My friend and I stopped here at Peppercorn Grille for lunch on a weekend and were seated right away. We ordered 2 ahi sandwiches and 2 lunch burgers. Everyone enjoyed their dish! The food was delicious and flavorful, though I think some items can be a bit pricey, $30.99 for a burger is on the higher side, but the taste definitely made up for it. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the service was attentive and friendly. Overall, a great spot for a tasty meal .

Peppercorn Grille is truly one of those must-visit dining experiences when you're in Big Bear Lake Village. My husband Ray and I had dinner here during our stay, and it was such a memorable evening from start to finish. This is not a rushed, in-and-out kind of place -- it's intimate, quiet, and meant to be enjoyed slowly. You come here to relax, connect, and savor every bite. Ray ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad and absolutely loved it. The candied almonds were such a special touch, and the dressing was phenomenal -- perfectly balanced and full of flavor. I had the Cappellini Pomodoro, and wow... the Roma tomato sauce was incredibly fresh and delicious. Everything was so light and beautifully put together. Even when I was getting full, I still wanted to keep eating because it was just that good. The Parmesan and overall balance made it feel indulgent without being heavy. Our server, Tyler, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cared about our experience. I couldn't decide between a side salad or the soup of the day, and he recommended their onion soup -- not your typical onion soup at all, but a unique recipe I've never tasted before, and it was fantastic. Such a great recommendation. Servers like Tyler make all the difference. When someone treats a restaurant like it's their own, you feel it -- and it's why customers want to come back. Five stars all the way. Peppercorn Grille is absolutely a place we look forward to visiting every time we're in Big Bear.

Certified Chopped Angus Burger with mold on bun

My family has a cabin in Big Bear and we come up often, this has always been my favorite restaurant to visit when we're here but this will my last time dining here. I ordered a burger and when I received it I noticed something strange on my burger I was sure it was mold. So I told my waitress and she took it to the back and returned with the same plate saying it wasn't mold and I asked if I could just replace it as I did not feel comfortable eating it. She asked the manager and when she returned she assured me it was normal and said I couldn't swap it with something else and I would still be charged for it. I was going to eat it and when I cut open the bread it was moldy inside, I showed the waitress and they said they were extremely sorry and they removed it from my bill. I'm very disappointed and will not be returning.

Peppercorn Grille is the best restaurant in Big Bear. Their new takes on some of their classic Italian dishes will have you enjoying every bite until there's no leftovers. The staff is also amazing and attentive. Also, Daniel wasn't even our server, but made sure we were taken care of.

Pleasant Surprise in Big Bear! Classiest spot we could find. The pastas taste really authentic with depth to the sauce. The Spinach Ricotta Ravioli was delicious with fresh cheese filling & a creamy tomato sauce. The Beef Stroganoff was surprisingly tasty for a mushroom pasta. There was great service & food but for the price point, they should bring out better bread & butter. The thick slabs of white bread were not good.

Great service! Highly recommended to make a reservation as they may not take walk ins. Had the lobster ravioli and it was good but very rich and heavy. Good sized portions. The crab cake appetizer was delicious and fresh. Great date night spot. Pricey but still recommend.

We loved it the first time we went! We dined in that time. We went back up to Big Bear and wanted to grab soup to go for dinner. $26 for not even a full cup is insane!!! It's not that good! We were so disappointed. I seriously wanted a refund. We won't be back!!!

This was easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in Big Bear. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere and a charming patio where we were able to dine comfortably with our dogs. We started with the bruschetta and the calamari steak served with a zesty lemon aioli--both dishes were generously portioned and full of flavor. Two members of our group are vegan, and the staff was happy to accommodate them with a delicious capellini pomodoro, served without cheese. I shared the flatiron steak, which was crusted with peppercorn and topped with a rich peppercorn cognac cream sauce--absolutely mouthwatering. If you're visiting Big Bear, this place should definitely be on your list.

