakfast sandwiches and wraps plus the skillet potatoes are amazing! They use brioche buns so they're perfectly soft and toasted. Grabbed lunch the other day and the sandwiches were great! They forgot my fries (unfortunately I didn't notice until I got home), they also left tomato on my man's sandwich which I put no tomato for, and they were out of the cake I originally ordered, so that was a bummer. It was a lunch rush, so I get it but I wish I would have checked to make sure I had all of the items I paid for. You should definitely check them out though! read more
A couple of friends and I had dinner here earlier this year. I chose the meatlover's flatbread, while they opted for the London broil BBQ and the Pepper farm burger and some fries. For drinks, I grabbed a great tasting kombucha to try. Pepper Farm is fancier than your typical deli, with nicely plated entrees. I love the little basket the fries came in. My flatbread had roasted garlic tomato sauce and plenty of filet mignon, bacon, and sausage. The fries were nice and crispy as well. The owner came to check up on us and gave us all their sauces to try (for the burger). For dessert, my friend was eyeing the red velvet cake, so she also ordered that. The owner was so nice and brought out a New York cheesecake and chocolate one as well. We all dug into it and my favorite was the chocolate one, of course! I wish they weren't so far from me because I would definitely come back more often! The food and service was excellent! read more

Sandwiches, Salads, and Soups are probably my favorite foods - there are endless combinations! Pepperfarm Deli has a ton of choices that range from a traditional turkey sando to more unique options like a hot steak and arugula. I let the staff pick his favorite sandwich, which turned out to be the steak and arugula. I made the mistake of not being able to eat it right away - something popped up and I needed to out my feast on hold for a little bit, so I didn't really get to enjoy this at its finest. When I did eat it, the steak was a little overdone, but that potentially could have been avoided if I enjoyed it when I was supposed to. I also got a green smoothie which was quite large and made me feel really healthy. I had to split it with my hubs because I didn't think I'd finish it on my own. Overall this was a pretty solid spot with nice staff and a lot of options. I'll need to continue my exploration of the menu, I'm definitely interested in digging into the breakfast side of things! read more

To have a high quality deli in the neighborhood that opens into the evening is an underrated blessing. Spacious parking lot and speedy staff that will satisfy customers with appointments nearby or those with a craving for killer sandwiches at 7PM. Pepper Farm Deli has some of the most hospitable staff members I've ever met and they're proud of the products they put out. Their manager was incredibly enthusiastic, promoting how their soups and sauces were made from in-house and their vegetables were 100% organic. And it definitely shows! Everything I've tried here has been fresh, flavorful and well-balanced. They also offer take-out in which they always wrap everything with caution. Besides sandwiches, they also offer flatbreads, wraps, salads, soups, and smoothies. =YUM= Each sandwich included a pickle. *Sweetbird: bright, acidic turkey sandwich. Sweet from the green grapes and sour from the pickled red onions and balsamic glaze. My personal favorite. *OG Reuben: piled high with Boar's Head pastrami and stretchy swiss cheese. The sauerkraut was very mild and the prominent flavor came from the dijon and thousand island dressing. Went well with the pickle. *Filet Mignon Flatbread: great for sharing between two people. While the filet mignon was tender and plentiful, I really enjoyed the heirloom tomatoes and roasted garlic tomato sauce. Quality vegetables truly elevated the meat. *Tomato Basil Soup: can be included for free with any purchase. Rich tomato flavor and would go well with the OG Reuben or any hot sandwich. However, more notably focused on the tomato than basil. Their menu is huge and I intend on slowly making my way through every single one. I have no fear because I know that whatever I'll order, they'll prep everything properly and stack the ingredients high. Quality people, quality food--take all of my money. read more

Not too often does one find a sandwich place with 5 stars across the board. I just had to try this place out and went in for a late lunch sandwich. Parking is a bit difficult as this area is very busy with other businesses in close proximity. The person that took my order asked me if it was my first time there and I asked which was the most popular sandwich? He told me Little Italy and I asked if they could thin the bread out a bit as I like my meat and bread portions to be equal. Wonderful and fresh tasting and for sure will return! read more

Right next to Home Depot. Highly convenient. Across from Board and Brew. Less convenient. I will say straight up that Pepper Farm Deli is better than board and brew. B & B is very very very good, 9/10, PFD is a 10/10. The ingredients seem very local and fresh farmed, the composition of the sandwiches are like made at home, made at a nearby spot. I got the Italian, wife got the vegan. Both were incredible. The mustard + garlic aioli combo is excellent. Another huge advantage is the quality of the bread. Not overly chewy, not oversized. $21 for two sandwiches is a bit steep but well worth it here. The owner is also extremely friendly and was very thankful for our business. read more

Best thing you can do especially if you're going near lunch time is to definitely just order online. It was so easy to just go and pickup. The line to order was ridiculous. We didn't realize that this place was popular. It was our first time and we just chose a place that has Chicken Pesto Sandwich as that's what I was craving for. The Chicken Pesto Sandwich sounds like a simple sandwich but there's only one place so far that can make it so great it's super memorable for me. Hoping to find another place like that we came here. The sandwich was good but the there was hardly any chicken. I didn't realize it until I took a bite as in the picture you can see it looks like the slices are thin and thick but it was mostly one thin piece. I did like it as it satisfied a craving, but I would prefer next time having more chicken and trying out their other sandwiches. Love Ciabatta bread in general, the pesto paste was meh unfortunately. Philly Cheesesteak, okay we generally don't order Philly Cheesesteak unless we know it's good but since it's a new place for us and we're trying it out for the first time why not? It was good but it lacked cheese? I wanted more, it felt it lack something else too but not sure. I do have a go to place for Philly Cheesesteak and so I can't help but compare. I did like it though in general. Maybe it's one of those things that is not good 'to go'? I generally eat it on the spot. Fisherman's wrap, albacore tuna, sounded so good. I was the only one who thought it had too much mayo and it felt soggy. But I was out ruled on this one. Overall it's a 4 stars because it is good. The things that are lacking seems like just my personal preference, we will see next time. I want to get the Philly again. Until next time. read more

I love how Pepper Farm Deli advertises up front they use organic fruits and veggies, antibiotic free chicken, never frozen meat, and that they do not add any sugar to their smoothies. This makes me feel I am eating healthy, and getting quality food with any item I order. 5/5 London Broil BBQ: this was so good it was the highlight of my day. The layers of Boar's Head London Broil roast beef is thick, hot, and tender. There is just the right amount of tangy and sweet barbecue sauce that contrasts so well with the melted Havarti cheese and grilled red onions. 4/5 pepper farm burger: this was a good burger, with the most noticeable taste coming from the salty, creamy, melted American cheddar and the hand patted ribeye that was cooked medium rare. The arugula, tomatoes, and red onion were crisp and fresh. I was hoping for a sharp pungent flavor from the red onion, but it was surprisingly not there. 5/5 Parking: plenty in the public parking lot 4/5 ambiance: clean and well lit interior with simple, unassuming decor 5/5 service: staff was friendly and helpful, and moved quite efficiently with the number of orders ahead of me Word needs to spread about how delicious and good the food is at Pepper Farm Deli! read more
What an absolutely wonderful staff, ambience, and food! It is the best delis I've been to as of late. The process was fairly seamless. We checked in and they had so many options for flatbread's, hot sandwiches, and cold sandwiches! They also had soups and salads. Tons of options! The Porto vegetarian sandwich that I got was so delicious. The bread was toasted and crispy, but soft, and you could taste the freshness of the vegetables on the sandwich. The pickle was great too! The gentleman that was helping us was so kind to bring the order out to where we were waiting. One downside was that we did not notice anyone wearing masks otherthan maybe the people handling the food. Overall, I really great experience, and we would definitely visit again. read more

Came here during lunch. Happy to see they were busy with take out orders and regular lunch time rush hour. You can dine inside or sit at the round cement tables outside. We got the filet mignon wrap and chicken chipotle flat bread. As well as a cup of chili. If you plan on getting a flat bread, be prepared to wait. It took 30 minutes. The flat bread came in a small pizza size box. Definitely a meal for 2 or even 3! This is one of their new menu items. Toppings Include chipotle sauce, avocado, chicken, onions and bacon. The filet mignon wrap was tiny (skinny). I was expecting it to be massive like a burrito. It's nothing special besides filet mignon meat. A bit on the bland side and needed dipping. The chili was watery and the meat was not chunky. It was very fine. I guess it depends on how you like your chili. I like it thick with consistency. We were also given house pesto sauce and pepper corn sauce to try. The pesto was 10/10. Superb fresh and nutty. Compliments the wrap really well. 3.5 stars rounding to 4. I would like to give this place another try and order the sandwiches next time. Maybe chicken pesto because the pesto sauce was that good. read more

My new favorite sandwich shop! I usually go with turkey sandwiches and I LOVE the sweet bird. Salads are great too, maybe a little pricey if you add meat, but you will be happy with it. Finally tried the pizza last time and it was good too...high quality andfresh ingredients, but the sandwiches are yummy so I will stick with them. I love that I can order ahead online. Allow plenty of time bc they aren't the fastest/are usually busy at lunch time read more