Food was alright . I was upset with the pasta . Didn't have much flavor . Steak was really good . But it's a bit pricey for sure . Soup was good . . Don't have much to say . Wasn't so impressed. Employees are very humbled people . Very nice and attentive. Our server told us the owner is a bit strict on the employees. That's the reason for my 3 star . I can appreciate a business when their employees are taken care of . I could be wrong but I was told otherwise . Ambiance is beautiful . Dim lights excellent for dates but keep in mind you'll spend more than 100 for a party of 2 .

My wife ordered the Oakside burger and sweet potato fries, and I ordered the French dip along with sweet potato fries. The wife thoroughly enjoyed her burger. It was cooked to perfection. The bun was fresh and the condiments crisp. She also really liked her sweet potato fries. They were hot and freshly prepared. I ordered the beef dip that was served on a unique roll that was outstanding. It really set off the whole sandwich. The Ajou was great, and the fresh horseradish was on point. You enter through the mouth of a shark, the entire crew speaks in surfer dude vernacular, and every inch of the place is uniquely decorated and on theme. It's insane! It could totally serve as an art exhibition. There's almost always a bit of a rush here, so wait times can be long, but they encourage you to order a drink while you wait! It's a pretty smart system haha. I got the Tropsicle and the Pele Bowl. The Tropsicle was such a refreshing slush- perfect for the hot summer! It's a swirl of passion fruit, orange, guava, pineapple, and coconut. All the best flavors! The Pele Bowl featured spicy ahi and cucumber over a bed of rice. You have the option to up the spice on this bowl, but beware! It gets hot! Overall, great flavors and super solid poke. A must-visit if you're on the mountain!

There's indoor and outdoor seating. I sat outside for the view. When customers sit outside, servers are supposed to check up on them often. I know because I used to be a server. She only came out twice during the hour I was there. I wanted more napkins and was going to go inside and ask for it but I just patiently kept waiting and then finally when she came out I asked for it. At the end of my meal when I got the check, she still didn't come out, so I just went inside so I can hurry up and pay and leave because the bugs were attacking me outside. For the record, the restaurant was empty too. If it was busy, I'd understand the slow service. But it was pretty empty, like 5 tables filled, and the restaurant is big because there's indoor and outdoor seating. Also there was another older white lady (not my server) who I think might be a manager or owner, who came outside to ask the white couple sitting next to me if everything was good. It was only me and that couple sitting in the outside patio at the time because the sun had set. And after asking them she just went back inside. She never asked me how I was doing or if I needed anything. Because of that I thought she was racist but that's just my assumption. Either way, it was rude. I really did not like the service here as you can tell from this long review. Ambience: I found this place on yelp because I wanted to eat with a lake view. The view is cool. It's not WOWW. But there's not many lake view restaurant surprisingly in Big Bear. It sucked because the sun was setting on the left side, so it was behind the trees. So you couldn't see the sunset. However their lake view to the front and right is nice. I ate at De La Nonna yesterday, which also had a view. And their view is wayyyy better. So overall, view was nice. Not horrible. Not the best. But at least you get a view. Now onto my biggest ick of the night, which was worse than the service, and the reason why I will never return here or recommend this place to anyone.. the BUGS. Oh my GOD!! They were attacking me and even if you shoo them away they don't go away. And it was like 5 different types of bugs. This small little fruit fly looking one, this huge fly/bee size one, this small green mini grasshopper looking one. These bugs kept hitting my face as I was eating I had to keep slapping my face and use the napkins to keep waving them around to keep them away but it didn't work. One landed in my wine, one landed in my water, 2 landed in my salad, a bunch on my face and body. It was insane. I would think they would know this and put some type of outdoor bug zapper for the customers. Or bug traps or repellent. Anything to deter the bugs away. It ruined my experience and I couldn't even enjoy the view because I was too busy slapping and killing these bugs. This place has potential but it's not it. I'm just glad my salad tasted good so at least I had a satisfying meal. If my food sucked I would've been PISSED at the whole experience. I'm giving it a 2 star for the salad and decent view.
